I was listening to the radio and according to what was said, females with big booties are smarter and healthier than flat booty females. I thought this was interesting as hell. Peep it.


It looks like having a big butt and wide hips has more advantages than we thought!
A new study by the University of Oxford uncovers evidence that curvaceous women are more intelligent and most resistant to chronic illnesses. According to results, ladies with bigger backsides have lower levels of cholesterol, less heart problems and are less likely to get diabetes.
Scientists at Oxford argue that fat from the lower body produces “hormones that help to better metabolize sugars and other lipids, unlike abdominal fat secretes hormones with the opposite effect.”
Professor Konstantinos Manolopoulos, who leads the team at the University of Oxford, says that women with more fat on the buttocks have lower levels of cholesterol and glucose. Having a big butt also favors leptin levels in the female body, leptin is a hormone that is responsible for regulating the weight, and the dinopectina, hormone with anti-inflammatory, vascular-protective and anti-diabetic.
The adipose tissue of the buttocks big traps harmful fatty particles and prevent cardiovascular disease. Other interesting results of these investigations were apparently the children born to women with wider hips are intellectually superior to the children of mothers with “few hips”.
Similar studies conducted by the universities of California and Pittsburgh found that women with larger butts, wider hips and smaller waists may be smarter, too.

I read about this earlier today. Interesting. It should be noted, however, that having a healthy big booty doesn't = weighing 500 lbs. You know SOMEONE will interpret it that way.

It reminds me of the book In Defense of Food by Michael Pollan. Great book but seriously frustrating. In it he talks about how whenever the FDA was confronted with suggestion that Americans should eat less of something they always turned it around so that it said we should eat MORE of something else. We should eat less fat turns into we should eat more grains, as a for instance. They have (as he stated at least) NEVER told the American public, their constituents, to eat less of anything. Because presumably that would be harmful to somebody's bottom line.

So you've struggled and fought to keep your weight down but you just can't get rid of the tremendous rear view. Not to fret, weight below the waist isn't as dangerous. But I think the post ^^^ is exactly right. It will be read as free reign to grow that booty. Or at least justification to do nothing about it.

Even as a size 6, I had a booty. I think you either do, or you don't - I've seen plenty of women with excess weight who had flat butts.

I heard about this at least a year ago, so I don't think it's brand new. I told my daughter she could thank my butt for her giftedness and full-ride merit scholarship.

I didn't know there were so many big booty females on Greek Chat LOL. My wife got an ass that won't quit. I guess she'll be living a long time. She's also a teacher, and smart as hell. She's got her master's degree too. I guess she can contribute her success and her smarts to that ass LOL!

Mizeree, while some of us really do have tremendous booties, many (corrected myself from saying most) of the women here probably have perfectly normal to even small booties but think they are large. As a person who at one point had a size 4 waist and size 12 hips, I know the world of booties. And yes, I'd kill to have that impossible to buy for figure back.

Right. But that's because females are going look at their bodies differently than how we dudes see it. I know females who have nice, big booties, but want to lose it.

The "problem" is there is varying perspective on what having a "big butt" means. As far as I'm concerned, big butt does not mean the following:

1. Your butt is only "rotund" because you are obese.

2. Your butt is wide but flat. A wide ass is not automatically a phat ass.

I'm all for celebrating different body shapes and the beauty of the rotund rear. I just want women of the African diaspora around the world to remember that a healthy body image should not be confused with being unhealthy. I also want women of other races and ethnicities to stop jumping on the big butt bandwagon if your butt does not truly fit the criteria. This includes, but is not limited to, the white women singing the big butt song when instead they have a flat rear or a flabby rear. Needless to say, that doesn't pertain to all white women because there are white women with rotund bottoms just as there are women of the African diaspora with nonrotund bottoms.

The research in the OP is probably talking about any extra meat in the hips and rear end regardless of how it looks. However, most of the Black men in this thread probably have an image of what they consider "big butt".

I think there are a few things at play here. I will not use the word big because that is so subjective. IMO:

(1) the criterion that determines whether a woman has a round booty or not is whether her bottom looks like the letter C. These women have a round/curvy no matter what their weight/clothing size.

• The level of what the "C" looks like varies between women, but it should be pronounced to a degree. Otherwise it's normal and not particularly round.

(2) women with who have wide hips and/or store most of their fat in their lower body with a curvature in at the waist are generally classified as pear-shaped women.

A woman can have just (1)+(2). Or just (1) without wide hips or much fat in the rest of her lower body. Or just (2) with a flat butt.


The studies mentioned in the first post lump all these women who have a curvier lower body together, however the results may not apply to all women equally.

• The first one is talking about women whose booties have more fat versus women with booties that have a "normal" level of fat.
• The second one is talking about women with wider hips (does not necessarily mean a large booty but depending on how this was measured booty size can contribute).
• And the last one is talking about women with larger butts/larger hips and smaller waists.

I'm white. I have an amazing ass. It's not quite JLo, but it is not flat, or wide. But it is certainly deep.

As I said earlier, callipygous women can be found among all races. We tend to find them most among the race(s) we generally find most attractive.

I've seen some attractive women in every race, but I still have to give it to black women when it comes to beauty and sex appeal. I do trust a big butt and a smile Lol.

I'm still searching for the perfect brand of jeans that will not require a cinch at the waist in order to accommodate my rearest of assets.

I'm just CTFU at all the white girls up in here talking about or claiming to have a big booty. To a white boy, y'all probably have a big booty, and white dudes don't really get into that like we do. To a black dude, some of you "claim to be" big booty white females probably, more likely than not, have an ass as flat as a pancake LOL. I've never seen a big booty white girl. For the ones who I've seen that's bigger than normal for a white girl, have all been saggy big booties. Y'all are up here as if y'all have something to prove. Y'all have a seat LOL.

Hispanic is a category that includes people who identify as different races. Jennifer does not identify as Black Hispanic but she also doesn't identify as white Hispanic. Hispanic women in the US and abroad have a range of body types.

It's not something worth getting worked up about (I don't know if that's your goal), because I know the truth. Throughout my entire life, I've been hit on or asked out by more black men than white. And since all black men are into asses more than white men... shouldn't that say something by Mizi's standards?

Hispanic is a vast category that includes people who identify as Black (or African diaspora), white, and other racial and cultural identities. There are Hispanics who consider themselves Black or white. I don't think Jennifer Lopez is among them. Jennifer Lopez definitely does not consider herself white or white Hispanic. I said that because someone put her into the category of rotund rear white women.

LOL. This reminds me of when her dumb-rotund-ass followed Ja Rule's lead and said N in "I'm Real." She learned that many people of the African diaspora don't consider her African lineage to be close enough for that.

This also reminds me of Shahs of Sunset. They make fun of white people on that show. They also act as though the cast member who makes those natural earth products has a "badunkadunk." She has a wide rear but it isn't round. It looks rounder in certain outfits but I consider it rather flat. When she was rehearsing her performance I wondered where her "badunkadunk" went.

For the sake of conversation, I did some internet searching. I found this article, and am perplexed by why the author considers some of these ladies to have "ass." What? No. No. No. 95% of these do NOT have what I consider an "ASS." Some are nicely shaped, but still a size 4. No offense to them, but that's just a nice butt.

I know size 4 Black women with big rotund rears. That is one reason why clothing designers aimed at racial and ethnic minority women started making jeans and pants to fit different body types. These clothes were geared toward women who are "big in all the 'right' places" instead of having to wear larger sized clothes that don't fit their bodies except for their rear.

As for those photos, there's too much "arched backs" and airbrushing. I agree that they have nice figures but if I were to see them without the arched back and airbrush, I probably would see a firm and shapely rear but not a "big rotund rear."

On another note, I'm also not impressed by butt implants. Those are as impressive as breast implants.

I used to live in a neighborhood with a sizable Greek and Italian population, and there were several stores selling "big booty jeans." Basically they had a different waist to hip ratio from some "standard" American brands. My Greek roommate hipped me to the differences.

Exactly. It puts a different perspective on clothing sizes. Women who would otherwise be a size 4 usually wear much larger sizes to fit their rears. These women often wear pants that don't fit their waists.

I guess it is similar to having a small frame with larger breasts. However, I think it's easier to find shirts to fit a small frame with larger breasts than it is to find pants to fit smaller waists with larger hips and/or rears.

I would agree with that, I think tops can be more forgiving of larger breast size than jeans are of larger hip/butt size. Though I have heard that in recent years more companies have started cutting jeans for "curvy" women. I've bought a couple of these types and they fit better than the ones that fit at the hips and don't at the waist. Generally, though, I like the brands that are specifically designed for a curvier bottom half. Or jeans with a ton of stretch.

Other things annoy me more, though. For example, I have such trouble with dresses that are fitted through the hips that I generally don't even bother with them because it's usually not worth it to buy a dress several sizes up and then get the top portion tailored.

Based on the article, I guess it's safe to say that I have a long life ahead of me. Yes, I've been blessed back there.

How a person identifies themselves and what they really are are two different things. Hispanic is Hispanic. Point blank.
