Bachelor/Bachelorette Parties
 

OK, this conversation came up with me and some friends the other nigth b/c one just got engaged.

How far would you want your finance(e)'s bachelor/bachelorette party to go? Would you want them to have a stripper or not. Would you prefer them to have it a calm and relaxed or would you just want them to have a wild night and get it all out?

I wouldn't mind if she had a wild or calm one. As for a stripper she could have one there is just no touching allowed by both parties.

I hope that she saves some wildness for me. ;) But I would want her to have fun. I'd want a stripper, so she can have one too.

I'm alright with crazy if it is all looky no touchy!

I'm not real big on the idea of celebrating your upcoming marriage by doing some of the things that are now considered "conventional." I have known several guys whose "bachelor parties" consisted of going to Vegas for the weekend and blowing most of the honeymoon fund....some who have bypassed the strippers and gone straight for the hookers (sorry pal wedding's off!!!!!) etc.

At the time I was a lot more anal about the whole stripper thing than I am now, especially since I have been to strip bars since and after seeing what the strippers actually look like I definitely have nothing to worry about!!!!!! At the time we both agreed not to have anything like that, we'd just go out with our friends and get wasted, and we also vowed to end up together that night and spend the night together so we'd both know where the other ended up (which is where the real debauchery took place heh heh!!!) Now I don't see a problem with it as long as both agree to it and both are doing it.....if the guys have a blowout with 5 strippers and a limo and the girls have a "Bridal tea" then something is wrong.

Both my husband and I went to strip clubs for our bachelor/ette parties. They stripped to thongs... I don't think "totally nude" is allowed in Massachusetts. (One of my husband's groomsmen actually wanted to drive 60 miles each way to an all-nude club in Rhode Island. I put the kabosh (sp?) on that idea :) ) Afterwards, the guys and girls all got together in our apartment to watch Sex Trek... we're both big science fiction fans, and the porn parody is hilarious :)

It was all "look but don't touch" and there were no totally nude strippers - so it was ok in my book. :) I would not have wanted either of us to have a private party or anything, though.

I don't know-strippers don't really bother me, and I guess you expect that guys will have one at the bachelor party. I wouldn't want one at mine because I think they're cheesy, and I'd rather go out drinking with my girls. If Hunny did have one at his party, no big deal, but if it went any further that looking..well, there wouldn't be a wedding. Hunny and I discussed it, and he's not into going to strip clubs, and told me he'd rather have the type of party his brother did: a bunch of guys went out to a lakehouse for a weekend, drank beer, fished, played poker...guy stuff. Which I think is a cool alternative to the usual "get drunk and grope strippers" party.

Exotic Dancers and Escorts at a Bachelor party are a fine honored tradition. I would hate to violate something so sacred, and at the same time monetarily deprive an important part of the entertainment private sector.

That being said I would hope my party would be similar to the one in the movie Bachelor Party: minus maybe the Father showing up . . . but definitely inluding the Mule.

If any of you girls had a bacholorette party would you touch his stuff if he let you.

If I were drunk enough and he were hot enough, Miami, who knows????? Things are different for me now than they were in '94!!!

Hey just a suggestion guys......FAR more fun than going to the strip joints with your buddies is going with your favorite female.....buy HER the lap dance and enjoy the show.....!!!!;)

I hear ya Erika :). Getting my favorite girl a lap dance sounds a novel idea but why get one if she'll do it for me for free. :D

Personally I had no probs with Art having a stripper for a bachelor party...but he ended up not even having a party at all!!!! His best man was in Texas, he was in Florida, and his groomsmen were in Boston and Nova Scotia (and all of them came to Nova Scotia only 2 days before the wedding!!!) Art did go out after the rehearsal dinner to a strip club and the casino with his brother (Best man) and a friend from university, but that was it!!!

I didn't have a stripper at my bachelorette...we went on a pub crawl! It was such a blast! I am kind of afraid of what my girls have planned for me. I am generally known as someone who is...well...a prude. People think it's funny. At least I'm not a hooch! Anyway, I'm not that prudish, it's just that I am slightly innocent and people think that's cute. Anyhow, this makes me think that people will want to get a stripper for me, which would totally gross me out...I mean, some oily stranger in a banana thong dancing up on me...don't think so! I want to do something fun like an 80's retro girls night out where we all wear 80's clothes or something and go to Polly Esther's or Boogie Nights. I don't want to be so drunk that I don't remember it or go to LaBare or anything. Especially since I am moving away and I want to have a quality time with my sisters and friends before leaving :)

Once again, I'm not normal but... If a stripper is involved, I guess I'd prefer it to be at a strip club. Big deal. Its not like the boy is anything other than a tip to the chic.

As for me, I've been to a male strip joint. I still have nightmares. No thanks.

When i was working at a restaurant in college, a bachelorette party came in and they were playing the Lifesaver game. Its where the party puts unwrapped lifesavers (im sure other candy will do too) all over the bride-to-be's shirt and they have to get guys to bite them off. Would you particapte in this?

I've already told ALL my friends that no one will be sucking anything off of me when I have a bachelorette party. I will not run around in a shirt that says I'm a bachelorette, I will not have a checklist of stupid stuff to get, I will not wear a veil. So, short answer, no.

Ugh, It would never occur to me to have a male stripper at my bacherlorette party. It's just not my thing, at all. Furtherore, the idea of touching his skanky bits and pieces? HELL NO. That's disgusting.

If my boyfriend wanted to have a stripper with his guy friends, that's fine. I wouldn't be marrying someone who I didn't trust, so I don't think I'd worry one bit.

I don't think I'd like the "suck for a buck" - as it's commonly called in Nova Scotia! We did wear t-shirts that said "Vera's Bachelorette Bash" on them...and my girls got me a veil and tiara...which I loved...it got me free drinks from guys all night long!!!!:D:D

Well, I don't plan on wearing a veil on my wedding day so I'd look pretty odd wearing one for the party. I was a rebel. Didn't even have one at age 7 for my first communion.

Sure it is okay, though probably better in a club than a 'private party', but I find it a bit disrespectful. I think that a night out at Hooter's would be a better idea.

I love this thread as I am currently writing the Bachelorette Party chapter of my novel--keep the stories coming-- Has anyone gone to Vegas for theirs?? Or travelled to someplace outside of their hometown??

I definately would never want a male stripper, would never allow people to bit stuff off me. I resect engagement. When i have a bacheloretter party I want a day at the spa and then end it with a sort of secret santa type thing where we all have drawn a name, but instead of normal gifts we get sex toy gifts. I think it owuld be hilarious to see what kinds of stuff people buy. If htere was a male stripper I owuld laugh bc I think men dancing in combat boots and a thong is hilarious- they look silly.

i really liked the AlphaSig's idea of going to a spa and then having a secret santa thing. that would be cool. or i like the idea of each of us going out with out friends and then meeting up at night so that we both know where the other is and can wake up on our wedding day together... thas romantic.
as for bachelor/ette parties. i dont want any sweaty, gyrating man coming near me at all. its not appealing. as for my boyfriend, he said he doesnt like that either but i've met his friends so they would probably get a stripper for themselves... lol
