Trivia
Okay, ladies:
A bunch of other GLO's have trivia threads, and I am jealous. I am therefore starting one. Feel free to post questions; I can't do it all myself. Who, of the following, would NOT be considered a legacy? a) My granddaughter b) My half-sister c) My step-daughter d) My niece I know it is a hard one, but I hope you will at least guess. LIOB, Amy |
They're all legacies except for the niece.
-VSUPhiMu |
Correct. Want another?
|
here's one....
How many active collegiate chapters do we have? And which state has the most # of collegiate chapters? :)
|
I believe we have 132 active chapters and 2 colonies. I am going to guess that we have more chapters in Georgia than anywhere else.
These are both guesses though. |
You are right about Georgia...I counted a slightly less amount of active chapters. I'll leave it open if anyone else wants to guess :)
|
Who are the two "Senior Chapter Consultants" traveling this year for Phi Mu?
|
How would a step-daughter be a legacy? Just wondering!
|
Who are the two "Senior Chapter Consultants" traveling this year for Phi Mu?
Umm, Gina DeBlasis and I don't remember the other. Good to see this board active again :D |

New Question
According to Phi Mu lore, which of the three founders took the initiative to get the group together?
|
I'm going to guess Mary Dupont Lines since she was the first President of the Philomathean Society.
Another question: What year was the badge design that we wear today first introduced? |
Quote:
|
the badge is from 1904...when we actually adopted our Greek letters. We dad have a badge back in 1852 though which was made out of a $20 gold piece and designed by one of the charter members...Sarah Amelia Bardwell Wright
|
New Question
What is the symbol of Phi Mu?
|
Our symbol is Sir Fidel the lion :)
Amy, I think you and I have our own trivia game going on here..lol |

Sorry, that one was meant to be a trick.:p Maybe if we throw some easier ones up here we will get more players. |
Here's an easy one:
What are the three memorials left at Wesleyan by Phi Mu? |
Don't know. A memorial for each of the founders?
|
Aren't the memorials trees or something?
Does anyone still have their Phi manuel? That's where I got the thing about Sir Fidel being our symbol :) Gosh I am so tired but so nervous about graduating that I can't sleep and I need to be up in 3 hours!!! |
HMMMMMM
I have my phi manual still but thats cause i was innitiated in 2000, ok heres the answer 3 magnolia trees, chandeliers, and a gate at wesleyan all were donated to wesleyan by Phi Mu.... ok new question: what was Phi Mu called before it was called Phi Mu, and what date did it adopt those greek letters? |
oh yeah!!!
PS.... CONGRATS to Ladybug on graduating...don't be nervous its going to be great!!!
LIOB :D |
PinkStar-- Thank you!!! :) It's been a great weekend and graduation was wonderful.
Phi Mu was the Philomathean Society and we adopted the letters Phi Mu in 1904 (the same year the badge we use now was adopted). And I still have my Phi Manuel too and don't plan to get rid of it anytime soon :) |
Ladybug--
Congratulations and good luck! I guess the lion is one of our symbols, but the quadrefoil is a simpler, more easily recognized one. So both answers would be correct. Okay, another question.... Who is the current Vice President-Panhellenic? |
WOW! that one made me actually research! does that count?? lol
vice president panhellenic is Kathy Williams, Alpha Delta from the University of Mississippi HMMMM next question: In what year was CMN designated Phi Mu's national philantrophy ?? PS. Ladybug I PMed you but I have no idea how that works.. hmm let me know if u get it! LIOB :D |

1986? |

hmmm about the alergic food... i have no clue! i would email her but the chances that she would reply would probrably be slim considering she would think i was nuts!! but ill make a guess that it is hmmm something that would be in your dinner that wasnt easily seen since she didnt know it was there or she wouldnt have eaten it.. something maybe actually cooked into it???? i have no clue!!! do i get bonus points for trying?!! Next question: in what year did Phi Mu designate Founders Day Pennies and what was it designated for? |

Strawberries, wow!
I have been following the thread but couldn't think of any trivia off the top of my head, until now... What is the address of our national headquarters? |
I don't feel like looking it up, but I believe it is:
3558 Habersham at Northlake Tucker, GA 43037 Again, that is off the top of my head, so the numbers are probably wrong. |

One quick question...
Is it not true that you are not supposed to abbreviate "Love In Our Bond?"
I have seen many sisters just write "LIOB." I understood that that was incorrect. Does anyone know for sure? |

Seems that noone posts questions when I am out of town :-(. Okay, here is a new one: What is the oldest continuous Phi Mu chapter? |
Trivia Answer
The longest continuous chapter of Phi Mu is the Kappa Chapter at the University Of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN. I can't remember when they were founded at TN, 1908 or something like that.
|
That would be correct!
What colors are found on the Phi Mu Crest? |
Phi Mu Crest
How bout Red, Black, Gold, and White?
I called my big to make sure (since she's also the pres) but I had to go with what my twin said! (Love you Jen!) |
Those would be correct, and we all know the secret meanings of those colors are revealed at initiation.
How many women are there on National Council? |
Seven I believe.
Five officers. |
