Your birthweight?

I unashamedly stole this topic off the SGR forum but it seems like it could get so interesting if posted out here for everybody!!!

With all apologies to MidwestDiva--

How much did you weigh at birth? How about any children you may have?

I was only 6-14 but this little body has produced these and most were early: 8-7, 7-14, 9-1, 9-6, 7-11, 8-9, 9-1, and 9-7!

Let's hear about all you Greek Chatters!:D

greeklawgirl 01-25-2002 10:14 PM

6 pounds, 2 ounces...and two weeks early. :)

KillarneyRose 01-25-2002 10:23 PM

I weighed 5 lbs, 14 ounces (yes, my mom was/is a smoker  ) My daughters weighed in at 8 lbs even and 8 lbs, 2 ounces.

Unregistered- 01-25-2002 10:55 PM

9 pounds...7.5 ozs. 2 days early...natural birth.

I don't know how I fit inside my mother...she's a tiny one!

AlphaGam1019 01-25-2002 11:07 PM

I believe I was 7lbs and 5 ounces.

I missed the St. Patricks' Day party by 21 mins.

NeonPi 01-25-2002 11:08 PM

6 lbs, 7 oz ... and breech (feet first - still serious back then in ol' 71!)

Born on Victoria Day (the actual holiday) May 24th

The1calledTKE 01-25-2002 11:11 PM

I was 9lbs 11 ounces. My sister was 11lbs 9ounces. My mom did not have a c-section for either of us!

carnation 01-25-2002 11:22 PM

zntke--

Has your mother forgiven you two yet?

The1calledTKE 01-25-2002 11:25 PM

Yah, she doesn't see how women that have smaller babies complain so much. She said she wished we were smaller.

Optimist Prime 01-25-2002 11:35 PM

I was about seven pounds. And breech. The cord was wrapped around my neck and if my mother would have deleviered me the normal way i would have been strangeled to death the second i was born. So i was a c-section. Plus i was like, 2 weeks late

AGDLynn 01-26-2002 12:15 AM

3.7 lbs. - - 2 months early. I was supposed to be born around Christmas, but I couldn't wait..didn't want to miss that Halloween candy! ;) :p

I was born on Earth Day...woohoo!!!:D

amycat412 01-26-2002 03:57 AM

6lbs, 7oz and 3 1/2 weeks early. :) I was due on May 7th, my dad's birthday, but I was born on April 12th--a week after my mom's birthday.

bruinaphi 01-26-2002 04:49 AM

6 lbs. 3oz. and one month early. AmyCat, kind of a funny aside, I was due on my mom's birthday, which is one week before my dads but was born the on my great grandma's birthday. I was the first born and my mom was only in labor for 45 minutes. I think that is why she loves me so much. My youngest two sister were 9 lbs and 10.5 lbs (one on time and the other 2 weeks late). We were all natural births.

justamom 01-26-2002 09:34 AM

7 lbs 5 0z
daughter 7 lbs 11 oz
son 7 lbs 5 oz

aephi alum 01-26-2002 01:51 PM

I was 7lbs 9oz, I think. 1 week late.

My husband was over 9lbs and a month late - delivered by c-section.

I hope I have small babies... :)

ZTAngel 01-26-2002 02:04 PM

6 pounds 5 ounces. I was a week and a half late. I was supposed to be born Valentine's Day.

Miami1839 01-26-2002 02:31 PM

I was supposed to be born on valentines too. dont know what I weighed though. I'll have to ask my mom. lol 2 hours and 3 minutes early.

CkretCrush8 01-26-2002 03:29 PM

7 pounds 9 ounces...i have no idea of if i was early, on time, or late:rolleyes:

Siobhan 01-26-2002 03:38 PM

7 pounds, 6 ounces and born smack dab right on time - that's probably why I'm always ultra punctual for everything :)

DeltAlum 01-26-2002 03:39 PM

I don't remember. I was really young at the time.

Lisa Fishman 01-26-2002 04:23 PM

I was 7 pounds even and 21 inches long when I was born.

IowaHawkeye 01-26-2002 04:51 PM

I was 8 lbs 11 ounces - but my younger sister was a fatty, 11 lbs and 15 ounces - and my mom (who is an ob-gyn) gave birth to her w/o a c-section or any drugs - how she did it is a mystery, oh the pain!!!

SparkliiQTMTSU 01-27-2002 04:23 PM

I weighed 7 lbs 9 oz. :) hehe I was a cute baby!!

Nichole

ZetaLuvBunny 01-27-2002 05:33 PM

 Wow IowaHawkeye---your sister was ELEVEN POUNDS?!? I thought I was a big baby at 9 pounds 1oz (born natural)! I was really "long" though at 21.5 inches. Haha we should start a new thread about length j/k. What's everyone's length anyway, and did you have hair when you were born?

SATX*APhi 01-27-2002 05:45 PM

8-7! :)

BearyCuteAPhi 01-27-2002 05:46 PM

I weighed 6 lbs 7 oz.:D

Ronnie

33girl 01-27-2002 08:51 PM

I was seven pounds even.

My dad (depending on whom you ask) was 12-13 pounds. And this was an at home birth in the late 1920's. Needless to say, he is the youngest child in his family.

LexiKD 01-28-2002 03:29 AM

6lbs. 10oz. 21'' tall (it's on pillow from Grandma)

I was on time, the same day the doctor said.

AOPiTerp 01-28-2002 04:10 AM

i was 3-9. I was due on Valentines Day, but decided that December 26th would be more fun.

aopirose 01-28-2002 12:07 PM

Me - 5 lbs. 4 oz. - Mom was a smoker but also a small woman.

Hubby - 5 lbs. 2 oz. - Mom never smoked but is a small woman.

Son - 6 lbs. 12 oz. - I am small. Son was natural but labor was induced two weeks early because he was getting huge. I was moved from the birthing unit to a delivery room in case I needed an emergency C-section. Thank goodness it didn't come to that.

Alphagam-alum reminded me! Drugs are good!

winnieb 01-28-2002 12:58 PM

I was 8lbs 14oz. My hubby was about the same---
my boys were 8lbs 12oz-- and 9lbs 13.5oz!! The second one was a big one--thank God for csections and drugs!!! :)

AOPiLaLa 01-28-2002 03:48 PM

I was 6 pounds 10 ounces and a month late! They had to induce my mom because I was not coming out. My brother was 7 pounds 10 ounces and a C-section. The funny thing is if you talk to my mom, I was the most beautiful baby she had ever seen and if you talk to my dad, my brother was the most beautiful baby he had ever seen. So I guess all that stuff about just being happy if it was a healthy baby was crap--my mom wanted a girl and my dad wanted a boy. And they both got what they wanted!

juniorgrrl 01-28-2002 05:28 PM

I was about 7.5 lbs I think. Born on my due date, 2 days after Mardi Gras.

My mom was at Mardi Gras right before I was born (the family-oriented parades, not the french quarter debauchery ;) ) and she says she thinks the drums got me moving :)

ErikaXO 01-28-2002 09:19 PM

I was my mommy's 30th birthday present.....I was a nice, average 7 lb 10 oz, born 3 days before her b-day in '72. Now I should have had whopper-sized babies because I was decent size, I am a taller woman, and my husband was huge by twin standards.....he was well over 6 lbs as was his brother. But my daughter was born at 38 weeks (induced due to her tiny size) weighing 4 lb 13 oz. My son was born at 36 weeks (due to me having preeclampsia) weighing 5 lb 3 oz. He might have been fairly big had I made it to term.....I had an u/s at about 32 weeks that estimated he would be between 7 1/2 and 8 1/2 lb at birth.

I might add, once tiny always tiny at least in my family. My daughter is now 3 and she only weighs 26 lbs and is just over 3 feet tall.....such a petite little girl. My son is now 16 months old and weighs 21 lb and is 30 1/2 inches. His 5 month-old cousin outweighs him!!!!!!!

I remember when I was pregnant with my older daughter and we would to to church, she would always "dance" to the organ music. To this day, she's very musically inclined!

cutetiger 01-29-2002 12:37 AM

I was 7 lbs. 6 oz. and was 2 weeks late.

ShaedyKD 01-29-2002 02:07 AM

7 lbs. 7oz, born on Pearl Harbor Day, December 7th. 3 weeks early, which I am SO glad about, because I would have hated to have been born on the 21st. A December birthday is bad enough, what with the holidays and all. My twin's (in KD) birthday is Christmas, and she always gets shafted!

SSS1365 01-29-2002 11:37 AM

I was about 8 lbs and I was super late (like 2 weeks)... I think my mom was probably starting to wonder if I'd ever come out! But I came out perfectly healthy... I like to say I was fashionably late ;)
