Where do you worship?

What church or other house of worship do all of you go to?

At school, I regularly attend service at Bethel Missionay Baptist Church in Tallahassee, Florida where the Reverend Doctor R. B. Holmes, Jr. is the pastor.

At home, I am part of the wonderful Christian family at Cornerstone Fellowship Baptist Church where Reverend Donald E. Dunnigan is the pastor. I miss my pastor, he speaks so well. :)

I attend Redeemed Assembly of Jesus Christ Apostolic, better known as RAJCA in Richmond Virginia with Bishop James F. Harris and Lady Sylvia Harris are pastor and co-pastor. It's a WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL place to worship. It's a place where one will be accepted and where the TRUTH is preached according to God's Word.

Like HyperBeauty, I too worship at a church named First African Baptist Church http://firstafricanbaptistchurch.org/ (Sharon Hill, PA).

If you are in the Philadelphia area, please stop by to join us in worship and praise! Our pastor, the Reverend Dr. Richard A. Dent is a Leader who preaches AND teaches.

Have you visited Columbus Christian Center Pastor David Forbes? If you haven't, I suggest you do so. He is an anointed man of God that truly preaches the Word of God unhindered, unsheltered, and unbiased.

While at school in Minneapolis, I worship at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, but....

when I travel to Chicago, I go to Trinity United Church of Christ, where Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. is the head pastor.

As a matter of fact, Rev. Wright was the guest pastor at Howard the weekend of the Founder's Day celebration. I couldn't make it :(..did anyone attend??? I think it was to be held in Rankin Chapel...

Trinity UCC is the church home of my husband and me, and "Rev.", as we call Rev. Wright (who married us), is sooooooo much the bomb pastor, and Trinity is such a wonderful place to worship and grow in your Christian walk! I have never been into getting excited about pastors (cuz it always seems a bit cheesy to "fall in love" with a human being and wind up missing God's message), but Rev. is truly someone special and blessed by God. He returns every letter, email and phone call personally, whether he's in town, in Africa or in California (no small feat, as our membership is 7,000+ and Rev is in high demand as a theological scholar, lecturer and guest speaker/preacher).

Case in point: recently Rev. snail-mailed a good old-fashioned letter to my dad in MI (who is not a member of Trinity) to let him know that our church family had been praying for my dad during his illness. In his letter, he detailed everything that had been going on with my dad (as communicated to Rev. by me in email updates), and gave my dad some encouragement. I was/am so touched by his thoughtfulness!

Rev. Wright really sets as example of how to live one's life as a follower of Christ!

And although our church is big, we strive to be ONE body in Christ, and offer a little bit of something for everyone, from a credit union to several children's ministries to yoga to dance to our own Center for African Biblical Studies (to break it down, that's our bible study). My hubby and I are looking forward to a married couples' retreat in March, just one of several retreats the church sponsors for couples, men, women, young people, singles, etc.

Sorry to brag on my church and pastor, yall! God is good!

P.S. Rev. is an Omega, and on occasion, will clown a bit and throw up his sign, as well as tease those of us who are Greek with little things here and there!

HC I've been reading all of your posts on this thread for the past couple of weeks, but haven't posted. The reason why I haven't posted is because I have already told y'all before about the "ISSUES" that my Pastor is facing. I've posted the links to the articles in the newspaper about the trial proceedings. So, it's already known that I am a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Seaside, CA.

As I've been reading all of your posts, I've seen how spiritually blessed all of you are to have Pastors who feed your souls with the Gospel.

I have some "other" feelings right now about my Church and my Pastor. I'm not sure how I will deal with it, but will continue to pray and hope that you'll do the same for me.

From one Bethel Baptist girl to another, I just have to let prayerfull know that she is in my prayers. This battle is not yours; it's the Lord's. I'm glad that you are already praying about your situation because He is always the answer to problems.

Stay faithful and prayerfull.

In Christ,

ClassyLady

Thanks but No thanks. I am doubly blessed by my pastor Keith Allan Troy. I can HONESTLY say that I am missing nothing from the Columbus Christian Center. God sent the right spiritual leader into my life and I will miss him but as long as I am in Columbus, New Salem Missionary Baptist Church will be my home.

Wow Your Pastor sounds like Ideal08 and mine. Yesterday was such a blessed experience. I feel how you do about your pastor and his first lady. He is so human but I can truly see how God has worked in his life and how he really strives to keep GOD as the focus of the church and his life.

Whenever I go (used to be faithfully and will be again), I left with so much to feed upon for a whole week that I can honestly be assured that his message is from God and not what he thought we should hear. His messages are truly here is how to live a Christ filled life.

Just let me tell ya'll 'bout "Rev." ( I was going to say "Rev" but thought no one would know what I was talking about!!! ;)

Rev. married my mom, and my step-dad as well. I think Rev. Smith (I think that's right, the one who left to preach in Dolton???) married my aunt and uncle. My grandmother was livid when I told her I couldn't make it to the service...but I was going to Baltimore the next day....:(

I am Catholic by choice, but I was brought up in Trinity. I was an usher (back when we wore the white and navy dresses), and I was in Imani for a quick minute...two of my little cousins are now too) Rev is just da bomb!!! His sermons have just touched my heart..when I thought I wouldn't get a job, when I was having frustrations about my biological father...everything, he can really help you understand God's message, and how much the Lord loves us, and cares about us. I'ma stop, cause I'm about to start crying!!

And you are definitely right...Trinity is a large church, but Rev knows EVERYONE....and even with his schedule how it is, he will return every email, letter, phone call, etc. I make it a point to go to church when I get into town, and it's too bad the Monday night service on cable isn't broadcast up here, because I know a lot of folks in this area that need to hear Rev.

Which service do you go to?? I won't be back into Chicago till the Regional Conference, but if you're there that Sunday for the 8 o'clock service, maybe I'll see you there!!
