Is anyone following the Rush at UT or South Carolina this week? I have a couple PNM's going through and was wondering how the numbers were, etc. ?

I have at daughter on the other side at USC. I saw her last Saturday and they were at 1300+ registered for recruitment. They are expecting pledge classes around 125. Last year the pledge class was 108.

Thanks! I don't guess many on here are involved with Rush on those campuses. I'll wait and see how the girls do.

There may be quite a few, but they're going to be pretty tight-lipped about right now.

Alpha Gamma Delta is colonizing at the University of South Carolina :) That's all I know about their recruitment.

Two girls on my rec crew are going through recruitment at South Carolina and a neighbor's daughter is doing so at Tennessee -- I'm watching closely!

One of my S.C. girls is posting a lot of pictures on FB (nothing derogatory -- she could actually be a great P.R. person for recruitment!) She, her roommate and a few other girls they've befriended look like they are just having a blast!

Pref day at Tennessee today! :)

I have heard nothing from anyone I know directly involved at UT. :(

My daughter is a junior at UT. She's in one of the 3 sororities to be in their house for recruitment. When talking to her, yes, she's exhausted, but her excitement level is out of this world and I contribute that to them being able to hold recruitment in their beautiful new house. She tells me bids should be handed out at 1 at Thompson-Bolling Arena (but she wasn't sure of the time - they may be in-hand right now), and they'll hold bid day activities at the house. I'm excited for her, her sisters, and all the girls who will join them today!

I have daughters in sororities at UT -- still waiting to hear how it went today!

I spoke to my Gamecock last night. They finished up the first 3 rounds and they have Pref next weekend. They are still on track for a quota around 125.

My neighbor's daughter went ADII at Tennessee.

They're a great chapter! Congrats to her!

Does anyone have or know where to find the bid list for UTK?

I believe quota at Tennessee for both under- and upper-classmen was 52. (Which I never thought could be termed as small until I see all of these pledge classes in the hundreds! Mind-boggling!:eek:) Congrats to all of the new Greek women on campus! We can't wait until everyone will be recruiting from the Brand Spanking new Sorority Village next year. It's going to be SUCH a great change for this campus!

Quota of 52 is awesome! Y'all's house is beautiful. I can't wait to get up there and see the new sorority village!

It's AMAZING! And it will be such a great atmosphere once all the houses and the new Panhellenic Building are complete. How blessed we are! Oh, and TNAuburnMom, I sent you a PM!

TennesseeKD - I was thinking the same thing about pledge class size - 52 sounds huge, but compared to some of the other numbers we see it's just a drop in the bucket. My daughter told me that recruitment in their house this year was beyond awesome and when I had the chance to speak with her throughout the week she was over the moon. Next fall's recruitment, with all the houses open (I'm assuming they'll all be done), will be incredible. The completed houses are absolutely gorgeous!

Now, if I can just my high school senior to seriously consider following in her sister's footsteps and adopt "Go Vols!" as her new mantra...

I would like to see photos of the new chapter houses at Tennessee. Do any of you in the know have some photos or links to photos? Which chapter houses were completed in time for recruitment? Will all of the other chapter houses be completed for next year?

I posted a few photos in the houses at UT thread. I'll see if I can find it later and link.

I won't have my computer for a while, but if you search YouTube for "Kappa Delta House Topping Off " or "Kappa Delta Bid Day at the University of Tennessee" you can see a few videos with some shots of the village and the KD house. I believe there are several that will be complete this year, and then the rest finished in 2013. Right now AXO, DZ, and KD are the only ones living in their houses, but many are soon to follow.

Pref is today at Carolina - Parties begin at 1 and will go all day. I think Carolina is on track for a record quota. Bid Day is tomorrow afternoon.

Quota was 111!!! Highest ever at South Carolina. Kappa Kappa Gamma has 114 new members today!!!!

Wow! I went to a much smaller school, but that makes my pledge class of 20 seem so small in comparison. Congratulations to all the chapters!

Today was Bid Day at South Carolina! One of my rec girls went KKG and one went ADII!

My pnm at Tennessee pledged Phi Mu, and mine at USC pledged ADPi, KD, and
Chi O! They all said they had a great experience, and enjoyed Rush!

The Daily Gamecock reported it was a rainy bid day. According to the short article 1,377 registered and 1,103 received bids.

I am so so happy and excited!!!! My daughter pledged Chi Omega yesterday at Carolina. She is a legacy and is now my sister as well as daughter. She told me Chi Omega took 113. I can't wait to see her and meet everyone at the house parent's weekend. She had a great recruitment experience.

Is there a bid list available for South Carolina? I am wanting to check on a girl I wrote a rec for.
