Interested in Greek life
 

I have found a sorority at my school that I'm interested in. I didn't really know about them until last week because they're underground as my school doesn't allow Greek life (it's a small, Catholic school) but I've now been introduced to the sorority and went to an informal event they had and have read their website and all that jazz. They're holding a formal informational night on Sunday which I will be attending and they said to bring any questions I have. I'm wondering, what sorts of questions should I have? Thanks!

I'm not going to spoonfeed you questions, but some advice. You should consider what might happen if you join this underground org and the school finds out, what can happen to you.

I would assume that the org would be shut down, or that the sisters would say that they joined the chapter at the nearby university.

Is this group NPC, NPHC, MCGC or a local/regional sorority?

So here's a list of questions I have so far:

1) How much does it cost?
2) What activities and events are you guys involved in?
3) What service work do you do?
4) How much do you do with the nearby school's chapter?
5) What type of time commitment is it?

Is this good? Should I have more?

Use your judgement. It's not a test.

I just want to make a good first impression, you know? I may become an official interest after this meeting so it's important to me.

I'm trying to find out all I can on here, and so far it's been a really useful website.

Also, what should I wear to this informational night? Should I dress up a little or should I be casual? Or there's always the cute but casual look.

Well I could always ask, but I said what my best guesses are.

The informational is in a couple hours! I don't know why but I'm nervous! I think it's just because I'm meeting all these girls for the first time tonight.

It was all good last night :) It was me, another interested girl and 2 sisters (both of whom I know already). They gave information we talked it was very informal and personal and fun. I have to go to 2 more informationals before I can become a true PNM so I'll do that in the fall. I found out what the other sorority on campus is and I looked into them, but I'm much more interested in this one so I think that's what I'm going to pursue.

Are you for real or a spammer? Why would you post the same thing all over the internet? Do you expect different answers?

I was on Yahoo reading those Q & A pages and typed in "sorority" to see what came up, and came across the same question. I just googled the first few lines and these all popped up.

ETA: It's called Yahoo Answers.

I'm for real. I want to get as many answers as I can, and different types of people use all these different websites. But the people on this website aren't nearly as nice as other websites.

I came across a post that sounded like something I read already, and googled it because I was curious. More than a handful of results popped up. How is that creepy? I don't know her name, her school, or anything personally identifying about the OP other than what she put in her post, and I don't intend to know. I just wondered what the OP thought she would accomplish posting this in a bunch of other places, when it appears that this is the most relevant place to ask about Greek Life.

This may be the most relevant place, but there are Greeks all over the internet, and I'm sure many of them have no knowledge of this website but use other websites regularly.

Moi? Oh, yes. Way too much at the moment.

I do have a lot of time on my hands. It's the very end of the semester and I only had 3 finals this semester (1 take home and 2 sit down, one of which was today the other is tomorrow), so I've been doing a lot of web surfing...a lot more than usual. I'll have this kind of time for awhile too since my summer job doesn't start for another month.
