Convention 2013

Is anyone attending Convention in Dallas? I am so excited to go! I am a Chapter Advisor and this will be my third Convention. I hope that some of you will be there!

nauadpi 06-13-2013 11:27 PM

I will be there. This is my first convention. I am going as the chapter advisor for the new Theta Pi chapter :-)

ASUADPi 06-14-2013 07:09 PM

Missing this one. I'll be at 2015 though as it is back in Phoenix. I "tend" to go to the ones in AZ as it is my home state. I've only been to one convention not in AZ and that was Boston. I hope everyone has a great time and hope to see y'all in 2 years!

ADqtPiMel 06-17-2013 07:04 AM

I'll be there for my second Convention, my first as an international officer.

azureblue 06-17-2013 06:41 PM

I am really looking forward to it! I am excited to see all of the new chapter flags during the Adelphean Processional!

Maybe in two years...

Thanks! I was appointed in February.

NPC Vice Chair Jean Mrasek (Chi Omega) is your speaker for the Panhellenic luncheon. Please tell me your thoughts on her speech.

Have a wonderful gathering!! Personally, I am in Convention withdrawal!

nauadpi 06-24-2013 01:14 PM

So far it looks like 3 of us.... Anyone else going to be there? And we should actually try to meet while we are there.

honeychile 06-24-2013 02:00 PM

Oh, please meet! And take pictures!

polarpi 06-26-2013 06:07 AM

Sorry, I haven't been on in a while !! I will be there as an advisor, third one!

Don't know if anyone will see this in time, but if we can meet up, let's definitely get a picture! :)

nauadpi 06-26-2013 09:35 AM

I am seeing this, but we should try to plan a meet up.

carnation 06-28-2013 05:40 PM

We just saw a photo on Facebook of one of the girls' friends as a flag bearer at the convention! She's a chapter president.

nauadpi 06-29-2013 07:09 PM

Ok. So let's make sure we plan to meet for a picture tonight. I know I have seen one of you. So PM me if you want to join in the picture but don't know how to find me.

polarpi 07-02-2013 12:38 AM

Hopefully nauadpi will getting her photos up....it was awesome to see everyone there (ran into azureblue at Sorority Spirit, but didn't get a picture - fun story, though - our collegians were roommates :))

Hoping that I'll be there in 2015, although nauadpi & I have already made our date for the 2051 Convention, so we can go through the 50-yr ceremony together at the 200th anniversary celebration! :D

NBH - I personally thought Jean's speech was phenomenal, as was her participation on the panel that went on after the luncheon. Chi Omega has a lot to be proud of with Jean in her role with NPC!

honeychile 07-05-2013 04:12 PM

Convention was fantastic this year...I can't wait for 2015 in Scottsdale! NutBrnHari, I thought that Jean Mrasak was incredible...what a wonderful representative for Chi Omega! I feel like she is going to do great things for our Panhellenic community.

Sisters, if you haven't been and ever get the chance to go to a Convention...DO IT! It was awesome and the best part was watching our collegians experience the big picture, interact with each other and make decisions to help move our sorority forward.

The chapter that I advise won a back-to-back Golden Lion, so that didn't hurt either :) <>

So glad you enjoyed your Convention (and Jean!). I think she's pretty terrific too. :)

My chapter didn't. :( I'm blaming the fact that I moved out of town on that unhappy statistic.

I like that analogy, honeychile! LOL

It is so hard to maintain that level of excellence over the years! Ms. Pinkston talked about reviewing award criteria at Convention, so who knows if it might even get more difficult!

madoug 07-17-2013 08:29 PM

I enjoyed it a great deal. I want Eta Epsilon to send more Delta members next time.

azureblue 07-17-2013 09:02 PM

I agree, madoug! We budgeted to send an Exec member (along with the President) this year and it was awesome. We asked all Exec members who were interested to write a letter about why they wanted to attend. I took all the names off, and the advisors and our PD voted. The letter with the most votes won! It was made it even more special!

ADPiEE 07-17-2013 09:09 PM

Does anyone know which chapters have received the most Golden Lions?

I'm an Eta Epsilon. I met the president at Convention and I may have seen you but not been introduced -- she said her advisor was there too.

I think it is Kappa/Samford. I heard that it was their 16th GL this year! Their flag is almost out of room!
