Navy blue middle round dress needed...suggestions?
My daughter needs a navy blue dress for the second/middle round of January recruitment. Navy blue seems to be hard to find this year...if anyone has time to look for suggestions, please post them! Classic and conservative is in order.
|
I have not seen anything, but I know that sites like Macy's and Dillards will allow you to search all dresses by color, so perhaps that will help.
|
^^^All I've been able to find so far are "ocean blue" -- navy doesn't seem to be in the color palette this year.
|
Lilly has a bunch. Would this work?
http://www.lillypulitzer.com/product...Name=True+Navy Dillards had this one - which might be better if it will be cold. http://www.dillards.com/product/Adri...628181_zi_navy Macy's had a couple that were on sale... http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/t...%26slotId%3D42 |
^^^ Thanks! I don't think she'd like that style well enough to wear it again...she likes fitted or fit and flair. I think she'd be safe with Lilly for wardrobe check. We'll have to be sure, since she has recruitment right after break. What about these two:
http://s7d1.scene7.com/is/image/suga...op_usm=0.8,0.5 Kind of blah, but a safe Lilly buy for only $88. This one is pricier, but more her style: http://s7d1.scene7.com/is/image/suga...op_usm=0.8,0.5 |

I love the second one, but if you took the first one, and found a cute belt and the right accessories, it could be great too. :)
|
I love that second Lilly style!
We have to wear navy blue dresses for our philanthropy round, mine is from J. Crew. If you check out the bridal/bridesmaid section, they have some promotion running now for 30% off. It's expensive, but I'm actually wearing mine to a wedding over winter break as well! http://www.jcrew.com/wedding/Wedding_Bridesmaid.jsp And I know not everyone likes eBay, but it has been my SAVIOR for recruitment attire. I've gotten some J.Crew, Lilly, all NWT for a nice discount. ASOS also has tons of navy options: http://us.asos.com/women/ |

We wear navy for prefs, so here are all the options I've bookmarked while searching the last few months......we were told "daytime wedding" so some may be more/less fancy.

I've been looking for navy bridesmaids dresses and have seen a ton at Modcloth:
http://www.modcloth.com/shop/dresses...ght-moon-dress Some lace, though it looks boring in the picture. Zooming in made me think it would look nice. nordstrom This reminded of the Lilly dress, but it has some sequins. Nordstrom 2 Short sleeve lace. Depending on your daughter's endowment for how deep the v neck goes. |
^^^I think that modcloth one looks like her style. I'm sure she will appreciate all the suggestions. I'm picking her up at the airport later this afternoon.

I never log in anymore, but I thought I could also be of help!
http://www.modcloth.com/shop/dresses...-dress-in-navy This is another simple Modcloth find. I just bought it and wore it to a staff member's daytime wedding. It's really comfy! |

That's super cute...I think she will like that one, too! |
Haha! That's the dress I'm wearing as a bridesmaid!

I love the fit & flare style too. It's extremely flattering and usually dresses in that style are minimal yet sophisticated and feminine. Here are some of my favorite navy ones from modcloth. Just note that the second one is velvet, not sure what the policy on materials would be.

LOL - when I saw this thread title I thought "middle round" was a style of dress that I'd never heard of, not a reference to a particular round of recruitment. :p
How about this dress from Chico's? http://www.chicos.com/Product_Images...309_normal.jpg The color is listed as "India Ink" and it's on the pricey side, but it's a nice simple elegant style. |
Ann Taylor had some nice dresses and they were labeled navy blue, but they did not quite look to be the right color online. I would have to see them in person to know for sure.

Very cute navy dress found (on sale for $50 :)), gel nails in a neutral color done, haircut and brow waxing tomorrow. The last minute task is to bring a 4x6 black and white photo, which is needed for pref night. "Spirit Weekend" starts on Saturday, Recruitment starts Tuesday....
http://s7d4.scene7.com/is/image/BonT...10?$ibm_large$ I have to say that preparing a daughter for recruitment "on the other side" is MUCH less stressful! |
Oh that's cute! Where did you find it?
|
Thanks! We found it at Younkers
