Even if an exception was made for you, most sororities usually have a higher GPA requirement than the university. Work on your grades, then sign up for Recruitment - you'll encounter much less heartache.

honeychile pretty much summed it up. Even if there was an exception, which there isn't, most sororities have higher grade requirements than the minimum set by Panhellenic.

victoriana 07-23-2011 12:17 AM

Oh sweetie. I don't even think you can graduate with a 0.4.

Given your shaky academic past, is adding the time demand of a sorority really wise? This is something only you can answer, but please keep in mind that you are in college for primarily academic reasons, and it is not worth risking your borderline GPA just to be greek.

That said, an exception likely will not be made, but we cannot tell you definitively. Contact the local group, the greek office at your school, or both. We do not have answers regarding specific practices on your campus.

And recycled troll rears its ugly head.

*yawn*

Why bother coming here and asking a question and then argue with everyone who gives you an answer that you don't like??

You have been answered based on our experience. If you know better that the women here and can get a local sorority with lower standards to accept you, go for it.

That would be totally up to the professor, and your ability to talk yourself out of a hole.

I hate you for no QFP. Seriously.

lovespink88 07-23-2011 10:09 AM

Way to not QFP, anyone!!!

It basically said "I have a 2.46 GPA. The cutoff is 2.5, can exceptions be made?"

Far less exciting than last time.

Pretty much. Throw in some...

"I'm not going down without a fight"
"I think it IS wise for me to join when my GPA is on the cusp"

...and you get the gist of the other posts.

DubaiSis 07-23-2011 03:11 PM

Well no, to correct you knight shadow, the other thread was I have a 2.45 GPA and the recruitment requirement is 2.5, so this is clearly a whole different person, since she's only .04 away from making the cut. I'm sure you're mistaken that she's a troll ;)

knight_shadow 07-23-2011 03:14 PM

Duly noted :)

KSUViolet06 07-23-2011 03:31 PM

I'm really upset with the lack of QFP.

I give you guys cute wedding porn and this is how you repay me?
