Nick Saban's daughter is being sued by a sorority sister who claims the two got into a fight over a facebook post after a night of drinking.

Not sure how this is pertinent to RM except that I can see several liability issues. Members playing drinking games, getting into physical altercations, etc. The injuries allegedly sustained by Grimes are pretty extreme, but university judicial boards routinely sweep pretty serious things under the rug, so again, nothing surprising there.

My question: Why wait 2 years for retribution?

I got really confused by the picture embedded in the article and was like "Kristen Saban beat Serena Williams up?" LOL

I understand Kristen is no longer a Phi Mu. Did they kick her out? How about the sister she sent to the hospital? Somebody on GC must know the real dirt. I would love to hear it.

Interesting comment on Saban's Linked In page about her Phi Mu membership. Since her membership has been terminated, you would think she wouldn't even list it.

I wondered the same thing, how can you be alum when you are still at your University where you pledged?

Or maybe it's because your dad is the football coach and your mom is a Phi Mu alumna?

We had a couple (read maybe 2) that went early alum status due to the fact that they were pre-med with internships. One was actually a triple major with a minor.

Phi Mu allows no such thing. There is an "interim" status which you may be able to take for one semester if you are not local or have a personal emergency, but nobody who is enrolled in the university at which she pledged is an alumna.

In which case it sounds like she made up the status. Alumna sounds much better than membership terminated. Why she would even have it on her profile even if she was somehow an alumna is beyond me. Why show you were only a member for a year?

Kind of hard to remain a member in good standing if attendance counts at events or meetings when there is a no contact order involved. That's second to the other issues such as University mandated anger management classes, binge drinking (potential substance abuse), alleged drinking and driving, possible domestic violence against the former boyfriend Daniel, and I think minors consuming as I don't think they were 21. That is a veritable color guard of red flags even without a physical altercation that required a sister to seek emergency medical treatment.

Because people who aren't involved in Greek life might not think that's weird. They might think it's the equivalent of just being on the newspaper staff your sophomore year and not being on it the rest of the time you were in school.

First off, I have no info on this situation aside from what I've heard in the news. However, I wanted to comment on this post.When I dealt with an injury lawsuit, my attorney's advice was to wait to file until near the end of the statute of limitations in order to better determine the long term/ongoing medical issues, necessary treatments, & the financial costs.

She is no longer a member from what I understand, but her LinkedIn profile says she's an "Alumna." That girl inherited some brass from her Pappy.
