Favorite Cartoons

I was watching Cartoon Network with my two-year-old nephew the ohter day and I didn't recognize ANY of the cartoons that they were advertising. We ended up watching a remade version of the Super Friends (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, etc.) called Justice Squad. It really was no good but my nephew seemed to enjoy it. I started thinking about my favorite cartoons from when I was a child.

Inspector Gadget
Scooby-Doo, Where are you?
He-Man and Skeletor
Fraggle Rock
The Smurfs

What were your favorite cartoons?

Ideal08 12-18-2001 12:16 PM

Do puppet shows count, too?

The Smurfs
The Great Space Coaster
The Muppets
Ed Grimley
Punky Brewster
Spiderman
The Superfriends (WonderTwin powers, ACTIVATE!) :D I loved this, lol
Fat Albert (wth is that pink thing on ol' dude's head? I said it was bubble gum, lmao, my sister said it was his hat. WTH is it??)
Scooby-Doo
The Flintstones
The Jetsons
Batman (not the newest one, but the one that was out in the 90's)

And now, since I STILL watch them:

RECESS (this is one of the best cartoons on TV, because it is JUST like when we were little. I love this show!)
SOUTH PARK (this is the other best cartoon, it's so political, and people miss it, because they think it's a trashy cartoon. It's hilarious.)
The Weekenders
The Powerpuff Girls (I cracked on this show, but it is HILARIOUS!)
The Proud Family
Fairly Odd Parents
King of the Hill
Family Guy

Anyways.......My favorite cartoon was always......Bugs Bunny.....It became even funnier as I got older.....My favorite is the one where Bugs is a Matadore(sp?).....He says "what a gull-a-bull"....get it gullible......and "what a nin-cow-poop"......Bugs is HILARIOUS!!!!!!

And when School House Rock was actually a mini cartoon ....

Recently my son and I got into a debate about MR. Snuffalupagus (sp?)..on Sesame Street.....I distinctly remember when he was just Big Birds imaginary friend....no one saw Mr. Snuffalupagus but Big Bird.......Much to my surprise now everyone knows him....Wow! when did that change?????

My son claims that everyone always could see Mr. Snuffalupagus.....I say "NOT!!"

Yall really brought me back with Jem and Fraggle Rock! :D
But there was this one cartoon that I used to watch every morning and to this day, I have yet to find another person who's ever watched it. It was a cartoon called BOTZ MASTER (I don't know about the spelling but it was something like that). It was a robot cartoon. Anyway, I think it used to come on Fox at like 6 in the morning. There was this one part during the show where it would be in 3-D and you could put your 3-D glasses on and watch like a fight scene or something. I never had the 3-D glasses though. :(
Anyway, I used to love that cartoon!!! :D :o
Anyone else see it??

They do have a channel for this called Boomerang. It's a spin-off of the Cartoon Network. I don't know if they include Jem though. I think the channel covers the years 1958-1976.

NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - Andre 3000, one-half of the chart-topping hip-hop group OutKast, is developing a potential series project with Cartoon Network.

The musician is hashing out ideas for a half-hour special pegged for the cable channel's "Adult Swim" block. If Andre 3000 and Cartoon -- both based in Atlanta -- are happy with the results, the channel will greenlight the special for series treatment.
