Interested in an AI

I am currently interested in an AI by me since I went to a college without Greek Life. I have always been interested in Greek Life, but the college I attended that I had my true fit, didn't have it. Anyway, I have always been interested in sisterhood and community service. I found a sorority that shares the same ideals as myself with a philanthropy I already support..but I was wondering...how many women actually join an AI without being apart of its colleigate chapter?

KSUViolet06 12-14-2010 01:19 AM

Are you asking how many women get the chance to join via AI?

SouthernTKE 12-14-2010 01:44 AM

What sorority do you want to join? AI varies greatly between NPC, NPHC, and other umbrella organizations, and can vary to an even greater degree between the individual organizations within them.

It seems to me that you're confused as to what AI is.. You say you're "interested in an AI" and you ask how many women join an AI. AI is not an alumnae chapter of some kind, which seems to be what you think it is..

But maybe I'm wrong?..

It varies from sorority to sorority.

DubaiSis 12-14-2010 03:01 AM

no women join anything without being apart of it.

Was this supposed to be written in English?

Jane Austen would be so disappointed.

kddani 12-14-2010 06:57 AM

Really, when you think about it, when's the last time we had an AI thread? Guess it was about time.

AlphaFrog 12-14-2010 09:37 AM

At least she specifies that she's "currently interested"...that way, we know that we don't actually need to answer any of her questions. Since, by the time she would make any headway, she'll be interested in something else instead.

Alumnae initiation

I really need some help in this field!! This process is not easy! I regret not getting initiated 25 years ago, which was my fault, did not make my grades. Now that I am older and have the potential opportunity to become initiated into the sorority that I had originally pledged in college, they are turning their back on me. Not very "sisterly" in my opinion. I lost touch with everyone for 25 years and have missed them terribly. Should I continue to become a member or seek another?

Yet in another thread...

Should I even comment on the username?

Naw, I'll let it go...

Maybe they're turning their backs on you because 25 years later you're running around perping their letters with things like your user name?

I wonder if she's the famous MS State ADPi perp? http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...highlight=perp

IrishLake 03-03-2011 11:24 PM

Why do you call yourself an alum if you never initiated?
Why did you say you had alums at your initiation 25 years ago if you weren't initiated?
If you're an "alum" then you have no need to do AI.

Silliness. Watch out lady, the ADPis here will have a field day with you.

knight_shadow 03-03-2011 11:27 PM

Why would you expect women who are not your sisters to be "sisterly" with you?

ASTalumna06 03-03-2011 11:27 PM

Wow...

Ok, so she's pretending to be a member of a sorority she's not a part of, she wants to help with a ceremony she knows nothing about, she probably wants to help with said ceremony so she can see something secret and sacred that she has no right to see, and she's confused as to why girls who aren't her sisters are pushing her away...

Popcorn, please!

IrishLake 03-03-2011 11:29 PM

We were due for one of these. I'll have some popcorn as well.

Um..... yeah. :D

No initiation of your own 25 years ago = no alum status = no helping at an initiation now.

If you truly are what you say, then 1) you need to get your story straight, and 2) Why don't you get on Pride Online and fill out a "will serve" form to let the Alumnae Directors know about your willingness to get involved with the chapter near you. Also 3) come introduce yourself in the ADPi form, so that we can all get to know you.

If you were not initiated, then see above and you have no right to use adpialum as your username.

AZTheta 03-03-2011 11:42 PM

Any room left on the sofa? If not, I'll take the easy chair, please.

The MS State perp pretended to be a Chi O. The ADPi perp was at a university in Alabama and all this does sound like something she could've written!

I still want to throw up when I see her FB profile picture because she's friends with a friend of mine.

Is her name Jacki by chance?

AZTheta 03-03-2011 11:45 PM

@carnation, did you know that you can completely block people on FB? There are privacy settings in the My Account section. So, you could block this "perpson" and not ever see her photo or any of her posts or anything. It's useful for those icky-creepy types of situations.

Yep.

AzTheta, I'm going to look for that privacy feature now. Seems like every time I go to my friend's page, ol' perpster's photo shows up.

FSUZeta 03-03-2011 11:52 PM

could a sorority chapter take a restraining order out on someone?

has any adpi notified your headquarters about this perp?

For the sake of all chapters of all sororities, I think it's time to out this one here. For real.

IrishLake 03-04-2011 12:05 AM

i agree.

Barbie's_Rush 03-04-2011 12:34 AM

OMG her Facebook page is the saddest and scariest thing I think I've seen since Universal Ultimate KD Perp Butterface Supreme's.

KSUViolet06 03-04-2011 01:07 AM

Whoa. You agree to overnight babysit for someone, have a hell of a time getting kids to bed, and you miss all the fun.

True story, I've heard of this particular perp (both here and in real life from actual ADPis) and I live all the way in OHIO.

But you can always count on craziness when you come back!

KSUViolet06 03-04-2011 01:14 AM

This particular perp has been discussed in other threads and as far as I know, ADPi HQ is VERY aware of her (unless there is another Alabama ADPi perp named Jacki out there.)

tld221 03-04-2011 01:37 AM

OMG the hilarity ALWAYS ensues.

33girl 03-04-2011 12:57 PM

I can't believe this freakazoid took this long to get to GC. Usually it's the other way around and we're the freakazoid clearing house before they go on to CC/Facebook/real life stalking.

SAME!

KSUViolet06 03-04-2011 09:23 PM

I've never seen her FB page, but I have def heard of her.

IrishLake 03-04-2011 09:36 PM

You can't see much on her page, other than a few things that make it known that she thinks she's an ADPi.

She's attending the FB event International Badge Day on Monday (as am I). Kinda makes one ill knowing she'll wear a badge she prolly bought on E#ay.
