Awesome! Can't wait to read your recruitment story. I'm rushing to this year and plan on putting my story up soon.

clarinette 07-30-2012 04:40 PM

I'll root for Jack Russell Terrier! I used to have one when I was a kid. They're so hyper, but I love them a lot.

WCsweet<3 07-30-2012 04:46 PM

Great Dane all the way. I've wanted one since I was little. I practically scream when I see them now...

Tulip86 07-30-2012 04:50 PM

SWTXBelle 07-30-2012 05:05 PM

Sciencewoman 07-30-2012 08:37 PM

I hope Poodle is Gamma Phi...we had a little poodle who was my best buddy.

Good luck and have fun!

caylaashley 07-30-2012 08:54 PM

Ahhhh go dalmatian!

ASUADPi 07-30-2012 09:58 PM

Yeah a U of A recruitment story! Love it! While I graduated from ASU I LOVED every minute I was down at U of A and I wish I could have afforded to stay.

Can't wait to hear your recruitment story!

As for the dogs, rooting on Lab as I've got a golden lab.

AZpnm 07-30-2012 10:14 PM

allsmiles3 07-30-2012 11:07 PM

BAckbOwlsgIrl 07-30-2012 11:38 PM

No Burnese Mountain Dog?
Sorry, but, everyone and their mother seems to have Labrador or Golden Retriever these days. Can't go to the park without seeing a ton of them.

I will be rooting for the Border Collie.

I'm curious about the day off for orientation plopped right between Skit Day and Preference. Has that happened before? It sounds a little tortuous to me!

Good luck to all the PNMs!

That's something new this year. The University has a started a mandatory orientation day on the Friday before classes start on Monday. I've been wondering if there will be more withdraws as PNMs have a chance to think and talk.

Not only that, but I feel for the young women dropped before preference who must now stick around campus instead of being able to leave to avoid the remainder of recruitment.

The other side of the coin is that they will meet new people (including male people :) )and find out about new things to do during Orientation. I'm guessing that is more the university's intention.

barbino 07-31-2012 09:35 PM

What, no English Springer Spaniel? I'll have to root for Beagle then (it's my husband's favorite breed). :)

AZpnm 08-02-2012 11:49 AM

10 days!!! I'm so excited :)

AzTriDeezy 08-07-2012 09:18 PM

GO ARIZONA!

Not technically supposed to be talking to you but just wanted to let you know I'll be reading your story! :) U of A has eleven amazing houses. Every single one is great. Keep an open mind because the tent talk is awful.

And feel free to read my recruitment story. Its linked in my signature.

Do you understand recruitment infractions and the UofA Panhellenic Policies about not contacting PNMs? You've posted in both UofA threads. This is pretty blatant and you do understand that there are a lot of UofA actives, alumnae and advisors monitoring GC, don't you?

tpiazza 08-08-2012 09:11 AM

Good luck with your recruitment! I think my school's starts on the same day as yours!

Not to mention that it's really easy to figure out her chapter!

Isn't this the school where they had infractions for this very reason last year?

BlueOwl 08-09-2012 11:14 PM

There is probably a home football game on the day off. My daughter's school would do that also, so everyone could attend the game. It gets a bit tricky though because pnm's are not supposed to speak to active members and visa/versa! Just smile and say "hi", stuff like that.

Good luck to all of the pnm's. So looking forward to reading some great stories!

summer_gphib 08-09-2012 11:16 PM

No Basset Hounds, so I'll have to go with the BEAGLE! GO BEAGLE GO!

aab225 08-09-2012 11:32 PM

good luck AZpnm!! I have a lot of friends at U of A in Greek life and they LOVE it! I'm sure you'll have a fabulous time! Please keep us updated!

I honestly didn't think that posting on the boards was against those rules. I've posted in the Arizona ones obviously because I'm super excited about recruitment at my school!

And no, I had no idea that people were monitoring GC, but like I said, I also didn't think I was doing anything wrong.

I'll refrain from now on. My apologies.

aab225 08-13-2012 12:04 PM

AH! GOOD LUCK TODAY :) Enjoy it and keep an open mind!

AZ-AlphaXi 08-13-2012 05:14 PM

Its 2:15pm and the temp at my house is 106. Hope everyone is staying hydrated and as cool as possible. Good luck!!

AZ-AlphaXi 08-14-2012 05:08 PM

Went down to campus at lunch time today and OMG this is not an SEC recruitment. Not a Lily in sight :-) ... lots of tank tops and short shorts, and t-shirts and short shorts, and polos and shorts, and short skirts and tops, and a few (very few) dresses.

Its hot again today, 104 at my house with thunderheads building around the valley. Hope they get finished with the round before it starts raining.

ASUADPi 08-14-2012 05:18 PM

Makes sense how flippin' hot AZ is. Plus, I think the "mentality" might be a little different. Us folks in AZ don't wear dresses and heels to football games but that is standard attire for women in the SEC (which I saw first hand both times ASU played UGA). Not that recruitment is the same thing as a football game, but we are a bit more "laid back". I'm sure they will look nicer at pref night (but then again, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the PNM's look, how do I say this politely, trashy).

How do they do it in that kind of heat? It makes me sweat even thinking about it.

I love Springers too! Since they didn't make the cut I'll have to root for the sporting breeds! Go Labs!

victoriana 08-14-2012 07:16 PM

It is hot hot hot here in Arizona!! Hopefully the PNMs are staying cool and hydrated. Can't wait to read your story later :)

violetpretty 08-16-2012 09:48 AM

Go JRT! My family just had to put ours down a few weeks ago. :( They are crazy, but they are great dogs if you know how to handle them!

AOII Angel 08-16-2012 10:15 AM

Can't wait to go help the PNMs sign their bid cards with AZ- AlphaXi on Saturday. I bet everyone will look beautiful in their pref dresses!

littlesquirrel 08-16-2012 05:10 PM

I have a Scottie and a Pit Bull, but my next favorite dogs are Poms and Chihuahuas so I'm rooting for them! Good luck during recruitment!

aab225 08-16-2012 05:30 PM

hope everything is going well so far!
