Lilly Pulitzer Sorority Prints expanding!

Hi ladies, for all those of us that have been holding our breath and crossing our fingers that Lilly adds our organization in addition to KD, DZ, DDD, and KKG now is our chance! There is a link on their fb page where you can vote to have them add your org to the line, so good luck ladies!

Ditto. I had never heard of Lilly Pulitzer before I came to GC.

KSUViolet06 04-12-2011 06:30 PM

Meh. I've only lived in the north and west coast and I still like Lilly.

Tulip86 04-12-2011 06:51 PM

Absolutely love Lilly.. just no stores here and international shipping can get very expensive. Great excuses for a trip back to the US ;)

33girl 04-12-2011 07:05 PM

Dear Lily:

Please don't use sigmas as the letter E.

xoxoxoxo,
Sorority women who actually know what all the Greek letters mean

As far as hearing of Lily, I heard of it on a MB I post on who if you had to call it as pro or anti-Greek would be more in the anti camp.

Drolefille 04-12-2011 09:10 PM

Heard of it, don't get it, though I figure the people who do use the fact that I don't as proof that they're right.

Dear Lilly,

I'd totally order the Tri Delta print. I like the scarf, but the style of the bags, etc, not so much. I'd reconsider greatly if there was less green and more blue.

I'd rather spend my money elsewhere, but I do think they'd make a lovely Sigma Kappa print.

So I voted.

And OK, if they made it, I might get a cosmetic bag.

My grandmother had bought and sent me pieces from Florida and it did work well in California. I've always liked it, my pieces are just the bermuda bag and covers mostly, though I have some sundresses and skirts I bought on super clearance at the giant downtown Macy's in San Francisco.

Purses are easier though as it is a small amount of Lilly, sometimes the dresses are a bit much with all that print though a skirt is nice with a solid top.

AOIIBuckeye 04-13-2011 01:21 AM

I love the pencil cases, the planners, and some of the accessories. I have to agree that the dresses are a bit too much print for me to pull off. I still would die over an AOII print though!

SWTXBelle 04-13-2011 02:39 PM

Brown and pink ARE very hot right now . . .

victoriana 04-13-2011 09:27 PM

I really want to buy something with the Delta Zeta print on it, just because I love the way it looks. I'm worry though, because the print has little letters worked in to the design. Is it appropriate or not appropriate to buy, since I'm not a DZ?

If it has the letters in it I would not buy it.

ElieM 04-13-2011 09:38 PM

It's like Sorority Ken Done

lovespink88 04-13-2011 09:53 PM

Ditto about not being a Lilly dress fan, but digging the accessories!

Not appropriate. If it were just symbols I would say that would probably be okay, but since there are letters on the fabric, I don't think you should get it. How would you feel if there was a Lilly AST print that had letters on it and a non-AST was wearing them?

Not.

Bump because the winners were announced today:

https://www.facebook.com/lillypulitz...04360&comments

ADPi, Chi-O, Theta, DG and Alpha Phi will be getting new Lilly prints! Congrats to all! Per the video announcement, over 315,000 votes were cast! She also alluded to the fact that more prints would be coming in the future, but they didn't want to over promise to too many groups at one time.

glittergal1985 05-04-2011 04:32 PM

As I posted in another thread, I'm happy for the groups chosen, although at the same time more than a little heartbroken (for obvious reasons lol) Hopefully they'll come out with a new batch soon :)

HannahXO 05-04-2011 04:51 PM

when will the prints come out? i'm the the library studying (or something like that lol) for finals and can't watch the video w/ dound

The video didn't say. She just said to make sure you were signed up for email updates. I hope it's soon!

ree-Xi 05-05-2011 12:25 PM

I first saw Lilly in a boutique on Nantucket years ago, and was hooked ever since. Of course, I don't lead the kind of lifestyle the typical Lilly customer does, living in $400 sundresses. But as a New Englander, I can appreciate the preppy style!

Ok, that's twice in a day I mentioned Nantucket. I don't mean for any of that to come out as pretentious as it did!! I just love the Cape and the islands!!

OHNOITSJESS 05-05-2011 07:04 PM

I wish they'd consider doing an A.O.E. print :(

KSUViolet06 05-05-2011 10:48 PM

I went over and checked out the video where they made the announcement.

I tweeted about this earlier, but some of the comments under that vid (from women whose groups didn't make the cut) are RIDIC.

Yes, a couple of you guys fake-pouted over not getting one, but some people sound legitimately upset:

"i demand a recount, as you stated you do have a hard time counting therefore it is hard for me to believe that the sororities that you claim won actually did win..my sisters are immensely disappointed with the turnout & i refuse to sit back... & watch this conspiracy unfold...also some of the sororities had an unfair advantage because your staff members are a part of their chapter. recount...if the turnout is the same then so be it."

"Thats okay. {sorority removed} doesn't need to wear Lilly to be any more classier than we already are. It isn't the clothes that make the woman. Lilly is so new money."

"How did {sorority removed} beat out {Sorority That Got a Print}? That sounds like this competition was rigged, and I will have a hard time supporting Lilly Pulitzer from now on."

"Diisgusted that Lilly would take bribes from an HQ in this competition (as you obviously have because {Sorority That Got A Print} could never have gotten enough votes on its own.) Never spending a dime of my money on your products again."

Haha omg, some people are insane. Talk about representing your org in a bad light and taking something way too seriously.

IrishLake 05-05-2011 11:12 PM

Vi, you missed the post from one chick -

"WTF? Our colors are _______ and ______, stupid. Don't mess it up."

Insane. She ended up removing it, either out of shame, guilt, or her sisters telling her to.

(I posted quite a bit on that FB link :D )

They don't have to do the print in the colors. At least for ours, it is green & white but with a lot of pink included, which isn't one of our colors. Gosh! People are so picky! I do want to see what Theta's will look like, I can't imagine Black and Gold in Lilly-anything, but I'm sure it will be gorgeous

sherrybaby 05-05-2011 11:22 PM

i was embarrassed for some of the women, they obviously decided to post their immediate, sorely disappointed response instead of stepping away from the keyboard and reconsidering how they were representing their orgs.

one girl said something like, "Wtf, bribes (referring to a joke made in the video)? (sorority) ladies are obviously way too classy for this competition," while another said something to the effect of "There goes my Lilly loyalty for life."

Really? Did you say the same thing when the last four prints were actually chosen arbitrarily instead of by a fair vote? smh

AZTheta 05-05-2011 11:23 PM

I saw IrishLake's comments on the Lilly thread and was just tickled. At least we can agree on something, when she's not giving me a beating on Zuma Blitz.

Personally, I wonder just exactly what Lilly can do with black and gold. I'm hoping for a black on black shift of some sort that women of any age can wear. Pansies, not so much. Kites? *shrug* I'll just be interested to see what the design team creates. I wouldn't mind a purse or tote bag or something of the sort.

Some of the disgruntled comments were ludicrous. For the love of Mike, it's a clothing line. It's not brain surgery or a Rhodes Scholarship.

Kappa Alpha Theta restricts the use of our greek letters to a very limited number of applications/contexts. So, I was surprised to read above ^^^ that Delta Zeta letters were incorporated into a print. Then again, each GLO has its own policies.

They probably won't make a dress- all the sorority prints so far have been confined to totes, purses, make up bags/pencil cases and Murfee scarves. I think it would be awesome for them to expand the line to agendas/notebooks, but IMO if they were going to do a garment, it should probably just be the sorority's colors and not the print.

I'd LOVE to see letter shirts in the print.

I've ordered a letter shirt from a site where you can get fabric letters that are Lilly print. On a Lilly note- I would also love to see jewelry- a charm necklace or bangles. For SK, I could see it being like those owl necklaces that were popular, but with a dove, etc.

IrishLake 05-05-2011 11:42 PM

AzTheta, if you look at all of the Lilly sorority prints, they all have letters on them (Tri-Delta, KD, DZ and Kappa). A friend of mine has a Kappa tote, and it's stinkin adorble.
I don't know if the next sorority prints will just be accessories, like what's available now. I'll get myself a tote, and my sister something smaller in the DG print.

http://www.lillypulitzer.com/accesso...dgift,sorority

(Zuma is my addiction!!!! I didn't think I'd beat you this time. lol, I'm still not even in my top 5. I blame it on having a laptop!)

Ahh yes I have a letter shirt with lilly, but I want one that has my letters in my sorority's lilly print :)

IrishLake 05-05-2011 11:50 PM

Buy the Murfree scarf and make letters from that fabric.

Sidenote: I was browsing at the Goodwill in a nearby town the other day.... SCORE a Lilly girls dress in my daughters size for $7!!!!!!!!! Perfect condition, and its yellow, so it looks perfect with her tan skin tone and blonde hair. She loves it!

119 dollars...too expensive haha!

IrishLake 05-05-2011 11:57 PM

That would make a lot of letters though. Have a bunch of sisters chip in!

Er.... or something.
