When is Recruitment?
Recruitment 2012 will begin on Tuesday, August 7 with Recruitment Orientation and end on Monday, August 13 with Bid Day.

There is no due date for letters of recommendation but we encourage them to be mailed by August first.

Here are some important dates for Recruitment 2012:



Friday, July 27– Official disaffiliation for Recruitment Counselors, no further contact with Potential New Members

Sunday, July 29 – In-house girls can move in, special groups can begin practicing

Wednesday, August 1 – Chapter workshops may begin

Tuesday, August 7 – Potential New Members move in, Recruitment Orientation

Wednesday, August 8 – Round One (Open House)

Thursday, August 9 – Round One (Open House)

Friday, August 10 – Round Two (House Tours)

Saturday, August 11 – Round Three (Philanthropy)

Sunday, August 12 – Preferential Round

Monday, August 13– First day of UGA class, New Member Day

I'm curious as to how Bid Day being on the first day of classes works out. In all the schedules I've seen from other schools (including my own), Bid Day always seems to be one or two days before class begins. Anyone know the schedule for this day?

Classes happen, bids are distributed at 6 pm, women are transported by bus to their new house at 7 pm. Mass chaos on Milledge Avenue ensues. Exhaustion ranks supreme on Tuesday.

First round of pictures are up at Online Athens.

There were quite a few "no shows" for 1st round. I believe that the figure of 1,400 would be close to the number that actually participated. So far, so good...

how do you know how many "no shows" for round 1?

Was that day 1 of rush or a Lily fashion show? I saw the same couple dresses over and over on different girls. Hopefully they weren't disappointed about being dressed the same as some other girls because they virtually all looked great.

I also spotted some strapless wins in there. Fit is everything!

big cuts this morning...how did everyone do?

My daughter was only cut from a couple of her choices. She visited twelve houses today. I told her that I though that was pretty good considering she's a sophomore.

Anyone hear or see about how it's going? It's pref. day today, right? I saw a couple of cute photos on facebook, but I'd love to hear some more.

Preference is this morning. I think the pnms are now making decisions. Women will receive bids Monday at six o'clock and then go to their new homes.

I got cut yesterday night after attending five of the six parties for skit. It was quite a surprise for me I thought I was doing so well. Another good friend was also released and she has an outstanding gpa and extracurriculars. Im guessing our sophomore status hit us hard. Guess we could hope for a snap bid or one from COB.

Nut's PNM was released from Chi Omega and DDD (her Mom's chapter), so I'm waiting to hear...

I was up there this morning - it sas amusing that the entire wardrobe for Milledge Avenue seems to be black dresses - PNM and sisters alike.

Alpha Gam recruited in an air conditioned tent and in the old part of the house.

PNM128 -- I am so sorry! I'm keeping up with about 10 girls going through recruitment at UGA, some I did recs for. Yesterday was a very rough day in Athens. :(

Are prefs over with now? Has anyone heard anything about what quota is at UGA? Auburn? Thanks

haven't heard a quota number but I know they finished pref round this morning and have ranked their choices. Bid day starts at 6:00 tomorrow...

am happy that my rec girl has 3 great choices... seems like every house at UGA is a great choice from her feedback this week.

Football Fan -- just emptied it out -- hit me again!

I heard Pref cuts were difficult as well. Its been a tough Rush in the SEC!
