The K-Cup Addicts thread

Because of all of the discussion in the "What do you feel like saying" thread over the past few weeks of K-cups & the Keurig I decided a thread would be nice so we can discuss flavors we've tried, what we like and what we don't, and our excitement over ordering new k-cups!!!

Today I had Timothy's Italian Blend & am very excited about my free samples of the new Barista Prima brand AND the holiday k-cups boyfriend's mom gave me the other day! Yay!!!

My favorite k-cup is: Donut Shop!!!

Also really like the Celestial Seasonings English Breakfast tea :)

Beryana 01-07-2011 04:11 PM

I actually bought the "My K-cup" and use my whole bean coffee - currently Philz Tesora blend. Of the pre-packaged, I like the Caribou Coffee Morning blend best.

I'm VERY leery to try the teas as a k-cup - too much time spent in Ireland/England and enjoying the ritual of taking tea as much as a good cuppa.

I had hot chocolate this morning. I love the hot chocolate! I also love the hot apple cider.

Today in the mail I got French Vanilla and Caramel Vanilla Cream or something. Also more hot chocolate and the peppermint tea.

I love the flavored coffees and have been trying a bunch of my parents. So far from theirs candy cane is my fave.

too expensive so we don't have one. Neither wife and I drink coffee anyway. The whole concept seems pretty interesting though.

seniczip! I'm so jealous you were able to get the hot apple cider and peppermint tea. They were sold out when I looked!!! I'm glad the apple cider is good though it gives me something to look forward to!

I'm drinking the hot cocoa now with added raspberry syrup. Yum.

sceniczip 01-07-2011 05:46 PM

Apple cider was sold out when I ordered mine online but my parents found it at bed, bath, and beyond! The tea was in stock though so it was one of my buy 2 get 2 free coupon :) I did sign up to get alerts when a couple were back in stock and I got one about the apple cider so it should be in stock now :D

dammit and I thought this was a Big and Bountiful Bra thread...sheesh

DiamondAthena 01-07-2011 10:21 PM

^^^^Lmao, to tell you the truth I did too! But I want a Keurig so badly but am such an occasional drinker idk if I will splurge on it or not. They were doing free samples and demonstrations at Bed Bath & Beyond and I fell in love!

So did I but I wasn't nearly as enthralled as you apparently were. ;)

nittanygirl 01-08-2011 12:17 AM

Lol you know us GCers and our love of extra large bras!!! ;)

Def might check out the cider thing at Bed Bath & Beyond once I get back to State College. I am pretty stocked up on kcups though at the moment and probably don't need anymore.

As for occasional drinkers, I don't really think a Keurig would be something I'd purchase if I rarely drank coffee (then again, I still received one as a gift). The tea does taste excellent (tastes like it was steeped perfectly) and there are cocoas, ciders, etc, but I really feel like it is more of a coffee invention and you can have tea from heating up a cup in the microwave anyways for 2 min.

DH has a Keurig in his office, and I do consulting work for his company, so I'm in the office maybe once a month. Recommendations??

We own a Senseo so I'd love to get recommendations for Senseo pods too.

If you like a plain coffee, I really do thing the Donut Shop or Donut House are the best ones.
If you like a flavored coffee, Emeril's Vanilla Bean is pretty tasty.
For non-coffee drinks, I do like the hot cocoa, and Celestial Seasonings teas. :D

As for today, I tried Caribou Daybreak from my sample pack and it's okay. Kind of weak for my tastes, but a nice simple coffee. Would be better with added flavor syrups.

nittanygirl 02-02-2011 10:07 PM

I had Barista Prima Colombia today and it was terrible. I don't know why but it just did not have a good flavor to me at all. Like pencil lead.
Yuck.

IndianaSigKap 02-02-2011 10:13 PM

Love all the Celestial Seasonings teas!

ADPiTigergurl 02-02-2011 11:19 PM

I absolutely love my Keurig!!! She has a name it is Zoe, and my roomate and I consider her the 3rd roomate lol.

But I agree with everyone Donut Shop for the plain coffee, emerill's french vanilla for a flavor, and the other day i had golden french toast (or something like that) from a friend and it was wonderful!!! Oh and english black tea, i don't really care for it, but add some honey and it was the only thing that got my voice through recruitment week ;)

NutBrnHair 02-28-2011 01:52 PM

The apple cider from Green Mountain is wonderful.

DiamondAthena 03-28-2011 02:36 PM

I finally got one! The Keurig Mini's were on clearance at Wal-Mart for $45.00!!! So we got the 10 samples inside and tried the Big Easy Bold by Emirill Lagasse (sp) and my husband bought a box of light roast to add his flavoring to. I plan to take advantage of the two free boxes after I register online and get some tea, cider and hot chocolate.
Yay, for being patient and finding awesome sales :D

PeppyGPhiB 03-28-2011 08:48 PM

Nespresso is better!

Kevin 03-29-2011 02:21 PM

Got one, got the fill-it-yourself thingy. I grind my own whole bean coffee (various sorts) down to a fine powder. The thing works fine.

nittanygirl 05-10-2011 10:18 AM

For those of you who are into flavored coffees, check out the Island Coconut for a nice summery flavor! Tried it yesterday bc my mom ordered a box. So yummy.

It's like eating a coconut macaroon and very tasty.
Just the right balance of coconut flavor!

IrishLake 05-10-2011 10:25 AM

We just got one of these for our "group" at work, and we love it. So far, I love the Chai Latte, but the Donut Shop and Donut House and the Carribu are the favorites. I also like the Hazelnut Cream. We also have a reusable filter to use regular grounds in, and the men in the office keep making a damn mess of it all.

DeltaBetaBaby 05-10-2011 10:39 AM

I just got my mother one for Mom's Day. She wanted the Elite, so she could control the temperature, and I got her a case of the Caribou medium blend (I forgot what it is actually called) with it, just because that was what they had at Sam's Club.

Mine too!
Those are the ones I buy.
If I have flavors, it's because my mom gave them to me/bought them

AOEforme 05-10-2011 04:22 PM

I love Donut Shop!

I am also in love with Wild Mountain Blueberry

nittanygirl 05-10-2011 04:51 PM

Mmm Blueberry sounds really good. I might have to try to get ahold of one of those. I really enjoy the blueberry coffee from DD every now and then

DeltaBetaBaby 05-10-2011 05:17 PM

Where do you guys buy them? I grabbed some at Sam's Club because it was close, but if anyone else knows where to get a deal, I'm sure I'll be buying my mom refills ad nauseum.

nittanygirl 05-10-2011 08:17 PM

Kohls, Target, Bon Ton, the kitchen store at the mall (don't remember the name).

Online a lot. My mom does a thing with the ladies at work where they order from Green Mountain and they each pick a box, and then they split the cost and the flavors equally. It works out really well with flavors you'd maybe want to try but are hesitant on...that way if you don't like it, you're not stuck with a whole box.

It seems like they're EVERYWHERE. You just have to keep your eyes peeled for when they go on sale (ESP at Kohls and ESP if you earn Kohls cash because you could basically get free k-cups!)

nittanygirl 11-07-2011 09:59 PM

Hey everyone! I need help with a survey for a class. If you could please fill it out, I'd really appreciate it!

thetalady 11-08-2011 12:01 AM

I filled out the survey, but I am confused... around here (DFW) they carry DD K Cups at Costco. I prefer other brands of K Cups, so I don't really look for them at other stores.
