please start bumping threads to push down the spam

(until a supermod can ban the spammers!)

bumping up!

AlphaFrog 07-16-2012 11:05 AM

Bumping random threads for the sake of bumping isn't really helping the SPAM.

Now, if someone wants to bump an epic GC Classic, I'm all for that.

carnation 07-16-2012 11:11 AM

It means that the first thing newbies will see won't be 25 ads for elongating your privates. They'll see real threads about Greeks.

And if you want to bump an epic one like that one by KA BillyMac--please do!

33girl 07-16-2012 11:24 AM

Yeah, but it's annoying as crap for NON-newbies to think that something new and pertinent may have been posted in the thread, and go there just to see "bump!"

People understand spam. It's not that serious.

carnation 07-16-2012 11:28 AM

There's probably nothing new in an older recruitment thread!

Sometimes yes, sometimes no, especially if there are new spam threads.

carnation 07-16-2012 01:30 PM

Y'all hit 'em again!

tinydancer 07-16-2012 02:46 PM

If they are going to advertise drugs, they could at least offer something I can use.

j/k

carnation 07-16-2012 02:51 PM

Does anyone know the name of that thread where lifesaver thought those guys were coming to beat him up and they were coming to give him a bid?

Now's your chance! Buy acne! You don't even need a perscription! Because who wouldn't want to buy ugly red lumps to put all over their face!?!?

I am obviously way too distracted to be in my office right now...

wareagle93 07-16-2012 04:51 PM

Bumping up again!

carnation 07-16-2012 06:51 PM

Ole Boy is back.

GC is seeeeeeeeerious bidness. It's real out here in these GC streets.

pshsx1 07-16-2012 07:46 PM

That's a good idea: dig through and bump some classics. It's always refreshing to see those special threads!

carnation 07-16-2012 08:33 PM

Still trying to remember what that lifesaver classic thread is called!

carnation 07-16-2012 08:59 PM

No, it was one where he was talking about some fraternity guys coming up to him and he thought they were going to beat him up and he yelled something defensive and they handed him a bid.

MysticCat 07-16-2012 09:24 PM

You know, the spam-bumps are getting to be about as annoying as the spam itself. I keep looking at threads where the only new post is the bump.

agzg 07-16-2012 09:31 PM

Agreed. Maybe this is a silly question, but has anyone reported the spammer?

carnation 07-16-2012 09:38 PM

Yes, but no supermods have responded.

carnation 07-16-2012 10:16 PM

Four. Ninjapoodle, Penguintrax, SAEAlum, and James, and of course John can ban too.

Any idea why lifesaver's original thread was archived?

carnation 07-16-2012 10:59 PM

A lot of the older threads are and they're just regular old threads. Maybe they automatically get archived after a certain amount of time?

gogreekmom 07-17-2012 07:04 AM

bump
