Sorority affiliations of Miss USA 2102 contestants

Well, it's getting that time of year for the Miss USA contest, and so far it is a rather panhellenic gathering.

Miss Indiana Pi Beta Phi
Miss Arkansas Alpha Gamma Delta
Miss Missouri Alpha Phi
Miss W. Virginia Kappa Kappa Gamma
Miss Texas Alpha Chi Omega

I think this is a partial list and what I retrieved off the internet and from friends. Good Luck to them all! It would be nice to have a GLO member be Miss Universe.

AGDLynn 05-11-2012 11:17 PM

Well, if not Miss USA, then Miss Canada (if an AGD wins ;) )

jen0830 05-11-2012 11:57 PM

Good thinking outside the box, several of the GLOs (Pi Phi, Theta, Kappa, Tri-Delt, DG, ADPi, AGD, and more) have Canadian chapters as well!
Go Greek!

Wow, you really know the sorority affiliations of the contestants in the Miss USA pageant that will take place ninety years from now?

You wouldn't happen to know next Wednesday's winning Powerball numbers too? (I'd ask for today's, but I'm too lazy to go buy a ticket just now.)

:D

AGDLynn 05-12-2012 08:03 PM

Greeks are cool like that!;)

Took me a minute - but I finally got it!

So Miss California is Natalie Pack, she was from America's Next Top Model cycle 12. Didn't really like her on ANTM, which I'm sure had more to do with the editing of the show.

Here is an interview with her after her win.

Good eyes, AEPhi Alum, I guess I'm not a 'details' person, I meant to say 2103! hehe, BTW, the lucky Power Ball numbers are 2, 8, 12, 19, 30, and 10. Good Luck!

Miss Kansas - Pi Beta Phi
Miss Wyoming - (Bio says she was on the Exec Board for her sorority, but doesn't say which one. She went to Chico State.)
Miss Arizona - Delta Zeta
Miss Louisiana - Delta Delta Delta

Which sorority was Miss California (Natalie Pack) in at UCI?

MaryPoppins 06-03-2012 06:51 PM

Miss Oklahoma is a Theta from the University of Oklahoma.

IHeartUGA 06-03-2012 09:29 PM

Kelsey Dow is in the semi-finals!!!

GPhiBLtColonel 06-03-2012 10:34 PM

Well, Miss Wyoming (Holly Allen) did not make past the opening sequence but she is an Alpha Phi from Cal State Chico.

She had a good run. :( Great job, Kelsey!

So I just watched the "culling" of the contestants down to the Top 16, and all I have to say is, "What the hell are they wearing?!"

Miss America is still the only pageant I care about. It has a lot more class -- talent counts, prizes are scholarships and there is no Donald Trump.

I concur!

Maybe it is just me, but I thought the host & hostess last night for the pageant were stupid. I only watched because a Theta was in the running. After she didnt make the last cut, I cheered for Rhode Island. I felt she was the most genuine out of all of them and her answer to her question was great. The others faltered a bit and seemed to me to be a little overconfident.

I thought boobs were going to pop out of some of the dresses & bikini tops. I'm glad there were no nip-slips!

Socalparent 06-04-2012 04:34 PM

Miss Ohio's answer and use of "Pretty Woman" as a role model was cringeworthy.

I don't remember which state, but it was the last woman to walk. I was so nervous that she was going to pop out. I could literally see room between her and the top when she was bouncing/walking.

Amen. Of all the movies? Really?

She can't have been a liberal arts literature or fine arts film major and felt comfortable with that answer.

My 17 year old had control of the remote and I was idly watching. After Miss Ohio responded, my daughter asked me, "Is that the movie where she was a prostitute?" I nodded and she responded, "She's stupid" and then changed the channel.

DeltaBetaBaby 06-04-2012 06:50 PM

Not only that, but Pretty Women is like 20 years old. Not exactly a relevant example.

SWTXBelle 06-04-2012 07:04 PM

I have a brown silk polka-dotted dress which is, I must say, quite cute. "That looks like the dress in "Pretty Woman!" I've been told, which I must admit made me think "Are you saying I look like a prostitute?"

IHeartUGA 06-04-2012 08:05 PM

I loved Miss Nevada's response to the Biden question: "well it was LIKE really late". Shut.Up.

VandalSquirrel 06-04-2012 08:58 PM

I had a friend posting photos on facebook comparing the dresses of Miss Ohio and Miss Maryland to the gowns worn in the film To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar. It was rather eerie how similar they were dressed to Vida Boheme (Patrick Swayze) and Noxeema Jackson (Wesley Snipes).

Oh, I agree. I just watched the first elimination because I'll always cheer for Miss Washington. But she hardly ever makes it into the second round.

APhi4Ever 06-07-2012 12:52 PM

Miss Wyoming is an Alpha Phi, I know this is late but I just read that.
