Maps!!

Alright everyone, here is the official map thread. As I make more of these bad boys I'll post them, and anyone else with fun maps is more than welcome to contribute.

Not the same expansion-type map, but I did convert DGs "Sweet Home Delta Gamma" board on Pinterest to a map board. It just shows housed chapters or chapters with suites (if I could find photos).

You can see the map here: http://www.pinterest.com/deltagamma/...e-delta-gamma/

So THAT's how that works. Thanks... I had been ignoring that feature.

What school did Alpha Phi colonize in south Oregon?

I think it's supposed to be Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington. Walla Walla is about in that spot only one state up. To my knowledge, there is no college in that area of Oregon. There is definitely no greek life in that area if there is a college.

Dnpgopenguins 12-27-2013 07:40 AM

I thought it was suppose to be Whitman, and I don't think there is even a college in that part of Oregon. Thanks for the information.

ColdInCanada11 12-27-2013 10:54 AM

I just realised you colour coded the pins to each specific group- you are the best!!

I messed up, guys! Y'all are right. I'll fix it later tonight.

Thanks! I hope I got the colors for AGD right-I realized after I had finished that your colors aren't traffic light colors, so I tried to make the yellow a little more buff-y.

Clemsongirl, please add a pushpin for Chi Omega at Cal Poly - SLO.

AOII Angel 12-29-2013 04:24 PM

I don't think I realized DPhiE had been so prolific. Good job ladies!

I thought the same thing when I saw their map. Very impressive!

Will do! I thought I'd gotten that one but clearly that is not the case.

This is just awesome. What fun to see how Panhellenic is growing I don't see Lehigh for KD. Or am I missing it?

Lehigh is there behind the white and dark green marker. It's the white one (indicating future) that I am trying to figure out.

clemsongirl, love these!

Shellfish 12-30-2013 12:27 PM

The white pin in Pennsylvania is West Chester. We should also have one in Virginia for VCU, or is that one of those expansions that are indefinite?

I added a pin for VCU-it seems like at this point half of the NPC has a stacked colonization there. Thanks for pointing that one out.

DubaiSis 12-30-2013 01:30 PM

I think they're desperately trying to keep chapter size down, and with no housing, why not? It's an easy one for the NPC sororities to get on board with.

Forgetmenotivy 12-31-2013 09:50 AM

On the Alpha Phi map you have 2 pins in SC. We only have one chapter, Clemson in SC. I think you want the bordeaux pin in CT. We established a chapter at UConn in 2008.

pinksequins 12-31-2013 03:26 PM

Forgetmenotivy, the second pin is in Georgia for Georgia Tech. Alpha Phi's UConn chapter is not "pinned" because its installation predates 2008 - 2009 school year.

Forgetmenotivy 01-02-2014 10:04 AM

pinksequins, thanks for the reply. I couldn't see the stateline between GA & SC so I couldn't understand two pins in SC. You are correct Uconn was chartered in the spring of 2008 not in the fall. I really like the maps. They are fun to look at.

pinksequins 01-02-2014 03:42 PM

That's okay FMI! I had trouble figuring out some AGD and KD map pins until I looked really closely at state lines. I agree that these maps are fantastic ! Thank you, Clemsongirl!!

clemsongirl 01-02-2014 08:44 PM

Thanks guys! I apologize for some of the difficulty in locating the pins-there are so many in some cases and I had to fight to balance overall readability with not making the maps to huge. I'm glad y'all like them so much:)

ASTalumna06 01-02-2014 08:52 PM

Every time this thread is bumped, I assume a new map has been added. Such a tease!

AOII for our Founders' Day?:D Just Joking! I know we are a big undertaking since we are just running around willy nilly. Take your time, little college student.;)

AXiDTrish 01-02-2014 11:49 PM

If an Alpha Xi Delta map is created can I use it to show my college girls our growth? It will make a fantastic visual. These maps are fabulous!!

I may or may not have been procrastinating on a couple groups with tons of expansion just because I know they'll take longer;) I'll get them all done by Wednesday, hopefully, because then classes will start and I doubt I'll have much time to continue.

Of course you can! Just give me credit for making it, I suppose...I didn't really think about anyone else using these, honestly. I probably should have put a watermark on them.

Haha, aw.. you're too nice! Thanks! :)

And way to go, Theta Phi Alpha! Yet another GLO I didn't know was colonizing like crazy.

WOOT WOOT! I can't deny, I've been checking this thread every time it is bumped to see if it was our turn!

Now I just need KSUViolets to tell me where the pins are

You rock, clemsongirl! I wish I knew how to make one of these. Alas...I am directionally challenged and apparently somewhat tech challenged.

ASTalumna06 01-03-2014 12:16 PM

I really am loving all the expansion in the north/northeast!

Once all the maps are posted, I'm tempted to count the colonies/new chapters per state. It seems like some of them have new NPC chapters popping up everywhere!

That sounds like a really interesting idea to plug into an Excel spreadsheet...I may have to do that when I'm done with the last few maps!

clemsongirl 01-03-2014 11:55 PM

Happy Founders' Day, AOII!

http://i1230.photobucket.com/albums/...4/aoiicopy.jpg

P.S. Apologies for using white for some of the pins, but stretching a single color into an entire set of pins was very difficult.

txAOII_15 01-04-2014 12:06 AM

clemsongirl, you are the BEST ever!

Sciencewoman 01-04-2014 12:37 AM

Clemsongirl, I really hope Clemson beats Ohio State tonight, to reward you for your efforts! (like that's the only reason ;))

(although I do hope our Ohio State colonization goes well...I'll give in to that).
