Butterfly Kisses by, I think the guy's name is Bob Carlisle, but it's not even worth Googling to see if that's it.

That song seriously makes me want to barf.

Aww, see if this changes your mind on Morning Train. It is all I think of anymore when I hear that song, and I laugh hard.

I hate you all. With the fire of 10,000 suns.

My pick:

Anything really by Celine Dion but the Titanic song takes the cake.

Tired Of Toeing The Line--Rocky Burnett (not a song, more like a scream).

Every Breath...(you know the one).

We Built This City--Jefferson Starship (advertisers still use this; I change the channel).

(more to come, break needed...)

oh yes: Break My Stride by Matthew Wilder.

MaryPoppins 08-23-2012 01:13 PM

So, so many of these are truly just that awful. But not Sting, oh you cannot have my Police. You will have to pry them out of my cold, dead hands.

NutBrnHair 08-23-2012 01:26 PM

"Loving You" performed by Minnie Ripperton

Iota Man 08-23-2012 01:49 PM

Mostly cuts by Too $hort. Dude can't rap.

trisigma212 08-23-2012 01:49 PM

"Believe" by Cher

"Friday" Rebecca Black

I believe these songs play on repeat in hell.

Thank you! Had to adjust your post a little. :p I hate that song, along with anything by Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry. Pathetic and awful --no talent at all.

I'm in the minority, but I LIKE this song! It reminds me of a happy time in my life.

Maya Rudolph is so gonna come and kick your ass.

And as much as I love Cher, I agree on Believe. That song singlehandedly killed our local adult R & B station.

My daughter and I just listened to this "song" and we actually liked it...especially the "don't mess with your hair too much, or by the time you're 40 it will look like it's 85."

This - again!!!!!

That damn new Taylor Swift song about Never Ever Getting Back Together.

tinydancer 08-23-2012 11:05 PM

Speaking of The Eagles, my friend's dog goes berserk at the starting notes of "One of these nights.". She growls and barks at the radio. (the dog, not my friend.)

WCsweet<3 08-23-2012 11:06 PM

About half of Madonna's songs. Particularly anything starting in or after 1998.

This and American Pie are my co-winners for "Songs I Used To Actually Really Like But Due To Endless Repetition Now Hate." (That's another whole thread.) I would put the majority of Stevie/Lindsey Fleetwood Mac's* first two albums in that category as well.

*as opposed to Peter Green or Bob Welch Fleetwood Mac

That new Taylor Swift song--Never ever getting back together (?). What is she, a prepubescent middle schooler?

Back in the 90s, there was a radio station in Dallas that decided to change their format (but without telling the DJs.) They sent everyone cruise tickets and told them it was a special bonus (just for them - don't tell anyone.) Everyone shows up and finds everyone else on the cruise. The station played nothing but Hotel California for 3 days and then nothing but Eagles for a week until they polled the audience to find out their new format.

It was excruciating.

Ugh...yes. I really like The Eagles and also Don Henley specifically, but this song is so weird.

Most people like their music. My roommate in college used to play their album all the time. I would leave the room whenever he did.

Hahaha. We have to be repetitive these days in order for kids to pay attention.

Anything by Taylor Swift annoys me- not just the new song.

Celine Dion, Lionel Ritchie, and pretty much all mid-late 1980s hair metal will make me change the station as well.

Oh, and that "whip my hair" song by Willow Smith. My kids know to change the station/forward to the next song on the Radio Disney CD if that comes on.

My 14-year-old son can't stand current popular music, which he (without any "education" from me, I promise) describes as derivative, repetative and way-too-heavily auto-tuned. He prefers classic rock.

Yes, I'm proud.

CTFU! "Blowjob Betty" was off his "Get in where you fit in" album. Dude only had two cuts on that album, and those cuts were only tight because of the background music. His "Life is too short" album was okay. If I had to pick one album of his that was still sorry as hell, but better than his other albums, it would be his "Short Dogs in the house" album. The rest of his shit is wack as hell.

That has got to be the worst business plan I've ever heard. Every piece of it from sending the staff away on false terms to the Eagles on repeat. What were they thinking? I'm sure the staff on the cruise couldn't even enjoy it since I'm sure they realized they were being set up for something.

We need more like him lol

The auto-tune is what kills me. I am a big fan of singers that can, you know, sing. If a-t is used for mild corrections, fine. But when you can't hold a tune unless it's auto-tuned, that bothers me.

It's just awful. And means that the singer isn't at all special, so exactly why should we listen or even bother to buy?

MysticCat 08-24-2012 03:19 PM

I've mentioned this before, and I know I'm in the minority, but I just can't stand "Imagine" by John Lennon. I don't know of any song that can get me to change the radio faster.

I do love Maya Rudolph and thought about her as I posted this, but her Mama's song is like nails on a chalkboard to me.
