Addictive Rush Chants
 

Are there certain rush chants that your chapter does before the rushees enter the room? Are there certain ones you can't get out of your head??

At the moment, I have:

Come on in, join the fun
meet the AlphaGams, each one
Friendship, Love and Loyality
we're the girls of AGD,

ETC ETC
UGH, it keeps on going in my head! lol

It was the chant we did when we played football against some fraterntiies too.......

Delta Pi always used the song "Which Way to Sisterhood?" and "With An A." Those were a big hit. But whenever we chanted, I swear, you could hear us all the way across campus.

On Bid Day, all the sororities would gather on the quad and chant and sing, while we waited for the new members to come out of the Student Union and run to the sisters. I swear, we were so damn loud the other poor sororities could hardly get a word in edgewise!

There are like 5 versions of With An A

We just just song it straight, no A to the L.

But I know of the straight version

to the A to the L to the PHA

With an A with an A, LPHA

and ive heard of others.

We also learned for the sing it part....

OMG, I loved College Girl! That was one of my faves. Does anyone remember "Just Want To be an Alpha Gamma Delta"?

Oh Mah Lawd Maria! I was thinking of that same song but I was trying to remember how it started!

The best part of that song was yelling:

" I don't want to be a <greek letter> " "! "

and also naming other jewels that we "didn't want" lol.

BTW, off topic, but this is too funny. I took Pumpkin shopping with me a few days ago, and I realized that I was being stared at by people. Then I took a good look at myself and realized:

Who is wearing a matching red sweater with a pearl collar
In my red Kate Spade Sam bag
With the lights glinting off my silver Tiffany tag bracelet.

And then I knew it: No matter how non-traditional I think I am--I am a red-blooded, All-American, card-carrying Sorority Girl!

Pumpkin looks EXACTLY like Bruiser in "Legally Blonde." She could have been a doggie body double. I get to keep her until Friday or Saturday. We will be so sad when we have to give her back. She's like a part of the family.

The last time we dogsat for her, Sean and I were just devastated for a few days when we gave her back. If she wasn't my boss' dog--and if my boss wasn't a good friend--I would tell her I lost Pumpkin and just not give her back!

That's terrible, I know...but yes, Pumpkin is THAT super. I would reduce myself to a life of crime for her, LOL.

Hey Alpha Gams! I've never really posted here before, but I like to come here occasionally and see what is going on at other schools=)
I heard this song at the University of Georgia when some of the girls from my chapter went to watch their first round of parties and help out. Its kind of stuck in my head.

Hey ladies! Thank goodness for whoever started this because we are in need of a new door chant! Of course we use "come on in" when the rushees enter, but Alpha Xi Delta does "with an A and a L...." so, if anyone has any other/new chants that don't involve damn, please post them! Ya'll are so wonderful!

We have a slightly different version of "With an A":

With an A, with an A, with an A-L-P
With a P, with a P, with a P-H-A
With an A and an L and a P-H-A
Alpha Gam!

The same goes for the Gamma and Delta, but the rest is the same as what's already written elsewhere on this thread. The Alpha Phi's used to sing the same song during rush so we always had to listen if they were singing it on a particular day so that we were not both singing the same thing.

Boom de adah is one of my favorites! Does anyone know the rest of the words to the one that ends "Oh yes, I'm glad I'm an Alpha Gam, oh yes, I'm glad I'm an Alpha Gam, It's Alpha Gam for me"? I've been trying to remember how it starts, because those are the only lines I can remember right now.

Oh, I remembered now...those are the last lines to "Come on In". Silly me! ;)

Hey guys... this thread is kinda cool so im bumping it back up, but i had a question too... does any other chapter have "bad" chants and songs that they do? We do "shoulders like a barrel" and "take your man around the corner" and "Beer Beer for old Alpha Gam" and "Mata Hari"... i think theres another one, but its been a few months since i thought about them much... if you want the words, PM me, or if you have any others... i didnt think they were too appropriate to post... could look bad on us as a whole, although all sororities have them. They're really fun to chant on special days like Jump and Bid night when we march with the new members all over campus :) If you know of any others will you let me know? we love learning new chants :D

I don't know if anyone else does this one...but not only do we love it but the entire campus loves it! And it only comes out at special occasions with a special leader.
