Ladies, would you choose...great money over great sex?

That is, if given the choice, would you take the loaded corporate CEO who is a cold fish or the eniless dreamer who would give 100% every time out? Let's see where priorities lie...

AOIIAngel 11-19-2001 11:57 AM

Wow, tough question-but I would take the money-loaded guy(yeah, I can be pretty shallow at times-as long as he is great to me and treats right) because you can ALWAYS teach him to be better in bed. Or try to anyway.

xok85xo 11-19-2001 12:10 PM

Ditto..with enough practice/direction/teaching anyone can become better in bed

valkyrie 11-19-2001 12:13 PM

Well, in real life, I don't think it would be as simple as sex or money, because there would be more to it than that. The first thing I think of when I think "loaded CEO" is an older, self-absorbed guy who eats steak, drives an SUV, has a wine cellar, smokes cigars, is conservative, looks in the mirror more than I do and has no interest in pleasing a woman. When I think "penniless dreamer" I think of a younger, artist/musician type who is creative and interesting, compassionate, liberal, shops at Whole Foods and reads poetry, and is insightful and willing to please others. Now please understand that I IN NO WAY mean to say that these characteristics apply in any way to EVERY guy who is either a CEO or penniless. These were just the first things that popped into my head (and I haven't had coffee yet).

What would I choose? It's not even close -- of course I would take the penniless dreamer. Someone who gives 100% every time is someone who truly feels passion in life and is someone I'd want to be around all the time. Money can always be made (and truthfully, while nice, as long as you have enough for your basic needs, more isn't really important) but passion for life cannot be taught. You either have it or you don't. Besides, if I want money, I can make it myself. Sex, ahhh, is better with someone else. :)

IowaHawkeye 11-19-2001 12:21 PM

no doubt about it - i would choose the great sex
money can't buy you happiness, but great sex might bring it ;)
i'm going to be making myself rich, i don't need a man to do that for me :D

and i agree with valykrie - passion in the bedroom breeds passion in other areas of life, and i would rather have a man so passionate about his life and the people in it than self absorbed about making the next buck

SH80er 11-19-2001 12:41 PM

Great money!
I couldn't care less about sex.

DeltaBetaBaby 11-19-2001 01:43 PM

I would definitely take the great sex, because I plan to make enough money that I won't need anyone else's.

volgirl2376 11-19-2001 02:13 PM

I would have to agree with DeltaBetaBaby...I already have money from my awesome job & plan to make some more.....
I would rather wake up in a cheap Rooms 2 Go Bed with a big smile on my face....money comes and goes, but great sex lasts....for awhile, then viagra kicks in :D

shadokat 11-19-2001 02:54 PM

I'd take the money. You can always go out and buy a cabana boy :)

DGPhoney 11-19-2001 03:14 PM

I would have to say great sex, because money can't buy everything, and yea money could possibly buy good sex, but who's to say after spending all that loot that it's going to be the bomb diggity ya know!!!
i Would rather be with the one that can give a 100% and dream up some good stuff, know what I am saying ;)
DGPhoney~

amycat412 11-19-2001 03:15 PM

Great Sex definitely.
I've dated loaded guys who were passionless and I've learned that the one thing I can't live without is passion.

ErikaXO 11-24-2001 01:12 AM

Ouch. Tough one. I would never have married a guy with no money, particularly because I have always been wary of golddiggers. I figure if he has enough of his own he won't be after mine. But if I had to choose exclusively between the two, I'd choose the sex. I don't need to worry about money, gotta have the great sex!!!!!!!!! And lots of it!!!!

AlphaChiGirl 11-24-2001 03:25 PM

Yeah...I'm financially stable now. I'd take the penniless loverboy. He can always get a job. The loaded CEO (who probably needs Viagra) can't always get a clue in bed.

HC all the sex talk, GC? HC? ;)

aggieAXO 11-24-2001 03:35 PM

rt. now at this very moment, after reading all of these sex threads/comments I would definitely take the great sex

KillarneyRose 11-25-2001 11:44 PM

I would, and did, choose the great sex! When I met my husband, he was still in the Navy which means he didn't make a lot of money but he didn't need much because I never let him leave my apartment when he would come to visit anyway. The guy I was dating when I met hubby was loaded but boring ! So I chose the great sex over the loads of money.

Happy ending though! Hubby saw the light and got out of the Navy so I ended up with both! Yea!!!! :) :) :)

alphaxidelta12 11-26-2001 01:16 AM

amen!

i completely agree...what is a relationship w/o passion? i mean if you dread going to bed every night in fear your husband is gonna try something, you're romantic life is gonna suck. plus, who says i won't be the one w/ all the dough!!!!!!

James 05-08-2007 06:22 PM

I agree with iowahawkeye... i would take amazing sex and a great passion for life.
money... well yea its helpful and i would definate like that, but I don't think i'd be as happy. plus the rich CEO probably wouldn't have a sense of humor ;) and thats the best thing for me, make me laugh and you're all good :p

LOL I thought of someone's signature when I saw this thread. I think it was either damasa's or bobbthedon's.

Funny how people change in 5 1/2 years! :)

I still think I would go for money. I am a broke grad student. And when I graduate I will have student loans. Plus, the profession I'm going to school for doesn't pay shit.

However, if someone would let me be a pillow princess/queen, I so would NOT choose the money. Yep, I just said that!

No doubt - great sex. So what if I'm poor - I can just have sex and forget all about it. :p

xoheatherxo 05-09-2007 12:35 AM

totally great sex over money...you can always make money--and i wouldnt marry anyone for money--im not that girl. id rather make my own and not have to depend on anyone else.

I say neither. I'd rather find someone who was somewhere in the middle of the 2 extremes.

Penniless dreamers were fun as a college student/20-something looking for fun. (Note - I interpret penniless dreamer to generally be someone not terribly motivated.) But, while I would never marry for money and certainly would turn down the cold fish CEO, let's face reality - when you have a household to run (kids, bills, mortgage, etc.), you need a partner who's going to work hard right along with you. Not be frittering the days away with one half-baked dream after another...

AKA_Monet 05-09-2007 03:11 AM

In my situation, my husband acts like a miser but has nowhere near enough money as a loaded CEO.

But, I actually had the choice of marrying a multi-millionare. But, if you marry one, when he says "jump", you have to say "how high"? If he wants you buck naked on the bed before he comes home, guess what you have to be...

I felt I deserved better and when I finally met the man who would be my husband, I felt completed as a human being. I felt truly blessed.

OneTimeSBX 05-09-2007 09:27 AM

at the risk of sounding ho-ish, id have to get with the good sex.

i am the type of girl that, although i love cash, if i was with Dr. Cold Fish, id be gettin the sex from somewhere else. Pool boy anyone?

a guy that is 100% focused on me but not too rich? i'm all for that! hell, he can just work 2 jobs, or ill work 2, whatever!

Liking good sex doesn't make you look ho-ish, unless you're around crazy prudes. Liking sex with 30+ men, may make you look ho-ish.

You should have married the guy and kept your fingers crossed during the signing of the prenup.

It might've worked ;)

Great question. I think I would have to say great sex. A rich guy is not really important for me, as long as he's working and responsible that's all that matters. We can always find ways to make more money. A guy with ambition will find a way. If he doesn't, then we'll just continue having great sex. :)

_Opi_ 05-09-2007 02:39 PM

In real life, other factors need to be considered. But I would definately go with the great sex.

KSUViolet06 05-09-2007 07:16 PM

I'd take the money. Great sex isn't so great in cardboard box, under a bridge, or in a motel filled with drifters and junkies.
