The Return of Harry Potter?
A new and mysterious website has popped up by the author of the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling.
The new website only shows 2 owls and a big Coming Soon sign with the announcement of what it's all about to be expected on June 22. Rumors and speculation swirl about what it's going to be about. I am really hoping she's returning to write about the world of Harry Potter (I'm a nerd, I know) but we'll just have to wait and see. |
:):):)

The trailer is wicked good! Here's hoping for a great final movie.
|
I've heard that she was going to do another book that's kind of like a companion book with stuff like maps and visual depictions of stuff in the books, a dictionary of spells/potions, an encyclopedia of creatures, etc. But who knows?

You can tickle the owls on the you tube link.

This makes me so happy I want to cry. This is just what fans who are starting to suffer from post-Potter withdrawal are going to need. I feel as though my life will be somewhat lacking if I don't have something HP to wait for, because for the past 11 years of my life there's always been something. She has so much talent and could do a lot with both the HP universe and anything else she'd want to write about. And now is the time because she has the loyal fan base and clearly does not need to worry about making money, so why not try something? She's been on a four year hiatus, and I know I'm ready to see something (anything?) new. ::scurries off to keep re-reading the first HP book, as re-readings are a 'requirement' before each new movie release::
|
As much as I adore the books, her other companion books haven't filled the void for me. While Tales of Beedle the Bard, Quidditch Through the Ages, and Fanastic BEasts and Where to Find them are good, they just didn't satisfy my HP addiction. I would love to read a story about the children and their adventures. I have to rely on fan fiction, and many of my favorites FF are abandoned halfway through the story.

She needs to write Hogwarts:A History. Or perhaps a series with the Maruaders.
|
Word on the street is that this is a promo for a branded smartphone.

I'm trying to not get my hopes up. It would be so cool if she wrote Hogwarts, a History, but that just might be the nerd coming out of me. |

Though, according to the reps, it's not a book. http://news.yahoo.com/s/mashable/201...nto_a_frenzy_1 ETA: I just clicked on a YT vid with JKR talking about Ron and suddenly got a craving for a bacon sandwich. These characters clearly have too much influence over my life if I'm channeling Ron's stomach! |
If it's not a book, I fully expect some type of digital publishing. Aka an encyclopedia or short story series. If it's a phone branding or a video game I'm not going to be too pleased. We've had enough of those things. It's been four years since we've had something new in the HP world to read. I know I'd like something else.

My sister and I agreed: I'm not allowed to read Harry Potter before bed anymore. |
If this isn't a book or a game, I'm not interested. I'm not interested in a Harry Potter smartphone or any more piddly companion books either, unless it's a history of Hogwarts.
|
I'm slightly miffed that it's supposedly not a book.
I don't really know what else I'd be interested in. I don't really care about all those mini books either.... I was hoping it was the story of Harry's parents and the events leading up to their death/Harry's survival Also, if it's the story of their kids, there is no way I will keep characters straight. I did not like the kids being named after everyone in the first place. |

Pottermore mystery leaked.
http://books.usatoday.com/bookbuzz/p...more-/175279/1 Interesting concept (if it's true). |
Well... there go the remaining subscribers to Second Life...

Harry Potter e-books. Whoop de doo, don't care. It's just another way for JK Rowling to make money. I'm pretty disappointed.
|
At least it's better than a phone...
|
Well she said she'd be putting previously unreleased material online there too. From what I gathered (although she certainly wasn't very specific in her youtube video) it would be a kind of fan fiction site. Maybe? Or maybe I heard that completely incorrectly.
Whatevs, all I heard is that she'll be releasing some kind of new material. Web form or not, it's something. |
Welcome to Pottermore Pottermore is open to all in October. In a short while, you will be able to leave your email address, so we can notify you when registration has opened. Due to overwhelming demand we cannot take your email address right now. Please be patient. REALLY? 1) JK Rowling should have EXPECTED an overwhelming demand in the planning of this, especially based on what she said at the beginning of the video about her loyal readers and still recieving hundreds of letters every day. 2) If you can't even submit an email address now, I am already anticipating many glitches and setbacks in the actual execution of this project. |
