Crack Shack or Mansion? - A Game
Real Estate in Vancouver is getting to be ridonkulous...
and now there is a game to go along with it. Behold "Crack Shack or Mansion?" http://www.crackshackormansion.com/ and also "Crack Shack or Mansion II": http://www.crackshackormansion.com/part2.html Give it a whirl and report back with your score! |
I take it Canadians haven't been paying attention to the U.S. housing bubble?
|
LOL at the one that says, "The low price is due to the lack of stainless steel appliances." I always laugh at that when I'm watching House Hunters on HGTV and it's something that is a "dealbreaker" for the home buyer.

12/16 too funny

I am so confused.... 1 Canadian Dollar must = about 10 US Dollars now, because the cost of some of those houses can't be right!!!

Most of those houses were just dreadful. No front door? Property Virgins exposed me to real estate costs for Toronto so that part wasn't as shocking. |

Right? I live in one of the most expensive markets in the US and there is absolutely no f-ing way that places like that would go for that. It just doesn't seem real... are there links to actual real estate listings anywhere?

Here's a real estate website, as someone asked to see one. Play away, my friends.... http://www.realtor.ca/index.aspx?cul=1 If you google stories about Vancouver real estate prices, you should find plenty of fodder to read. But back to the game...how are all of your scores on "Crack Shack or Mansion"?? |
Oddly this reminds me of M.A.S.H...

15/16. I used to alternate summers between the Island and T.O., so remembering houseprices on the Island, these prices make sense.

As a person who bought a fixer upper at a low price, I guarantee when I move that stuff will already be there. Yes you save $$$ in the long run, but if you are the type that values your time just as much as your money, it isn't worth it. Especially with an old house, its never "just" replacing an appliance. **Glaring at my 50+ year old pipes*** |

When I moved into my new apartment a couple years ago, I put together all of my furniture while he hung pictures. And he could ALWAYS sniff out a deal. It was kind of amazing, actually, how sometimes he'd manage to get discounts on things that weren't even on sale. Personally, I think it's crazy to pass on a house because of one small thing that could easily be changed, but to each their own. |
