Movies that you almost or walked out on. It was that bad.

I think I started a thread about worst movies you've seen, but have there ever been any movies that were so bad that you walked out, or just stopped watching.

1. District 9 -Walked out
2. J Edgar -Walked out
3. Super 8 -Fell asleep

Thinking....

DSTRen13 11-17-2011 09:04 PM

Walked out on Moulin Rouge. Fell asleep during the second Matrix movie. Don't think there've been any others - I've pretty much stopped seeing movies in theatres.

thetaj 11-17-2011 09:08 PM

Walked out on Vantage Point. The whole audience would moan when it started over from someone else's vantage point lol

DeltaBetaBaby 11-17-2011 09:09 PM

Almost walked out on Dinner for Schmucks.

AZTheta 11-17-2011 09:11 PM

Cowboys and Aliens. *yawn* zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. (thankful it was at the "2nd run/cheap seats theater so didn't cost much. It. Was. Boring.)

Tulip86 11-17-2011 09:20 PM

The Hangover - was bored out of my brain
The 2nd Lord of the Rings movie - fell asleep
Transformers Revenge of the fallen - walked out

Yes! This! lol that movie sucked.

indygphib 11-17-2011 09:27 PM

Almost walked out of Pearl Harbor. Ugh, that was a TERRIBLE movie. Note to Ben Affleck: Either stick to your so-called southern accent for the role or don't do it at all. Drove me crazy to hear him slip in and out of that horrible excuse for an accent!

Also thought about walking out of The Last Dragon - HORRIBLE.

Fell asleep during Contact and Sahara (twice). BORING.

My ex had really crappy taste in movies in case you couldn't tell...

BluPhire 11-17-2011 09:32 PM

Never walked out of a movie. my taste are too particular for movie going.

Fell asleep on Castaway. Everytime if got the beach scene after the crash, the waves would put me to sleep.

This would be me. That movie really sucked and I hate paying theater prices anyway.

WVU alpha phi 11-17-2011 09:50 PM

The Time Traveler's Wife. I kept waiting for it to get better and it never happened. Plus I had dragged my boyfriend with me and didn't want to prove him right when he said the movie looked terrible!

That ice skating movie with Will Ferrell and the Napolean Dynamita guy. Can't even remember the name, it was so bad. I fell asleep in the theatre about half an hour into it.

IrishLake 11-17-2011 09:53 PM

^Blades of Glory!

We don't get to the movies often. But the last one we walked out on was Gods and Generals. It had an intermission, so we went home.

tinydancer 11-17-2011 09:56 PM

I also fell asleep during Contact, but at least I didn't snore like the man sitting across the aisle.

cheerfulgreek 11-17-2011 10:02 PM

I watched "From Hell" a couple of days ago. It was about Jack the Ripper, starring Johnny Depp. I missed some of it because I started falling asleep. It was really boring.

Xidelt 11-17-2011 10:04 PM

Titanic. Wish I could have walked out.

christiangirl 11-17-2011 10:15 PM

I walked out on "Runteldat," the Martin Lawrence stand up movie. I guess I didn't really get his humor because I like his movies but the stand-up was not funny. I left and went next door to watch Goldmember.

I nearly walked out on "Cabin Fever." When the n-word got dropped, I yelled "Oh hell no!" About a third of the theater walked out (it was a nearly all-black audience) and I started to go, too, but my friends pulled me back into my seat.

AlphaFrog 11-17-2011 10:28 PM

Waterworld.

Spice World.

Leslie Anne 11-17-2011 10:30 PM

I've fallen asleep during lots of movies. Too many to count. I've walked out of three that I can remember.

Born on the Fourth of July Just hated it.
Syriana I was just  .
Traffic Every scene seemed like it had a different color filter on the camera lens and each shot had a bright light in one corner and a big unfocused blob in another. I got a migraine and had to leave.

moe.ron 11-17-2011 11:01 PM

Blair Witch Project - motion sickness, I think half of the theater left early on.
Battlefied: Earth - Worst movie I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot of bad movies.
Waterworld - Fell asleep

Those are the top 3 bad one I've seen.

AGDLynn 11-17-2011 11:11 PM

Cabaret.

Twice.

Thankfully, I was working at the theatre so I got to see it for free.

psusue 11-18-2011 04:16 AM

The Lake House. Seriously? I still don't get it and it was awful.

Classic case of the book was better.

The only movie I walked out on was The Fabulous Baker Boys. I wanted to with Eyes Wide Shut, but was preoccupied with trying to figure out what was going on.

BraveMaroon 11-18-2011 08:46 AM

Never walked out of the theater, but my husband showed me Eraserhead, and I'll give anything a shot, but this one... halfway in, I got up, left the room and didn't come back til it was over.

Honeykiss1974 11-18-2011 11:09 AM

Paranormal Activity - walked out. I dont get all the hype over this series.

aephi alum 11-18-2011 02:27 PM

I came close to walking out when I went to see the last Star Trek movie. It would have been a good movie on its own, but it was just too far from canon. (Yes, I know there was heavy use of time travel and therefore they didn't "have to" adhere to canon, but come on. Spock and Uhura??)

honeychile 11-18-2011 08:33 PM

Out of Africa. We left at the intermission and managed not to die of boredom.

etadrisophila 11-18-2011 08:43 PM

I fell asleep at "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"!

Me too. I've never walked out of a movie in a theater, because I would feel like I had wasted money plus I'm optimistic and will hold out hope until the last minute that the movie is salvageable.

I almost walked out of a Hannibal on IMAX. The brain scene literally almost made me throw up. Instead, I closed my eyes and plugged my ears for about 10 minutes. lol

I don't sleep in public, so I've never fallen asleep in a movie either.

littleowl33 11-19-2011 04:31 AM

The only movie I've ever walked out of the theater on was Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Fell asleep in the theater during Thor.

ASUADPi 11-19-2011 09:14 AM

I've never walked out of a theater because of the money I've spent to see the movie.

I have stopped watching rentals if within the first 20 minutes I'm either confused or bored out of my mind.

Eragon-bored out of my mind
Gladiator-really wanted to like this, but man I had to shut it off after 15 minutes.

*winter* 11-19-2011 10:47 AM

Paranormal Activity. Actually, I stuck around, only because I was enjoying the "commentary" by the other people in the theatre. But I thought it was HORRIBLE!

AnchorAlumna 11-19-2011 11:19 AM

Showing my age here: Ryan's Daughter. Made by David Lean, the same guy who made Bridge Over the River Kwai, Lawrence of Arabia, and Dr. Zhivago. RD took itself way too seriously. We started laughing and then left.

I love that movie! I have to see it every few years. But its structure is heavily influenced by David Lean's pattern - sweeping music, big themes, romantic leads.

This makes me incredibly sad. My dad managed 4 movie theatres so I grew up watching anything and everything. I still love to go to a theatre. But the moviemakers are not making it easy by only making stuff that appeals to 13 to 24-year-old males.

cjburris93 11-19-2011 11:30 AM

I walked out on "The Adventures of Ford Fairlane". To date, it's the only film I've ever gave the order to abandon ship. No clue why I even bothered to see it.

Oh you and me both! I rate Ryan's Daughter as the worst movie I ever saw.

There was an intermission and about half the audience left, thinking that was the end. I wish I had gone with them!!

KKGCaroline 11-19-2011 06:36 PM

Sex and the City 2...... just terrible

Same here.

Lost in Translation and The Big Lebowski both got cut at the 20-30 minute mark.

knight_shadow 11-19-2011 07:48 PM

Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (had to Wiki the name)

I am not a fan of the series, but decided to see it with 2 fraternity brothers I was working with at the time. I fell asleep within the first 10 minutes.

You made it further than I did on both those. I do not get what the deal is about The Big Lebowski. It's just weird.

I rented Love in the Time of Money and promptly fell asleep. Sooooo didn't get it.

AGDee 11-20-2011 10:24 AM

Back when I used an actual video store for DVDs, I was trying to rent The Notebook. The wrong movie was in the case though so I ended up with I <3 Huckabees. Most awful movie ever.
