Oral Cancer Reportedly Linked to Oral Sex
|
Aw shit. :(
|
*muerte*

Which is why everyone (girls AND BOYS) who is able to, should get the HPV vaccine.
But not surprising, honestly. |

My dad had throat cancer that we believe was caused by HPV. He's never smoked and hardly drinks, to be sure we were surprised that he, of all people, had cancer.
It really sucked, and several years later he still has trouble eating, tasting and moving his jaw. Anyone who opposes the HPV vaccine because they think it will encourage promiscuity can go fuck themselves with a rusty rake. The sooner it can get approved for men the better. |
^^^It is approved for men and women ages 9 to 26.

I'm surprised that no one mentioned this as yet, but PrettyBoy started a similar thread a few years back ...

The thread that sticks out in my mind, though, basically debunked this report. I can't find it right now, and a search for "oral sex" on my work computer would probably not be the best idea lol |

My guy & I talked about this last night, on a "If we had a 10 year old daughter would you be for or against getting the vaccine?" I liked his answer, and he liked mine. Your kid can be the purest child to walk the face of the earth, but what if some diseased nutjob raped her?
There's a vaccine available, it's incredibly irresponsible not to use it! |

Also, people that aren't "pure as the driven snow" don't deserve HPV with a side of throat or cervical cancer. |

I would say that NOBODY deserves HPV or any STDs. Using the example of rape, however, gets to the people who are incapable of beliveng that their daughter or son will get horizontal with anything humonoid.

Whether or not your insurance will cover it is a whole separate issue. FDA approval only means that clinical trials have proven the safety and utility of the vaccine for use in those populations.

^^^I'm not surprised. I got it when it first came out, and not many insurance companies were covering it for females at that point. They will in time, no doubt. It's just unfortunate because at $130/shot x 3 shots it is not cheap.
