Cincinnati NPC Recruitment starts today with 475 PNM's

It is another record breaking registration! (2010 was 425, and 2009 was 350).:o

Woo Hoo!! Local recruitment news. Keep us informed. I will try to work my sources as well. Those numbers are great. It wasn't too long ago when the numbers were way low.

When my niece posted on FB last week, "Hell week", I was giving hope that she was going through recruitment and was just cranky. No such luck. She will be spending Winter quarter in Spain so she wasn't going to give it a thought. Most of her friends are Thetas, and she did a lot with their chapter last year.

Woosh! Big number! Is their rush always so late in the fall quarter?

Katmandu 10-22-2011 09:48 PM

IrishLake, yes they have held recruitment around this time for a long time. UC always had a late start for the regular school year as well. Their academic year was the quarter system, and school began in mid-late September, so October was about a month after school began. They are switching to the semester system, so it will be interesting to see if recruitment switches up too. The numbers are outstanding. I hope everyone makes quota.

Does anyone know how it's working with Gamma Phi Beta? Are they already colonized? I haven't kept up, obviously.

When ONU switched to Semesters this fall, their recruitment did too. Pretty much started right away.

TPA85 10-22-2011 10:49 PM

Wright State is switching next fall from quarters to semesters and recruitment will change with it.

Ohio State is also switching to semesters next year. Probably won't affect formal recruitment too much since it is deferred, and starts in mid January. It might affect fall informal (for 2nd years and up only, pretty much every sorority participates to get back up to house total (100) before formal) simply by moving up dates since school will start a month earlier. But since no one from OSU Greek Affairs has called me personally to tell me the deal, I could be wrong!

Any word from Cincinnati?

madoug 10-24-2011 06:26 PM

Word on Bid Day today is that all current groups got at least 48!!!
Gamma Phi Beta does their recruitment for the new colony in 2 weeks.

Katmandu 10-24-2011 09:09 PM

I just heard from a KD alumni officer that Kappa Delta had a very successful recruitment and welcomed 48 new members!

Football Fan 10-25-2011 12:01 PM

According to the Greek Life site on Facebook there were 340 new NPC members. That does not include any number for Gamma Phi Beta as they have not completed their recruitment.

UC Bid Day pictures are on www.mypicturesnow.com for

I (sort of) did the same thing! I've been waiting to hear Epsilon's number so when the eNews email popped up on my phone I opened it right away. Before my email even loaded I opened GC in a new tab and saw that you already posted!

Congratulations, Theta Phi's! You got one of my son's good friends. Having known her since 5th grade, I was anixiously awaiting what home she would find. She is delightful and will be a great addition to your chapter.

Gamma Phi Beta's colony recruitment begins tonight on campus! How exciting...I wish them well! They were on campus staffing an info table with hot pink laptops earlier this week.

KSUViolet06 11-01-2011 10:48 PM

Loving the high numbers that Ohio schools have been seeing in the past year or 2.

Thank you for sharing! I hope she has a wonderful time as a pledge sister!

I am so excited!

I'm excited too, SWTXBelle! It's great to see UC Greek life expanding after so many years of stagnation. I found an old UC yearbook in a thrift store a while back and browsed through the Greek pages, and it was sad to see so many sororities that used to be on campus and now gone. Nice to see it growing rather than shrinking and excited to see GPB coming to Cincinnati,

TPA's from out of town.... the Theta Phi house is old and cool, and their alum base here is very loyal!

SWTXBelle 11-08-2011 08:52 PM

118 beautiful new Gamma Phi Betas!
