Lyrics

you know, there are a lot of songs that i like but i sure do want to ask the artist or songwriter why they threw THAT line in there. for instance...

i want to ask keith sweat in what language does "shooby dooby dooby doo wop" mean "i love you?" :D

and do ya'll remember the first song that destiny's child released, "no, no, no?" i believe it is in the second verse where beyonce sings "you never had a girl like I." what in the world??!! kinda like lil bow wow's new song, "thank you," when he says "if you ride for we, i'm gone ride for you," when referring to his so so def fam. those are two of the most grammatically incorrect and ignant lines!

and, i was sho and the nuff jamming "feeling on yo' booty," but the title alone is pure craziness!! :p

anybody feelin me?

SweetestDiva 01-05-2002 04:50 AM

Girl! I am always LMAO at you! :D

I was trippin off "Thank You" too. Not only the "ride for we" but when he bust out with "FISH! Cause that's my favorite dish!" I was like whaaaa?

kiml122 01-05-2002 04:23 PM

MeezDiscreet and SweetestDiva :) ,

THe 2 of U have me cracking the hell up for real:D Now I am going to have to really listen to that Bow Wow song to hear that "ride for we".

CrimsonTide4 03-05-2002 09:04 AM

Little Richard's womp bomb . . . (can't even TRY to phonetically pronounce that to type it) :p

MeezDiscreet 07-09-2002 01:49 PM

maybe it's me

maybe i'm missing something in the song, but does bow wow ever specify what needs to be represented? all i hear is "represent that..." REPRESENT WHAT LIL BOY????

LMAO, You almost made me spit out my juice. I never thought about it quite like that. To answer your question, no I don't think he specifies what is being represented.

You know what irritates me? The song with Wyclef and Claudette. Don't get me wrong I love the song but at the end when Wyclef says "I won't stay on the block no more I'll come home early girl I promise." The first time I heard I was like WTF. I was really grooving to the song and then he barks that line and my groove is over. I just think he could have left that part out.

They still have me scratching my head with " Can you pay my automo bills?" It seems like at least one of those girls would have noticed something like that.

ykimber 07-11-2002 09:54 PM

Hey speaking of lyrics here is a page that has lyrics to all the song you though you knew the words to!
www.azlyrics.com

Terika03 07-29-2002 06:49 PM

My nomination of The most irritating lyrics of the summer goes tonon other than..... Truth Hurts ...... "you're so contagious, you turn my pages" What is THAT ? Slammin beat..but whack lyrics. She should've thought that line out a little bit longer.

She's saying, "He's so contagious, returns my pages." That makes sense... but I was actually disappointed b/c I kinda liked the idea of somebody turning my pages, lol. One of my friends still insists on singing it wrong anyway. :)

H** and Chickenhead...

I find those songs by Ludacris and Three Six Mafia to be so disrespectful. The lyrics "You's a H**", or "Bunk, Bunk, Chicken, Chicken, Bald-head 'Scallywag' ". I've seen times whenever these songs are played, some women will get up out of their seats yelling " 'Hey!!! That's my song' "!!!:(

Come on people, each woman has got to get to a point in her life where she won't tolerate a man -or anyone for that matter calling her that. That's not cool.

MeezDiscreet 09-24-2003 01:28 AM

ttt because....

what does "they call me mr. herringbone cuz that's my right-hand man..." mean? (lyric taken from the song "damn" by the youngbloods)

I think he means he has a herringbone bracelet on his right hand? That's how I took it, but again, I could be far far far away from the truth, lol.

tld221 03-21-2004 09:50 PM

im usually lovin mary j., but wtf was this:

Let's get it crunk, we gon' have fun
Up on in this, dance for me
We got ya open, now ya floatin'
So you gots to dance for me
Don't need no hateration, holleratin'
In this dance for me
Let's get it percolatin', while you're waiting
So just dance for me

i was like, "what is percolatin, and hateration, and holleration?!"

and maybe im late on seeing her new video (its a wrap) but that phrase is a good 2 years old...

Ok, Tamia's song Questions has me going hmmm...

Used to take me shopping...all the time
Used to go club hoppin'...all the time
Where you were I would be...all the time
Now all you do is leave me (BEHIND BOY)
Used to be your best friend, (REMEMBER )
We were close like cousins (REMEMBER)---WHAT???
Used to give me lovin' (AND NOW...)
All you're doing is trippin' (LADIES WHAT DO YOU THINK?...)

I absolutely hate that song. It sounds like something I made up in middle school. She is Tamia, she doesn't have to sing any of that JS crap to have a hit. She has a nice voice.

I had heard the song before but did not know who sang it until the other day. I thought to myself why does she for the most part sing about the bad side of a relationship so much? Sing Grant's praises, GURL!!!

There are 4 rims on the car. "4 voes"

Does me knowing this make me look ghetto as h***? I need to stop answering questions about Texas music, I don't want folks to get the wrong idea about us.;)
