Alpha Xi Delta Members (Bowling Green) Killed on way to airport for Spring Break

The article spells it out. My heart does out to the parents, loved ones and sisters of AXiD.

How sad. Wrong way driver.

AlphaXi_Husky 03-02-2012 12:00 PM

Oh that is so sad. My heart goes out to their families and the sisters at BGSU.

AZTheta 03-02-2012 12:10 PM

So very very sorry... deep peace and comfort to all in this time of loss.

Mevara 03-02-2012 01:07 PM

This is so sad, my heart goes out to the family and friends of these ladies.

How does someone drive the wrong way on the highway?

ree-Xi 03-02-2012 01:07 PM

Utterly devastating.

If you read farther down the article, it says it happens fairly often there. Rather strange.

My heart goes out to the loved ones of those lost. And here's to hoping that the two who survived pull through.

IrishLake 03-02-2012 01:44 PM

So very horrible. :( I will be driving right past the spot of this tragedy tomorrow morning and will be praying for them and their families.

An elderly person driving the wrong way down any road is not that unusual. My grandmother just gave up her driving privileges last week due to the same reason. She went the wrong way down a one way street, and was cited a few weeks ago. Couple that with her diagnosis of alzheimer's on Monday, my mom and grandpa and an aunt had a sit down with her and she gave up the keys to her car (to my mom).

AZ-AlphaXi 03-02-2012 02:08 PM

So sorry for the chapter and all of our sisterhood.

So sorry to hear of this tragedy. Mere words will not console their families and sisters nor properly express my deepest condolences to all who are affected.

DEVODUDE 03-02-2012 05:02 PM

Very sad to hear this news. My sympathy goes out to the families and the sisters of Alpha Xi Delta.

amIblue? 03-02-2012 06:57 PM

So much lost. Prayers for their families, sisters, and friends.

groovypq 03-02-2012 07:13 PM

So heartbreaking. My prayers for all their loved ones, and for the two injured to speedily recover.

RaggedyAnn 03-02-2012 07:25 PM

How sad and heartbreaking. My prayers go out to their families, sisters and loved ones.

AGDLynn 03-02-2012 07:49 PM

I read it here first before the U of West Ga Greek Life posted on their FB page.

Truly sad for the family and Alpha Xi Delta.

Unfortunately, too many families and organizations have to go through senseless tragedies.

barbino 03-02-2012 09:23 PM

This is awful news and I will pray for all involved.

pinapple 03-02-2012 11:12 PM

This just came up on my news feed. It gets worse. The girls who were hit were being followed by other cars with Sisters (16 girls were headed to the airport) and some witnessed this horrific accident. Completely heartbreaking.

AUAZD2001 03-03-2012 01:47 AM

So tragic. My heart aches for my sisters, their families, and their university. Xi love and mine go out to Beta Mu.

KSUViolet06 03-03-2012 02:46 AM

This was all over my newsfeed this AM as one of the victims is from a town not even 20 min from me. So sad.

I don't live anywhere near where accident is, but people I know who are from there say that people accidentally drive the wrong way on that stretch all the time. I don't know how true that is, though.

Wynter 03-03-2012 02:48 AM

I just saw this and it breaks my heart.:(

So young...

I can't even imagine how traumatizing that must be...to see your sisters die. God, my thoughts and heart are with all effected :(

southbymidwest 03-03-2012 11:43 AM

How absolutely crushing for their loved ones, their sorority, and the BG community. My prayers go out to all affected by this tragedy. Even though BGSU has 16-17000? students, the town is a typical small midwestern college town, as pretty much everyone is associated with the university.

Benzgirl 03-03-2012 03:46 PM

This was so sad. I first heard about it yesterday. The first car of chapter memebersto pass the woman swerved as not to hit her. Unfortunately, the second car carrying the other members was not so lucky.

DubaiSis 03-03-2012 03:52 PM

And these girls did NOTHING wrong. I feel so badly for those sisters who had to watch this. Thankfully Alpha Xi Delta FHQ and the university stepped in right away because there is going to have to be some serious and lengthy counseling to keep these girls together, and still in school. This has been coming to my mind all day, and I didn't know any of the girls, didn't go to BGSU and don't know the stretch of road at all. Words can't begin to describe what a senseless loss this is for so many people.

Very touching article.

"...A clear vision of life, that with gracious and kindly hearts we may share both joy and sorrow, and bring into living reality the sisterhood of women...These things, O Lord, help us to instill within our hearts, that we may grow in courage, graciousness, and peace." - Symphony of Alpha Xi Delta

These women are emboding our symphony and I hope that they can find comfort in these words and in Alpha Xi Delta.
