That was fun..

victoriana 10-26-2011 01:54 AM

Ewww scary.

WCsweet<3 10-26-2011 01:55 AM

Almost wish I hadn't done that right before bed.

Mevara 10-26-2011 12:35 PM

Do you know if you really need head phones for the "best experience"?

knight_shadow 10-26-2011 12:37 PM

I think it's funny that you need to allow this app to access your FB information before you can view it. I'll pass lol

CeCe Newbie 10-26-2011 01:40 PM

I'm too scared to click on it, but would that happen to be the site with the creepy guy looking at all of your Facebook stuff? I saw it on Tumblr.

DubaiSis 10-26-2011 02:27 PM

Yes CeCe. Knight, I think you're safe from viruses, etc. - they say right on it it's safe:p

I'm not worried about viruses. I just think it's funny that an app urging you to be careful with your FB information is asking to access your FB information ;)

Kevin 10-26-2011 04:31 PM

Doesn't look like a good idea.

All my friends are doing it and they're like "ooohhh creepy!" They are completely missing that the reason it does what it does is because they put all their personal stuff on Facebook and accept friend requests and any app. No one seems to be giving it a moment of thought that maybe they have TMI there that they're opening up to nearly anyone.

Senusret I 10-26-2011 06:25 PM

THIS WAS OFF THE CHAIN!!!!! LOVED IT!

Senusret I 10-26-2011 06:26 PM

I wonder what it's promoting.

I took it as a PSA. This app isn't any different than farmville or whatever in how it accesses your info, it's just that this one is more...in your face with the results.

What a waste if it's just a PSA. I want it to be advertising a movie.

DubaiSis 10-27-2011 01:40 AM

It was very well done.

And yes, I understand the conflict there. My husband is one of those who friends and likes everything he encounters. AND he's currently looking for a job. Greeeeaaat.

crosscaravan 10-27-2011 12:30 PM

I know I should take it seriously and all, but I just couldn't stop giggling about the fact that I did it three times, and every time he didn't pull up a single picture of me that was actually taken in the city I live in. Or in the state, for that matter.

It also kind of amused me how he got the city name right but there was no address, so Google Maps had a straight line going down streets on the other side of town.

I kinda want to see what this would do from some of my friends' Facebook accounts, though - does the Google Maps part usually have their address or something, or is it just the city, always?

33girl 10-27-2011 12:33 PM

I can't remember the last time I accepted an app on FB, but most of them do not ask for all of that, nor do they itemize it.

Pretty obvious what they're trying to do. Epic fail.

thetaj 10-27-2011 01:33 PM

That was really creepy. Until one of my pictures dramatically popped up and it was just a shot of my butt while I was rock climbing, then I lol'd.

IrishLake 10-28-2011 09:35 AM

What's with the clock counting down at the end? I'm not patient enough to wait for it to count down for an hour.

I think if you have an address on FB, it Google Maps the address.

I had the same thing you did, as I don't have an address on FB.

Sidenote: Who puts their ADDRESS on FB anyway?

I'm amazed at how many of my friends "Check In" at their homes! I started messaging them and saying "Hey...Do you know that when someone clicks on your check in, it shows your address??"
EVERY SINGLE TIME the response is "LOL, I know." or "LOL I know but I KNOW all of my facebook friends." Yeah, okay.
Weirdos.

Mevara 06-25-2012 06:45 PM

Why would you check in at home?! Besides it showing your address it can also give people an idea of when you are and when your not home.

For every person who uses facebook (and twittter) for nonweirdo reasons, there are 10,000 people who use facebook (and twittter) for weirdo reasons.

Both of these were true for me and it made me feel much better. I also laughed at the fact that my profile pic is not one of me so the photo in the car was less creepy.

Ditto. I was super eeked until it dramatically panned to a picture of my feet in swimming flippers. Then I giggled. :)

The thing that really scared me was seeing my little cousins as part of the video. I am friends with them and, while my page is on lockdown with little info, I could still be a medium to them if I were hacked. That gave me chills.

Haha this would be a nice way to advertise for a movie. All the pictures that it showed of me were pictures of me with people I'd just met. It was strange. I love that it tells you who the next target is too.

PaddyMaxwell 11-26-2015 12:34 AM

Yeah... Lollipops from strange IP addresses are ~completely safe~...

ColdInCanada11 11-28-2015 02:54 PM

Am I the only person who doesn't just randomly add people, and I never add apps? Maybe I'm just old fashioned, though
