Please Pray
 

Girls,

I am checking in briefly because I know I will not be able to do so again in the near future.

My beloved grandfather died tonight at the age of 86. He had been ill in the hospital for some time now. We brought him home so he could be with his family for Christmas. Mercifully, it happened quickly and he did not appear to suffer. He died with everyone he loved around him. We are not mourning for him; we mourn because we miss him so much and would have kept him forever if we could.

The funeral is this Saturday. I have not decided when I will return to Los Angeles. Please pray for the repose of the soul of my grandfather; and please pray for the family that loves him and misses him so much.

I am sorry to hear about your grandfather. My heart and prayers go out to your family during this horrible time. It is never easy to loose a grandparent, I lost both of mine while I was in high school, they were both ill and it was good to see an end to their suffering, but its still hard to see them go.....

i'm most definetely praying. i lost my grandma earlier this year. it was really hard because she was the only grandparent i really truly knew. this was my first christmas without her and it really hurt. but i know that she's happier and not in pain anymore. i pray not only for him but for your happiness also. find peace at this time of year and good luck with 2002.

Maria, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I have had to miss a funerals b/c of the travel distance, but I hope that you are able to make your grandfather's. Even if you can't, remember that he is looking down from heaven on you.

Hi everyone,

I just got back this morning, and I checked into GC only to see a flood of messages and pm's. Thank you so much for your kind words; it brought many tears to my eyes to see such support from sisters and Panhellenic friends. I hope and pray that each of you have as long and happy a life as my grandfather did--even longer and happier, if that's possible.

I'm still having a hard time with things, but I expect that things will get better day by day. I have his wonderful memories, and I have solid support in my family and friends. I am so blessed to count all of you among them.

So glad to be back.
