Anyone else getting ready for Tucson? Are there any other AOII GCers going to Convention besides myself, Morag, OleMissGlitter, AOII Angel (you are going, right?) and JackieRose?

I'm definitely going! My bio sister is going as the Baton Rouge delegate, too. I am so excited. It's her first time. AzTheta and AZ Alpha Xi are going to come for Candlelighting to visit.

Oooh, let me know so I can stop by and meet them, even if it's a drive-by meetup!

Crashing to say that AZ-Alpha Xi and I are so excited to come to your convention Candlelighting ceremony (woohoo) and we will be sporting our very best badges (and might even bring some others for show and tell, if you'd like). We're so happy that you are all coming to Tucson. Be forewarned: it's dry as a bone (think single digit humidity) and HOT. Pack some eye drops and lip protectant. And bring your swim suit - Starr Pass has a lazy river! Not to be missed.

I'll be going!! :) I'm a little bit nervous, as I'm required to attend everything (not that I wouldn't anyway..) as well as participate in the Candle Lighting Ceremony and other things. This is the first Convention I've been to and I feel like I'll forget to bring something haha.

I just received an invitation to attend your Panhellenic luncheon on the 25th. I'll looking forward to it. Hope you'all have a wonderful convention and a great time in Tucson.

We'll have to have a GC meet up, Guitar! You'll be fine. The events are not hard to get to. They won't chop of your head if you miss something. ;) I missed closing ritual last time because I had a migraine. I didn't want to miss it because it's my favorite thing, but it couldn't be helped. Nothing happened. That being said, just don't go skipping stuff for the hell of it!

This is AWESOME, btw. Too bad you have to sit with the other NPC delegates. :(

I'm unsure of how much "Free Time" I'll actually have, but if you can find me I'm all for it! Just listen for a Canadian accent :P

Ha...yeah, they will. That's what I'm saying. I missed a mandatory event and still had my trip paid for. Don't make yourself sick worrying about it! There's more free time than you think. The business meetings can get a little heated, but that makes them fun. I'll be the Phoenix delegate. What's your chapter name?

Oh, please do bring some others for show and tell. How late do you and AZ-Alpha Xi plan to stay around afterwards? I have to be in meetings after the Candlelighting, but will move heaven and earth to come meet you both somehow!!!

We will bring a few treasures to show (AOII Angel will be wearing the ruby badge, I hope! I think I know which one AZ-Alpha Xi will be wearing, they both know which badge I'll have on), and maybe we should get there earlier rather than later so we can visit before you go off to do Convention business. I don't mind hanging out...

We should be easy to find, we will be the ones who are wearing the kite and the quill. We are both so excited to be coming and hope to meet whoever is there from GC. StarrPass is lovely, it'll be great fun!

Its my birthday and I'm taking the afternoon off so we can come on out whenever you'd like. I'm really looking forward to see you and the ceremony.

I didn't know it was your birthday! Awesome! Dinner is over at 7:15p, but CL doesn't start until 8:30. Of course we'll want good seats. I guess I'll meet you guys in the lobby after dinner and we'll head to the venue for CL.

I should be easy to find, I'll be in my awesome Hot Pink AOII Foundation polo shirt by then, as I have to hit the Foundation reception later that night. That's always a Convention highlight for me! Will send you all a PM in a bit too :)

I bet I'll get a Foundation reception invite. I went last time. They invited me to sit at a special table for the Foundation dinner on Thursday. That should be nice, though, I feel bad leaving my sister to fend for herself. Oh well, she'll be surrounded by sisters!

I second AzTheta's message, welcome to Tucson! I hope that everyone has a safe trip.

I'm so excited! My sister is on the plane flying in the Phoenix. I pick her up at 4p. It's not like I didn't just see her on Sunday, but it's her first time visiting me here.

AZ-Alpha Xi and I went to Starr Pass last night for Candle Lighting. We got to meet OleMissGlitter ("OMG") and AOIIAlum and AOII Angel's sister. And other AOIIs too. And we got to do a little badge/jewelry show and tell.

The ceremony was incredibly moving and lovely and inspiring. There is a projection of the letters AOII and a rose (I think) on one of the mountainsides to the south of StarrPass - it is so beautiful at night. Very impressive.

And they are all commenting on how hot and dry it is. Told you. Drink water, eye drops, lip balm, and oil your skin. But - it's a dry heat!

Hope the rest of the convention goes well. Thank you for including us in this ceremony, it was a special night.

i'm so jealous that you got to meet some of my sisters, i wish i had been able to go to convention (stupid summer classes). i'm glad you had a good time at the candle lighting!

oh and i agree with you about dry heat. it beats humidity any day :D

It was a rose on the mountain. Too bad my picture didn't come out very well. :(. It was pretty cool! Gotta go...things to do; people to meet.
