Crossing the Color Line

In this new day and age I see many non-blacks join many black organizations like fraternities and normal student organizations. What do you guys think of it, and what examples you see. I know a friend in phi beta sigma.

QFP.

I fail to connect the dots you're putting on the paper. And your sentences don't make sense. Perhaps you'd care to elucidate?

Kaorin_Kanoe 05-17-2011 12:25 AM

Well, you don't have to be black to join one. We have one white guy on our campus in Iota Phi Theta. He's known around campus as "The White Iota" lol. Congrats to him, he just made as the Greek Council Judicial Chair.

DrPhil 05-17-2011 12:37 AM

Fun thread. I'll bite.

Correct. In general, you "have" to have an interest in a service organization that is rooted in enriching the lives of others with primary interest in people of the African Diaspora. In the relatively rare occasion where we find nonBlacks (those who aren't considered of the African Diaspora) who are genuinely interested in that, those individuals are more than welcome to apply.

Oh yay. "One white guy" is known as "The White Iota." And you find that funny. Race matters and race and ethnicity should never be ignored but being called "The White Iota" means a great deal.

I mean, you're acting as though I'm the only one who says it...in fact, he gave himself the name sooo...and I wasn't using the fact that he's white to congratulate him on his achievement. I was congratulating him because NPHC get little to no recognition at our school. In fact, they hate when all people think that all they do is step shows. I go to a school where interest in NPHC is very low, even though we have 6/9. He should be very proud of himself. So what are you tryin' to say?

victoriana 05-17-2011 03:37 AM

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be an air traffic controller. Although the comparison just made me giggle. I guess I was just trying to save her from a train wreck. Should've known better :o

The same way they prevent plane crashes: they sleep through them.

naraht 05-17-2011 06:47 AM

Abnormalities

Like creatures made up of 21 heads, 42 arms and 42 legs, you'd think that would be 21 separate people, but somehow when moving, it appears to be one entity. Creature also moves rhythmically and wonderfully to music.
:D

You seem to be obsessed with Greek recognition at your school. Just so you're clear on the reality, NPHC organizations are distinguished with or without your school's approval, and people will clamber to join them despite the limitations of their appeal on one campus.
