How do you guys feel about dirty rushing, particularly snatching rushees or pledges from other sororities?

I don't think you're going to find anyone on GC saying that they like dirty rushing.

We never would. It's so not the way we want our sisters. We do do snap bidding on campus but all chapters here do it, so it's not dirty

yah, we would do dirty rushing (yes, i recognize the grammatical error). we love it. but we suck and we won't get girls if we don't, so we swear by dirty rushing. we have a whole training session on it actually consisting of classes such as:

how to get them to suicide 101
why we need numbers: a phiolosphical discussion
clean rush + dirty rush = great big huge house - first year mathmatics course
and of course, the course everyone wants to get into
dirty rushing - a course in methodology

imporant lesson to learn. ask a stupid question on greek chat like 'would you guys dirty rush' expect a sarcastic answer.

Um, helloooooooo. Do you honestly think that anyone is going to seriously say yes to that????? Dirty rushing is called "Dirty Rushing" for a reason, dear. #1 It's illegal per NPC regulations #2 It causes problems among Greeks on campus if it occurs... Want me to give you further reasons for why we don't do it??? There are at least 100 more.

OK, I too am sick of seeing a lot of the same questions over and over. But I am even more sick of people just snapping back with "do a search!" I realize this is a lose-lose situation, but maybe couldn't we have a FAQ or something? I think that if you're going to tell someone to do a search, at least answer their question and advise them to do a search from now on. Simply snapping at a first-time poster is no way to get new posters. I started reading and posting a while back before these "do a search!" posts got common. And apparently I don't find them as entertaining as the rest of you guys do. If I had started posting on Greek Chat now and had gotten such responses, I would have been really turned off and would probably not want to post ever again.

Am I the only one who feels like this?

I see it like this: if you can read a post & decide that you want to reply, but you hadn't registered, you can do a search. If you can click on the link that reads "next oldest topic" or "next newest topic," you can do a search. WHY? Because the search link is near all of them. There IS a FAQ section, not only for the organization boards, but for the Greek Life board as well. From grades K through 3 one learns to read. From grade 3 AND ON one READS TO LEARN. That's all we're asking people to do. READ and you may LEARN something.

I think that the only posters who are getting snapped at are the ones who are saying (drum roll, pleeeeease) something stupid. A young lady asked about U Alabama rush specifically and pr directed her to the appropriate place very sweet & nicely. There's a difference between posters who are new and just need some direction to find what they need, and those who are purposely being a pain.

I can see were Kappagirl is coming from though. That search engine is hard to figure out, and nothing your looking for comes up. At least, nothing I'm ever looking for.

Just did a quick search using "RUSH" as the forum (BIG surprise there!) and "Dirty Rush" as the search for words...in all of 3 seconds (and even on this slow thing), here's what I got....

I know that the search thing can be aggravating, but at least TRY it before posting the exact same thing on here. I have seen messages pop up, and not even disappear off the current page before another one comes up. I don't really care if people think I'm being rude -- I think it would be rude to visit your friends and ask them the same exact questions that you asked them yesterday, and the day before, and so on, just because you either didn't stop to think *hmmm - didn't I just ask this question* or you think *hmmm - I don't like the answer I got, maybe I'll keep on posting it*

I am relatively new to this forum, but am not new to the Greek world. I am surprised by the attitudes of some of the people on this chat forum. No one deserves to be treated like they're a f&*$ing idiot just because they couldn't find something on the search option. There are so many helpful, kind sisters and brothers on this site, that I'd hate to think that a few mean-spirited people could take away from that impression. Just my .2 .

msauburn, look at all the posts by "somethinstupid" and you'll see why we have lost our patience....she can't even get the name of the organization she allegedly belongs (or belonged) to right. The "half-a$$ed post hall pass" has been WAY overused by this particular individual.
