82 Years Ago....
Five uncommon women joined by a singular idea banded together to create an organization that would forever change the face of historically Black Greek Letter Organizations. These exemplary women -- Arizona Cleaver Stemons, Viola Tyler Goings, Fannie Pettie Watts, Myrtle Tyler Faithful, and Pearl Anna Neal - established a sisterhood around principles that all Zeta Women hold near and dear to their hearts.
From this dream came a worldwide vision serving communities in the United States, Africa, Europe and Asia. We, the women of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated vow to hold fast to our founders' vision, keeping it close to our hearts, safeguarding our Legacy and holding our Zeta Light aloft as a beacon for the entire world to follow. On this most auspicious occasion, I wish to thank our most beloved and illustrious Five Pearls for having the foresight to depart from the traditional coalitions for college-educated African American women. Because of their tireless efforts I and thousands upon thousands of college educated women of all backgrounds have walked the Zeta path and rededicate ourselves to upholding the principles of Scholarship, Service, Sisterly Love and Finer Womanhood. We have accomplished much, but our work is never done. Let us continue to reach for greater heights, to meet greater challenges, and to further advance our cause to leave our world in better shape than we found it. Happy birthday, Sorors, and let us strive for continued success in the years to come. |

I guess I'm feeling it moreso than ever this year since I'm so far away from any other Zetas. My sorors in the cyber chapter of Greekchat and FinerWoman.com have shown me so much love...I'm completely rededicated to the Zeta ideals.

I was so touched by the words of Soror SoTrue1920. Sometimes, in the midst of all the drama, we can forget what is truly important-and when all is said and done, I think our founding principles say what really matters. Finerwomanhood, scholarship, service and sisterly love-still timeless and appropriate EIGHTY-TWO years later!

I am touched by the Words of SoTrue1920 See Soror you Made me Have Tears of Joy I woke up this Morning I was like Man 82 Years of Service My Mom came over and said Happy Founders Day Because Everyone in my Family is Zetas and Sigmas so I am Legacy But everyone Morning I thank God for allowing me to see another Day but Most of all for blessing me to be a ZETA So HAPPY FOUNDERS DAY to all my Sorors I love each and every one of you and when you need me you know you can Lean on your Sister *smile* May God continue to bless each and everyone of you*:) :D :)

Happy Founder's Day Sorors! I wrote a lil something too...here goes...
On January 16, 1920, 5 young women dared to depart from the coalitions of the Sororities already established to form a new Sorority. These 5 trailblazers were determined to establish a Sorority based not on elitism but rather selectiveness with obtainable standards such as Scholarship, Service, and Sisterly Love. Later these 5 women were to add one of the most distinguishing tenets of this great Sorority, to which no other Sorority can compare, Finer Womanhood. 82 years, 600 chapters, and over 100,000 thousand women later, Zeta Phi Beta stands PROUDLY above the rest. It is with great love that I wish all of my Beautiful, Intelligent, Proud, Determined, Graceful, and Stylish Sorors of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Innnnnnnnncorporated a very Happy Founder's Day! As we celebrate this beautiful day, let us all remember how EXTRAORDINARY our Founders are and how EXTRAORDINARY we are! ZZZZZZZZZZ PHIIIIIIIIIIII !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
