Real World: Chicago
 

I just wanted to see if anyone else caught the seaon premiere of Real World 11 last night. I think the new cast is much better than New York, so far. They seem alot more interesting and likeable--except for Theo. I already can't stand him. You can tell the producers just put him in there to cause trouble. His player attitude, cockiness, and homophobia are gonna get old quick. What was Aneesa thinking when she got in the shower with him? Aside from that, I think this will be a good season.

A couple of other things I noticed: Everyone in the cast is good looking. Like, just-stepped-out-of-a-magazine-goodlooking. That should lead to alot of hooking up (the previews made it seem like that). Also, I'm not sure if someone already brought this up, but Keri (the girl from New Orleans) is a ZTA. They showed her wearing a Bid Day t-shirt.

Kyle went to my high school.

is Kyle the beautiful one from Stevenson? if so, DeltaBeta - you are damn lucky ;) I bet we know half of the same people b/c i have tons of friends from Stevenson at Iowa!

I noticed too that everyone on this cast is beautiful - i think its going to be a good season though - they get to be lifegaurds on lake michigan beaches - how fun!

I LOVED Kari and I'm excited she's a ZTA - I don't know how I missed her Bid Day shirt though. I was *trying* to study at the time so that could be why.

Does anyone else think it's odd to start a new season in January? For as long as I can remember, the seasons have begun every June. New York (this season's) began in June, and I'm just wondering why this one started so early. Any ideas? Also, I'm curious to see if they were in Chicago when 9/11 happened - their reactions and such.

i remember reading that the production crew didn't want to put up with chicago winters, b/c lets face it, they can be rough. so normally they tape the shows over valentines day - but for chicago they taped over the summer. i want to say they finished up taping in august and that they were not there for 9/11

Other 2 girls: I think they were chosen b/c they look good in a hot tub.

Tonya is from Walla Walla Washington- Hooray for a native Washingtonian!:D But I think that the pre-shows alluded to her being very closed minded and a problem.. so we'll see.. plus, I saw her wearing a University of Washington Shirt.. even if she doesn't go there, she's still a Husky (Our rival state school)!

Kerri's hot. Kyle will probably hook up with her. I hope he at least breaks up with his girlfriend first though. What a lucky bastard.

I was really not impressed with Tonya. I hate how RR always puts someone on the show who has supposedly lived a sheltered life. Being that I am from the south, it kind of bothered me when she was on the train with the black guy from the house (I can't remember his name) and was like, I don't feel comfortable around Black people. This is America people! Get over it.

If you put someone in a situation they havent been in before, or around people they have never been around, ofcoarse they are going to be un-comfortable.

Cara is a fuggin HOTTY!!!!

They'll have a new Real World out this fall as well. It will be in Las Vegas. Taping is going on right now.

I think the people in this season are going to spend most of their time in that group shower!

So far I don't really like Anessa, Theo, or Tonya. I'm really curious as to why Tonya has a problem with Theo because he's black but not Anessa? Keri, Kara, Chris, and Kyle seem more down to earth and likable.

My favorite scene from the firstb episode was the four girls talking..."Are you psycho...I am so not psycho" Well, they will be by the end of the season!!! ;)

I believe that Kyle is a Beta Theta Pi from Princeton. His little sister is a ZTA at my school.

And Chicago winters aren't even that bad really, hahahaha. I take it there won't ever be a real world Buffalo?

I think a lot of times, a black man is seen as more "threatening" :rolleyes: than a black woman. Stereotypes and all that... Sad, but true. :(

Okay....to me, it didn't look like she had a problem with him after talking to him for a while. She was running around the house and giggling with him when they got there. Maybe she just wasn't used to it. At least I hope so. :)

Ok - so Im watching RW Chicago - and they show the "This season on the Real World" clips - and I couldnt help but bust out laughing I know you cant help where you come from. That girl Tonya from Walla Walla Washington...I saw her running through the hall so dramatically and screaming "I dont need this, Im going back to Walla Walla". LOL - How can she say that with a straight face? Hehehe Walla Walla!

it's my understanding they were there on the day of the attack and didn't wrap taping until closer to november.

Looks like an interesting season.

I am guessing it was a rerun, but I saw the first episode last night. The only one I have ever watched was when they were in the Firehouse...(don't remember wich one it was) but I think I will watch the rest of this one. It seems really good...Keri and Cara are so cute! Tonya is too, but I think she is gonna be one of the sensitive-worriedaboutherboyfriend-types of girls. but it should be good.
I am with ya TriSigmaTX, Dallas would be great for RW!!! Can you imagine them partying in Deep Ellum?

Okay...MTV would never go to Dallas when they could go to Austin. Think about it...they always try to be so hip and trendy and everything, they would insist upon Austin. Don't get me wrong, I love Dallas. I go there all the time and even went to school there for a year and a half, but it just doesn't seem like as logical of a choice by MTV sellout standards. I would put it in Dallas if I got to choose though :)
