My ears aren't pierced.
Guess I'll have to de-activate.:(:p

Pretty pretty!

melindawarren 02-29-2012 10:19 PM

I am SO glad this came up the day I finished midterms. I'm going to work on some!

aephi alum 02-29-2012 10:28 PM

Lovely! I especially like the "no-frills sister preference attire" - probably because every woman should own a little black dress and most of my wardrobe (dressy and non) is black. :p I'll see what I can put together when I have some free time (so ... never :p ).

AnchorAlumna, didn't you know that all sorority girls are required to have pierced ears, and if your ears aren't already pierced, they will be pierced at initiation using your new badge? Or maybe your sorority doesn't do that. (Don't mind me, I'm just being silly. :p )

KSUViolet06 02-29-2012 11:02 PM

I like that everything you have is pretty much safe for chapters at schools that are no frills (where usually the color can match but it can't be the EXACT same item.)

I think the J. Crew dress thing might walk the line a little (if you ordered them all in the same color.) I mean, technically, those are not all the same dress, but if someone were petty enough to file an infraction on you for it, they might have a leg to stand on.

Something I like (ignore the bouquets) for a semi-dressy round like 3rd (House Tours probably at my alma mater or the sisterhood round at some chapters I work with.)

Those are some great outfits. I especially like the navy dresses.

This was as creative as we got back in the day on my campus.

I am simply not good at this.

YES please!

Here is one I did for my own chapter for recruitment. The guidelines were purple, black, or grey top, jean or khaki bottoms, and any shoes/accessories. Were you looking for a more formal set?

Senusret I 04-15-2012 12:08 AM

Oooh, cute! Yes, I was also looking for something leaning toward pref-y attire.

psusue 04-15-2012 01:17 AM

Well you are in luck because I can't sleep tonight.

Just wondering, what do you all do when you have to make a bulk order, but the company doesn't have certain sizes that the sisters need? I know most places don't carry over an L or an XL. I can't imagine how embarrassing that would be for the handful of sisters that were out of the size range. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with being a bigger girl, but I can imagine that this has been an issue in the past for some chapters. I know it would be for me!

KSUViolet06 04-15-2012 01:26 AM

^^^A lot of places will work with you to get custom sizing if you're bulk ordering. Depending on the designer/company, the larger sizes may cost a little more. Some charge a small fee for say, anything over XL (because it takes more material to make it.)

You also just have to be mindful of the size range of the designer/company you're ordering from. Ex: If Awesome Dress Co. doesn't make the dress you want past a 12, and you know some girls are going to need 14s, you need to do some more research and find someone who carries a larger variety of sizes.

And if this is the case, the chapter should just pick up the extra $5, because passing it along to the larger sisters is kinda mean.

Love this for a Sigma preference party:

My first attempt at a recruitment set. This would be good for a round that's not quite pref but not first day either (like philanthropy or house tours.)

Ahhhh I love this thread, but I am failing at making my own :(

Can someone make an Alpha Sigma Alpha pref set? Red, white, rubies, pearls, etc?

KSUViolet06 04-27-2012 03:26 PM

^^^I can try!

Another one I came up with:

This could also be called the 3 P's pref party: Purple, Peplum, and Pearls. A black dress with a peplum, any kind of pearl jewelry, and a pop of purple on the shoes (and makeup). I like it.

frangiblefacade 04-27-2012 04:23 PM

Yay KSU :) Also the 3 P's is gorgeous!

KSUViolet, are you putting these together in photoshop or do you have a polyvore account? I'd love to actually look at the sets.
