Still rooting for Madeline. Go my Macon Magnolia sister! |
Couple more updates on Greek women competing Sunday for Miss USA:
(combining the whole list so it's all in 1 spot) Brittany Toll, Miss New Mexico- Zeta Tau Alpha Hope Driskill, Miss Missouri- Chi Omega Keeley Patterson, Miss Mississippi- Kappa Delta Julianna White, Miss New Jersey- Zeta Tau Alpha Ashley Elizabeth Durham, Miss Tennessee- Alpha Gamma Delta Jaymie Stokes, Miss Kansas- Gamma Phi Beta Madeline Mitchell, Miss Alabama-Phi Mu Julianna White, Miss New Jersey - Zeta Tau Alpha Allyn Rose, Miss Maryland - Delta Gamma Page Pennock, Miss Louisiana - Kappa Delta Courtney Turner, Miss South Carolina - Alpha Delta Pi Rebecca Goldsmith, Miss Iowa - Phi Omega (local sorority at Cornell College) And, can't confirm, but I think Miss California, Alyssa Campanella, is a Zeta Tau Alpha (from The College of New Jersey). If anyone knows for sure, please add or delete. Then, the original Miss Maine 2011, Emily Johnson, is a Pi Beta Phi. She resigned her crown earlier this year because NBC moved the Miss USA pageant from April to June and it was the same day as her sister's wedding (she's maid of honor ... I'll say!) |
Yea for Miss TN (USA)!
On the other side of the coin, we have Miss TN (America)....Erin Hatley, Alpha Gamma Delta! Super duper cool if both won! |
Miss Colorado...homeless...
Crashing here. When I first saw this thread, I thought that I it was Miss USA and unique stories.
Here is the story of Miss Colorado. Like many, she was laid off, then homeless. Quote:
http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/417783...on_and_beauty/ I am not sure if she is in a GLO. I believe that she was laid off from Saks Fifth Avenue when they closed their store in Denver. |

I believe I counted 6 of the Greek women who are quarter-finalists.
Very cool clip of Halle Berry :) |
Can't stand female hostess.
|
The bathing suits get smaller every year. And they sure as hell are playing up sexy-sexy-sexy with every comment... I am sure at the direction of The Donald
|
I tried to watch but the swimsuit segment and "we love our candy wrappers" swimming pool scene reminded me why I hate beauty pageants.
I was happy to see Andy Cohen and Kelly Osbourne. :) Not enough to keep watching. But good luck to these contestants. |

The swim suits are smaller, the bodies seem smaller (they probably aren't), and EVERYONE LOOKS THE SAME FROM HEAD TO TOE!!!! That uniformality annoys me. |
4 Greeks in the semi-finals.

ETA: Leonard posted that. Also, Hawaii's dress is ill-fitting. |
The music being played/sung during the evening gown competition is making me want to put a fork in my ears
Kelly Osborne... please just shut up. |

2 of the 4 finalists are Greek! (Trying not to spoil for anybody in later time zones)

Unless she says something incredibly stupid during the interview, I am predicting Miss California to win...
Anbody else got a guess? |
Miss West Virginia, Whitney Veach, is my sorority sister!
|
I wanted to update and correct something I said, earlier. Miss Alabama is currently a student at the University of Alabama and NOT an Alumna. Sorry for the mistake.
|
This chick hosting is scary skinny. She looks extremely unhealthy.

What was with the question about how women get disrespected by their husbands in the media or whatever? I mean, everyone else got some really TOUGH questions and then the lady throws that one out? I'm not really sure I liked many of the questions or at least some of the answers. I'm sure it's tough for these ladies being really nervous. I wish them all luck but, I'm def. cheering on the Alabama and Tennessee!!! |

Scary hostess's name is Giuliana Rancic, she hosts several programs on the E! network. Whenever she reports from the red carpet she always asks stars about their diet and fitness regimes. You can't tell tonight, but she looks extremely orange when standing next to fair-skinned celebs!
|
I'm rooting for Alabama and have been all night!
I think they all did pretty well considering they don't get a lot of time to 1. think about their answer and then 2. to say their answer. I don't think I could do what they do. (But I also know that these women have trained for YEARS). |

Sorry it kind of bugs me when a doctor tells you how to improve your chances of conceiving and instead of doing what the doctor has said you want to moan and groan and whine and complain because you aren't getting pregnant. (My SIL is one of those people, so I've got some first hand knowledge on this stuff). -end mini hijack |

For what it's worth, from her wikipedia page: Her doctors had recommended that she gain weight in order to increase the chances of pregnancy. In February 2010, she stated that she had gained five pounds, and was working on gaining more weight. The couple began in vitro fertilization (IVF) in March 2010,and got pregnant in the spring of 2010, however Giuliana suffered a miscarriage at eight weeks.Rancic had an IVF transfer for a second time in November 2010, however the procedure did not result in a pregnancy. |
