-- If you check in more than three times a day, just to see if there are any new posts

--You start to miss your favorite GCers after one day of not posting

--While on vacation or any other time when you don't have internet access, you begin to think "I wonder what's happening on AKA Avenue or DST Boulevard."

--You truly hurt inside when the site was down

--You feel like you might be missing something whenever your not posting

- You start talking to others and thinking in How Comes!!!!

- You watch a show on TV and can't wait to get on GC to see what everyone had to say about it.

I am soooooooo much of a GC-aholic. These are my signs.

1. Maaaaaaaaaaan I think in HOW COMES all the time. When I was at the mall and the club this weekend, every thought was HOW COME or as NOVELLA says D***IT HOW COME depending on the action!!

2. You check GC very often -- too many times to count.

3. You have everything linked to your e-mail.

4. You talk about GCers, seen and unseen, to others and say my Friend so and so. . .

5. You tell someone "Well STEELTRAP said that SHAQ is doing XYZ."

6. You have a paper due or papers to grade but you are posting.

7. You are always observing things to think of new threads to see what GCers think.

8. You want to take field trips to hang out with GCers.

9. You TAKE NOTES to post on GC or make OTHERS take notes FOR YOU!:p ;)

10. Back in February after I had my wisdom teeth pulled and returned to work, there was this filter system that made it forbidden to access GC :mad: so I would get up early in the morning and reply to topics before I went to work and I would have Ideal08 & 12dn94dst copy and paste topics to my e-mail inbox . This was AFTER me e-mailing the filter system to tell them this was a positive message board where I exchanged educational ideas with others. :p :o This was also after I tried EVERYTHING to get it to work, like going back in History. I was soooooo :D when the filter company went BANKRUPT!!

11. When we discuss certain topics on GC and they come up with my non cyber buddies, I will say oh my friend McCoyRed or AKA2d said "XYZ" and they will say and where do you know them from and when I reply Greekchat, they think I am insane

12. I copy certain FIRECRACKER topics from here to a listserve I am on to see what others think.

13. I frequently check back to see if people have replied to my comments and QUOTED them or if I am having a cyber difference of opinion I check back more often.

14. There are always 2 windows open, GC and other.

15. I get :mad: when no one has HOW COMES!!

16. When I post a topic or give a reply, I check the box that e-mails me everytime someone replies.

You laugh out LOUD in the office @ a HC and don't care if they are looking...
Your keep track of the number of views a topic gets...
You update your fellow GC addicts (IM buddies) when you've posted a new reply to a thread (especially the HC thread)...
You get tripped out when someone doesn't reply to your PM...

I talk about my GC peeps to others. they think I'm crazy just for having cyber-friends anyway.

there is constantly a GC window open.

yeah, I take notes for yall, lol. I just want to share with yall, that's all. :)

you notice when peeps are MIA

you want the MIA peeps to come back

you see/hear stuff in real life, and you think to yourself, "I'ma hafta tell GC USERNAME about that..."

you can't wait to meet somewhere (anywhere) to finally get to chill with your GC peeps. (field/road trips, lol)

you tell other people about GC so they, too, can be addicted

you never post, but you read all day (that one was for my silent readers, you have a voice in me, lmao)

FINALLY, YOU KNOW YOU'RE A GC ADDICT WHEN...

your significant other knows the GC peeps names. :o (he don't have 'em memorized or nothin', but he no longer says, "who is aka2d," etc.)

~ When you haven't been on GC for WEEKS because of computer problems and you tell your honey that you have so many old emails you have to go through, you won't be able to go out. But then you spend the whole day reading all the threads you missed on GC.

But I agree with CT4's description of GC addictions. I am looking at it right now instead of writing, because it's so much fun and it makes me laugh.

...you talk on the phone to friends, sorors, fellow Greeks who happen to be GCers and you find that 85% of the conversation is about what's going on on GreekChat

...you tell new sorors you meet to go and introduce themselves on GreekChat- as if it were a requirement

I've just started telling people, "these people I know" or "this guy or girl said", because I don't want them to think I'm a internet addict. :rolleyes:

I'm not on here nearly as much anymore. But this is addictive.

You're happy and excited when GC finally comes back up after it's been down

You have to check GC before you check your email

You use GC faces in other places, like email, listserves, IM's, etc.

When there is no internet you wonder what is going on, on GC
You rush back from lunch hour just to check.
GC is the first site you go to when you log on to the net.
Anything that happens to you in everday life, you post it as a topic on GC first.
You wonder if people you meet, are on GC LOL:D

I knew I was addicted when I saw stuff on Tv and couldn't wait to get back online because I knew someone on GC has started a thread on it. Also, besides trying to put a face to a name, If something happens in the neck of the woods of a fellow GCer, I start wondering if they were invlolved.Like when the tragic September 11 events, I started wondering "Is so and so and all those other New York Gcers okay?"
