Badgers or Grizzlies? Cyclone or Huskies?

The red mascot from Western Kentucky!

AZ-AlphaXi 03-15-2012 04:13 PM

^^^ thank you for thinking of Big Red .. we Hilltoppers are kinda' partial to him as well. :-)

Sciencewoman 03-15-2012 05:37 PM

Sparty from Michigan State. He has a sword, and armor.

Xidelt 03-15-2012 06:23 PM

The cougar from BYU has my vote.

carnation 03-15-2012 06:27 PM

The Evergreen State College geoduck.

AXOmom 03-15-2012 07:45 PM

^^^^Leave it to Evergreen to come up with a geoduck. One of the few schools in the Northwest that can make my Oregon Ducks look normal - LOL - but they aren't in the NCAA's this year. . . . . either one of them.

Would the geoducks even peek out of the sand to cheer for their team?

The New Mexico Lobo!

ElieM 03-16-2012 12:24 AM

I once did my football tipping based on which mascot I thought would win

Agreed. And he looks BIG.

FSUZeta 03-16-2012 08:01 AM

Florida States's Chief Osceola. He has a flaming spear and a fierce steed-Renegade.

AXOmom 03-16-2012 11:13 AM

^^^When the Cyclone/Tornado hit the Crimson Tide they would become.....a Hurricane - so the U wins. ......I think.

I think he is listed as one of the top 25 coolest/best college football pregame traditions somewhere.

The good news (at least for Dr. Phil if she ever happens to go to a CU basketball game) is that they don't get to run him around the basketball court :).

Hopefully, he will still send his spirit to the Buffs even if he can't be physically present since they represent the last single shred of basketball respect our conference has this year. Sigh.

Sciencewoman 03-16-2012 02:29 PM

I would not want to be one of those "handlers"...that looks really scary!

I picked the picture with a freaked out looking handler. All the other pictures didn't make him look nearly as scary.

It's actually awesome to watch Ralphie run. I took my boyfriend to see the CU vs Ducks game and he was so excited to see it. I think it might have been his favorite part of the game (other than winning of course).

NutBrnHair 03-16-2012 04:13 PM

The Stanford Cardinal

That big evergreen tree would fall on the other mascots and they would be crushed.

"If a tree falls during a basketball game..."

Hmm.

ThetaPrincess24 03-16-2012 04:24 PM

I was going to say the Kentucky Wildcat and his smaller counterpart, Scratch...until I saw Ralphie...

Alas, they are yet another Pac-12 team that didn't make the NCAA cut for the tournament, so the tree can't compete, but it's actually pretty easy to cut that tree down to size- at least if you're in Oregon. :D.

But the Stanford Women's Team made the NCAA tournament!

AXOmom 03-16-2012 09:00 PM

Wait...there's a women's tournament going on...JK. Thank heavens for that - at least one of the women's teams in our conference is good.

More than I can say for the men - WHO SUCK. Have I said that already - let me state it again - YOU SUCK PAC 12 basketball - pull it freakin' together. End rant.

I will root for the Stanford Tree in that case, but I still think I'll have to give the mascot competition to another school - Baylor Bears. They climb trees.
