Whats the biggest paper you have done in one day?
Since only a few people on the face of the earth actaully do papers or reports well before the due date, whats the biggest paper you have done the day it was due(or within 24-36 hours)??
Im working a 7-12 pager right now thats due at 6 tonight(just the rough draft though). Im not too worried about getting it done since its a pretty easy paper, but even if it was hard, I would still find a way to put it off until the last minute. |
I had an 8-15 page paper due last thursday, I ended up doing it on wednesday, finishing it at about 10:30. It was about 10 pages..got an A on it tho :)
|
In the Spring I did an 11 page paper the day before/day it was due. I finished it maybe 15 minutes before it was due in the teacher's mailbox. I got there right before 5:00 just as she was about to collect all the papers :)

hmm, 2 semesters ago, I did my business management plan in about 3 hours, probably less. We had to create a whole management plan, for a business that we created. I picked the business and did all the work in about 3hours typed signed and ready to go. I even did the oral report that morning or before class rather and presented it after I wrote it :D
Grade: A+ I work best under pressure :D DGPhoney~ |
If anyone has every seen the movie the INSIDER it is about Jeffrey Wigand... well anyway, he was my sophomore year chemistry teacher in high school. We had a research paper due and I wrote a 23 page paper, annotated and footnotes and all in 7 hours one night. I did the research that night too. I slept through classes the next day, but since it was two papers and 3 tests I had to do good. Got an A too!

I wrote a 25 page paper in a day but I had done all the research earlier in the week. It literally took me all day.

Am I the only person who works ahead? |
The other night I knocked out a 16 page research paper with bibliography, an appendix and footnotes.
Never will i do that again though! d |
Heh, my last semester as an undergrad I decided to do an independent study paper on...here's the title " Successful and Unsuccessful Application of Air Force Core Values to Military and Political Leadership during WW2." My sponsor and grader of the paper was an Air Force Col. who has been in service for 26 years, so he knew his history. I miscalculated my estimate on how long it would take and ended up having to add 15 pages of writing to the 18 I already had. I woke up at 6:30 and worked straight, with only a break for lunch until 4:30 the next morning when the final draft was due. But, i got all 33 pages to him and got a B+, which i thought was pretty good because he was a perfectionist on the subject matter.:)

20 page paper....worth 90% of my grade. Finished an hour before due time.
|
ONLY 2.5 HOURS LEFT!!::eek: :cool:
I think I can get away with slapping the rest together since the grade isnt on the rough draft... I want to ace this so I can make sure I get an A in the course. I think I am in the low 90s or maybe at 90% right now. |
In high school I was enrolled in English Literature. Because I was in the school musical, and a great procrastinator, I did a 20 page paper in 2 days... I literally worked from 3 pm til 12 am for two days straight.
Lets just say I could write a literary evaluation on Tess of the D'Ubervilles by Thomas Harvey! At least she recognized my hard work at I got a 96%! I STILL HAVE THE PAPER! |
Biggest paper? I believe it was the Sunday New York Times. That sucker is heavy.
Seriously, I had a class in college that required five papers (5-8 pages each) during the quarter. I sat down and wrote them all on a Saturday. Have never done that before or since. I usually waited until the last minute. |
While my Law Prof. Stated " Mr. Earp, if Bullshit was worth a Grade you would have An A +
the most paper I used one day is when I had the runs and went thru half a roll:D |
My master's thesis. j/k :D
My degrees were in computer science, and other than the thesis, I didn't have a lot of big papers to write. But I did have to write some major computer code...! I did a team project once with 3 other people... we had a month to do the thing, and I wrote my code modules way ahead of time. The other 3 totally slacked off. So we pulled an all-nighter in the computer lab the night before it was due, and since I'd finished and unit tested my parts of the code, I got the unenviable task of writing the documentation. :p |
WOW! Everyone procrastinates just like me. Unfortunately, when I did, I never received the A's that you have. :(

4 twenty page papers, APA style. :(   :(
The last 3 were due one paper every other week. That's the great-psychology-weed-out-class.   |
In a weekend I began researching and wrote 4 essays that ended up being about 4-5 pgs. each then turned them in that Monday. I didnt even sit in front of my computer all day long, i went out and did things I normally do on weekends while managing to get my work done. I just got my grade back today and I made an 88.....TWO points from an A
But hey, i should be grateful considering it wasnt my best work and i should have researched more and taken my time in writing the essays! I would say i wont ever do it again, but i know i would if i had to. |
I did a 25 page geology paper in one day. And I ate an entire bag of Hershey Kisses while I typed...I think I needed the endorphine release! I actually got an A on that paper.

I usually work on my papers way ahead of time. ;) :p But, this semester, my poor roommate had a huge paper due. About 20 pages on the marketing, management, and financial aspects of Sprint. She spent weeks working on it. She was up the whole night before finishing the reference page. She saved everything to the hard drive but not to a disk (big no-no). I came home around 10am which was about three hours before the paper was due. She had gotten no sleep the night before. She asked me to look over the paper for any spelling or grammatical errors because she was too tired. There was a huge lightening storm outside. All the sudden, a bolt must have hit our building. All the power went out. My roomie looked at the computer and I think she almost fainted. The computer had shut off. I told her not to worry since she had saved everything to the hard drive. My boyfriend spent an hour trying to get her computer to turn back on when he had to tell her the dreadful news...her motherboard and hard drive were gone. I think she was too tired to freak out. She just sat down in the corner and cried for 30 minutes straight. She withdrew from the course the next day (the paper was a HUGE portion of her class grade).

I had a political science class "Post-Industrial Societies" - focused on the Western World - democratic, economically developed countries. Everything except the Soviet Union and third world, except where they were affected by the other countries.
Did include post-communist bloc countries. Like Poland. Man, do I ever hate Poland. Nothing against the people, I'm sure they're nice, but oh I'm still bitter about that paper. Final was 20-25 page paper on a country. Three part answer: 1. The social/political/religious/economic/etc. history. i.e. founding, history of their political parties, social developments, wars, etc. 2. Their current social/political/etc. status. i.e. current structure of government and political parties, modern economy, etc. 3. How we would "fix" that country's problems. This was a BITCH. Hello, we are just little undergrads and we're supposed to FIX a FREAKIN' country??? I was assigned Poland. I wanted to die - our Prof spoke 6 languages, including Polish, and was currently working on some serious research about that country. She had been there the previous summer. I managed to get it done though. Didn't sleep but 3 hours for 3 days straight. God bless No-Doz. Pulled an A in the class (had done well on the midterm). |
35 pages for my Comparative Black Literature class in Grad School.
Did I mention that I did most of the research two days before? The grade: A+ and a suggestion to submit it for publication. :) |
