Tallulah Does the Hula-a Carnation Nation Story!
Once there was a girl named Tallulah and for 12 years, she had watched her big sisters have fun in their sororities! They had pandas, owls, crowns, and lions everywhere. They went on trips with their sorority sisters. They went to formals and took family Greek pictures and two of them even met their husbands through sorority sisters! Tallulah wanted to be Greek too.
So she finally graduated from high school and chose a college that had a great program in her major. It also had a bunch of sororities and she was a legacy to 2! She attended orientation to learn more about the groups and someone from each group stood up to describe her sorority. She asked her mom if it had been appropriate for one girl to stand up and say, "My sorority is the PARRRR-TIERRRSSS!" (Um, no.) Her campus spreads out Meet Panhellenic activities over several weeks. She likes Hawaiian music so she's going to use a Hawaiian theme. Also, we're going to cut this down to 4 groups, the maximum number of parties she can attend for first invitationals. We're hoping that she'll be going to: Ti-Leaf Hula Skirts Scarlet Uli-Ulis Fragrant Plumeria Lei Hawaii Aloha (music) This story will be added to over a period of weeks and if you know where her little corner of Hawaii is, please keep it secret! Aloha for now-- |
Can't wait! Carnation stories are the best!!

Can I ask if there is even a possibility you will be getting a new Pi Phi out of this?

I can't wait for another Carnation Nation story!!
|
Yay! I love Carnation Nation Stories. I cannot decide whether to root for a legacy or for her to branch out and get you one step closer to having an entire Panhellenic Convention in your kitchen.
|
She has known a member of one of her non-legacy sororities all of her life and has worked with a member of another non-legacy sorority for the last 3 years. She should be meeting members of other groups at all of these pre-recruitment activities.
We wonder where she'll end up! |
I can't wait to read more!

Therein lies the confusion. It seemed like you'd already assigned the groups and were stating favorites. You were just hoping you get to use all four names. It read funny to me, but i now see what you meant.
|
So Tallulah travels to her college today! They'll have several meet-and-greet activities for the freshmen in the next few days. Her recruitment counselor left a message on my phone, thinking that it was Tallulah's number, saying that they would be having a meeting to explain what recruitment was and that PH would be having a fashion show demonstrating what to wear. Uh, I think we have all that covered.
|
I'd love to be a fly on the wall when her Pi Chi asks if anyone in her family is Greek.
|
Or:
Does anyone know how recruitment works, with invitations and stuff? Has anyone heard of any of these sororities? Guess what happens on Philanthropy Day! etc. I was just thinking of stuff I've forgotten to warn her about. Like if you know the song the sisters are singing, don't join in. (She might think you're supposed to.) We honestly have no clue what she'll do because we've tried to be Panhellenic. Will she choose one of her legacy groups? Or one that her longtime friends belong to? Or will she decide that the whole thing will take too much time from her major (which does require a lot of time) and opt not to go Greek? |

Hmmm, I'm not sure I see there is an open mind, period. |
Luckily, it doesn't matter what you think!:
--and this thread will be closed until recruitment begins for Tallulah. |
So Tallulah was very excited to go to the recruitment convocation! Finally, some action!:D
She was sad that she didn't have a roommate to go with but she figured that she'd make friends as recruitment progressed since the school had a record number of PNMs. A girl came and sat next to her but AUWE!! This girl started insisting to Tallulah that the PNMs would be hazed during recruitment! (We'll be calling her Hazel.) The RGs explained the recruitment process to the women. Parties would start in a few days. Tallulah was ready to HULA! |
Yay!!!! The Carnation thread begins in earnest!!:D:D
|
Go Tallulah! I think I'll root for Fragrant Plumeria Lei...love the way Plumeria smells!
|
Hazing during recruitment, now that is an interesting way to get new members.:P
|
Looking forward to this story!
