Most Deranged Sorority Girl
Warning: “Adult language”.
The Most Deranged Sorority Girl Email You Will Ever Read There are two things the Delta Gamma sorority's University of Maryland chapter refuses to tolerate. The first is Delta Gammas who are "LITERALLY being so f***ing AWKWARD." The second is young ladies who are "so f***ing BORING." |

You can't say she isn't competitive...
--and as bad as it is, whoever leaked the email is worse. |
I hope she's already been dismissed from Delta Gamma.
I also hope her parents got a chance to read this. |
You know....all I have to say is what my mother says to me....
You can say anything you want....its is how you say it that counts. The writer, should've read this over (after getting all her frustration out) and written it in a more appropriate manner. She does have some valid points, but that is going to get over looked because of how this email is written. Also, the person who leaked this.....so not a good thing |
There are reports it is a fake. Sure hope so.
|
Executive offices are working on finding the source of this email. It appears to be a fake and possibly written by a male. I hope that is the case.
|
Eh...we don't know her or the situation. We all have that one member who says what needs to be said and tact and decorum be damned. They're usually the person who gets crap done. Her sisters probably know to shake their heads and laugh.
|
Classy!
|
Y'all, this is hilarious. I highly doubt its authenticity. I laughed so hard I cried.
|
TFM has some info about it too. Keeping in mind that this is TFM they probably posted it knowing it is a fake/joke.

Regardless of whether it's real or fake, it's on Gawker/Deadspin/Jezebel and therefore millions will see it. It's more bad PR for Greeks.
|
"Cunt punt" well, isn't that just Miss Manners Charm School vocabulary?
ETA: this added, claiming to be the chapter president. Just continues the hilarity!! I have no idea if this is as "authentic" as the original email... UPDATE: We received the following email from the chapter president, who says that the email does not reflect the chapter's values. My name is Rachel Norris and I am the current president of Delta Gamma at the University of Maryland. It has been brought to my attention that you recently published an unsavory email that was sent out over my chapter's list-serve. Is it possible for you to either remove the article or just remove the names "Delta Gamma" and "Sigma Nu" from your article? This email absolutely does not reflect our chapter's values nor Sigma Nu's and any assistance you can give us is greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Rachel Norris |

I personally can totally see this type of email being sent out and can understand if its true. From a fraternity aspect I know the feeling this girl is going through. It looks really bad for a sorority to openly talk about other groups in front of their paired up group and openly ignore them. |
Let's allow Executive Offices time to adequately investigate this nod not speculate on the who, what, when and why.
Thanks! |
I personally found it kind of funny and understand the sentiment. I bet it was pretty cathartic to write (and the author has a certain way with words, though not so much tact/decorum), but she should have rewritten it or not sent it at all [assuming it's even real, which I could see going either way. If it's fake that's a weird thing to decide to do].
|
I think it's hilarious and pretty close to the rant I remember hearing during Greek Week. Not that it's acceptable (it's not), it's just hilarious.
|
TFM now has a picture posted of the alleged writer.
|
This sort of thing absolutely sets me off. The Internet is incredibly destructive and dangerous at times. And this is one of them. Personally I think it is the work of someone with an axe to grind against a person. There's nothing preventing me (or any of you guys) from writing something and passing it off as someone else's.
This situation could be foisted on ANY GLO, and I am not casting stones anywhere or pointing any fingers. There but for the grace of God... |

If you look at their home page, someone definitely hacked it, too.
|
That was one of the funniest things I've ever read. It was seriously like a bad parody. Awful.
|
Unfortunately, it appears to be real. This chick is pathetic, as her Twitter account (now deleted) proved for quite a long time: http://imgur.com/a/bAJhA
Yeah, Jezebel/Gawker folks have done quite a bit of digging and found a lot of offensive stuff. |
Yup, it's definitely real and I know the girl's name and identity now. She sounds awful.
The email was one of the funniest things I've read in a while though. |
i am sooooo glad email wasn't the prevalent form of communication back in the stone age when i was an Active.

I saw the story on Jezebel's FB page, clicked on links to get the Gawker story, then came right to GreekChat to see if it were true.
(GreekChat: the Snopes.com of the Greek world! :)) |
Reminds me the infamous blood drive email a few years back.
|
Remember, her email was targeted at her sisters. That may be the sort of language they use to motivate one another. This was never intended to be disseminated. Again, I'd be more disgusted with whoever leaked it than the author. No one has any idea about the context of this thing or the sort of culture it originated in. Please don't act like college kids are all about high tea and crumpets and expect them to act accordingly at all times, especially when they are communicating in-house.
This is, of course, a lesson about digital communication lost on a lot of our active members who often don't realize both the permanence of anything they write online (God help me if I ever run for office with all of my posts in the politics forum) and the speed at which it can be disseminated. |
I thought it was funny while still being really offensive! And I appreciated the avoidance of "text-speak" and the use of proper grammar. I can sympathize with her frustration for sure. It's just too bad it got leaked.

And chapter culture or not, I'm judging the fack out of her for most of those slurs. |
I know I shouldn't be laughing but I couldn't help it when I saw their hacked web site.
|
Dang, GC, I spend ... way too much time ... digging through my old harddrive and flashdrives to find my old password and user name files so I can sign back in here, and there's only 3 pages in this thread?? I'm disappointed, not gonna lie.
More disturbing, however, is I see an ad on the lefthand side of the page for a company named "Uranus Greek Lettering". Really? Someone let that happen? |

Well, welcome back! |
I second/third/fourth the idea that I'm over the moon that the Internet was in it's infancy when I was a collegiate. This girl fancies herself a foul mouthed comedienne which I'm sure explains her off color missive. You can tell by her wannabe Tosh.0 twitter posts. I get her point, though she and many other collegiates like her haven't figured out that once you hit send, you can never get those embarrassing words back. Those chapter list serves are not that private. Incriminating emails have been the downfall of more than one chapter with regard to risk management and PR. I do say shame to the sister that released the email...not for standing up to her but for doing it in a way that shames DG. Uncalled for.
P.S. oMG..someone at DG UMD shut down your moon fruit page for god's sake! |
