Arrested Development Season 4

Any Arrested Development fans out there? So excited for season 4 on Netflix coming May 26! Amazing that they are bringing the show back.

TPA85 05-13-2013 12:11 AM

Can't wait! Conveniently, Netflix sent me a "please come back" email with a free trial offer just in time. I'll be watching.

Here is the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5ddjzGft0k

As a friend of mine said.....I'm as excited as Buster after he has had juice!

MaryPoppins 05-13-2013 08:30 AM

The Poppins house is stoked!

BraveMaroon 05-13-2013 09:08 AM

Yep. I'm re-subscribing to Netflix just for Arrested Development.

And hopefully, to catch up on a few movies.

But really, I'm just there for the Bluths.

I need to watch the first few seasons--I have been told it is right up my alley. Hopefully I'll find some time to get into it after the move!

FSUZeta 05-13-2013 09:51 AM

It was the best show on TV. You MUST watch it lovespink88!

AXOrushadvisor 05-13-2013 10:53 AM

I can not wait!! We have been watching the reruns on Netflix. Seriously a good show and totally underrated like a couple of others we used to watch.

PiKA2001 05-13-2013 11:20 AM

I am so stoked! I'm actually planning on having a AD viewing party at my house that day. I especially love how they are releasing the whole season all at once.

My son is too, and he is asking that everyone who attends comes dressed as their favorite character.

chi-o_cat 05-14-2013 08:26 AM

Yes! I'll be watching!

There's always money in the banana stand.

Good one LXA SE285!

24 hours to go!!!

chi-o_cat 05-25-2013 04:09 PM

So where does everyone stand on watching all the episodes right away marathon-style, or spreading them out? My SO wants to watch them all at once, but I'd rather watch one or two at a time over an extended period. I feel like if I watch them all right away, when I get to end I'll feel like a kid the day after Christmas.

FSUZeta 05-25-2013 04:33 PM

I plan to marathon, and then rewatch and savor them one by one.

adpiucf 05-25-2013 09:37 PM

I'm with FSUZeta.

MaryPoppins 05-26-2013 12:21 PM

I don't care, I'm very excited! The SF Chronicle wrote an article without spoilers. Found the link for it at The Daily Beast.

I went to a friends birthday party last night. She is a huge AD fan. One of her friends showed up dressed as Tobias. He had blue paint smudges all over him. She LOVED it! (He also hid blue paint smudges all over her house... she found about half of them last night, but the other half she'll apparently be looking for a while. I think that was her favorite present she got all night.

AOII Angel 05-26-2013 07:14 PM

I'm watching it right now. Pretty funny so far.

Can't wait to get hom from NOLA tonight so we can start streaming it.

AOII Angel 05-27-2013 08:38 AM

Im in South Carolina watching it at a friend's house. I'm going to have to get Netflix when I get home so I can watch the rest of the season. We got through two episodes yesterday.

AXOrushadvisor 05-27-2013 08:59 AM

I don't think it is as good as the original. I know that all the characters came back but I'm wondering if it is the same team of writers or a different team? That could explain the difference.

Gusteau 05-27-2013 11:15 AM

I've never watched it, but it seems like the type of show I'd like. Are the first three seasons on Netflix as well?

Yes, Netflix has all of the original episodes. I never watched the show the first time around. My son got me started. I am part way through the first season right now.

So I'm only two episodes in but I'm not exactly impressed...Since AD was one of my all time favorite TV shows I had some high hopes but at the same time I realize that it's hard to recreate the genius that was AD 7 years after it went off the air.

AOII Angel 05-28-2013 09:12 AM

The format seems a little different, but episode 3 has some glimmers of the old AD. And, what has happened to Portia di Rossi? She looks like an alien!

adpiucf 05-28-2013 09:21 AM

I read somewhere they were trying to shoot around everyone's schedules, and I think that showed.

Admittedly, I don't feel like it's as good as the original, but give it a few more episodes - everything builds on everything else, and it starts getting funnier when you see the same event from several different perspectives.

I had hoped for more Maeby. I think she's super funny, and I find Alia Shawkat to be much more talented than her "cousin" Michael Cera, who plays one character brilliantly - in everything he does.

Reportedly the episodes are each designed to focus more on one character than the others. So I think we can expect to get a Maeby episode!

chi-o_cat 05-28-2013 06:37 PM

I'm 5 episodes in. So far George Sr's is my least favorite storyline.

I actually watched the Maeby episode last night, and I think one scene in particular will be much-loved by the folks on GC. You'll know it immediately when you see it.
