Most expensive gift you bought yourself.

Other then homes, cars, motorcycles, education. What is the most expensive gift you bought yourself and why?

For my 35th birthday, I bought myself 2 $500 gold bracelets, and went to Vegas on the spur of the moment. Why, it was my 35th birthday. Funny thing is, I never wear the bracelets, lol.

My computers, so far I've spent about... $6,000 on four computers in the last six years.

I think the most expensive gift I've bought myself is a silver fox jacket. I rarely wear it, and since it's almost 70 degrees outside, I may not get to wear it anytime soon. I have been a good girl, and I'd really like for Santa to give me a full length ranch or mahogany mink. :)

Sue_XO 11-15-2001 02:42 PM

My Burberry purse... I should of just gone to NYC & bought a knock-off from a street vendor- they all look alike!

straightBOS 11-15-2001 03:21 PM

my computer...

..or my "boookie" as I call it. My man's jealous as hell...

From the new printer, scanner, zip drive, speakers, external hard drive, memory, digital camera, etc. I can't even begin to calculate it, and I don't think I would want to.

It could easily be mistaken for some sort of space shuttle command center.

A $300 Coach bag that I rarely carry! But when I bought it, I just had to have it.

Her Dopenezzz 11-15-2001 04:42 PM

A $500 sherling. I love that coat!

kiml122 11-16-2001 08:31 AM

I bought myself a $350 gold link bracelet a few years back. I still luv that bracelet too.:D

Kimmie1913 11-16-2001 10:43 AM

a Gucci purse that I absolutely love. I carry it often. I figure if I am going to spend it I am going to use it.

Shelacious 11-17-2001 03:29 PM

Well it's hard to say... I count the front loading washer/dryer I bought as the most expensive gift to myself--and well worth the expense! :D

Either the cruise to the Bahamas I took earlier this year or my gold bar and dove Zeta Phi Beta bracelet and Zeta Phi Beta diamond and sapphire pendant. :)

SoTrue1920 11-17-2001 03:34 PM

Diamond and sapphire pendant?! Where'd you get this (or did you have it made especially for you)? I bet it's gorgeous....

PKTSU01 11-17-2001 03:37 PM

Roland V-Drums and a home studio setup. Took out a loan for it .But I think of it as more of an investment really, because I want to do production and stuff at some point. Kinda makes sense if you read stuff I post, its usually all about music. What can i say, its my drug.

A Coach handbag, and a new computer. I am in college, and I didn't really need the Coach, but I love expensive, well made purses, and I said, "Why not?" The computer was a necessity-my old one was acting all screwy and I needed one that could keep up with what I needed to do...

Hey SoTrue,

I didn't have it made especially for me! :). At Boule 2000 there was a company that sells gold Greek jewlery. They make this plain disc-shaped gold Zeta pendant with the dove (my mother has one of this type). They also make some of the pendants with diamonds placed around the dove. I got the only one that had the diamonds, but also has a blue sapphire at each wing tip. I debated spending the $$ on it, but since Sorors LOVE it, I guess I made the right call. The company is based out of Los Angeles (I'll try and remember the name of the company).

The most expensive thing I've ever bought for myself was my high school ring. I graduated in '94, but my father and I had our differences and, since I've inherited his stubbornness, I HAD to have that ring. My thing was that I have six other fingers that I could choose from to put a college ring on (not including my left forefinger; I wanna keep that one clear :D  ) so what was the point in him trying to tell me that I can't get the dang ring? Five years later, I bought it for $420, including tax and the price for the diamonds. When he saw it, he said it was pretty. The fact of the matter was that I was gonna get it anyway, so why should he have hated on my decision??? ;)

My Diamond Techno Marine watch. I love it. Love it. Love it. Ridiculously expensive for a glorified swatch watch, but I LOVE it.
2nd most expensive, my Prada Backpack.

TheEpitome1920 05-10-2005 01:44 PM

*bump*

DC_Zeta1920 05-10-2005 04:20 PM

LOL @ soror epitome bumping up old topics

but to answer the question the most expensive gift was my computer

Little32 05-11-2005 10:30 AM

If we are strictly talking gifts, sort of frivilous and not necessary, I would say this diamond ring I bought. I actually go a really go deal for it, and I wear it all the time.

reddawn18 05-16-2005 10:46 PM

Most expensive, my car (still paying for the 2002 Dodge Intrepid)

Next would be my bedroom set, $950

Then my laptop, $823

LionOfJudah 05-16-2005 10:54 PM

Watch

Just bought myself a Movado watch. $1750. I have never been so attached to a peice of jewelry before. Men don't get to wear a lot of expensive jewelry that is really tasteful, so I am excited and happy.
