I couldn't find a thread on this, but if there is already one... here's one for newer people!

When is your Greek Anniversary??

Some of you will know exact dates, some will have a rough guess, some will just have a month, and some of you may only be able to count the years.

I was pinned on September 13, 2008.
I earned my letters and my Big Bro on October 30, 2008.
I became a fully initiated member on May 30, 2009.

The whole time I have been proudly saying, "It's Great to be a SigEp!" :D

Luckily I have all of this information written down in my Cornerstone.

I was associated with the George Mason Colony of The Delta Chi Fraternity on September 21, 2008.
I was initiated into the Bond of Delta Chi on November 22, 2008.

I wore our letters for the first time (initiation) on October 25, 1998. Wow! Twelve years later and I still remember it all!

I received my bid on September 14, 2010
Arc Degree: October 3, 2010 (after formal recruitment when we got the rest of our new member class!)
Initiation: November 12, 2010 (was going to be Nov. 7th but got moved because of a Panhellenic event on the 7th)

My chapter was installed and I was initiated on April 29, 2007.

I didn't remember the exact date of my new member pledging, but I found it under my log-in info on the Kappa website! Haha it was February 3, 2007. We had a longer NM period because our chapter was installed at a Province Meeting.

March 20, 1999 - APO
March 15, 2003 - Alpha Phi Alpha

August 27, 2005.

I really wanted to do something fun for 5, but was entirely too busy.

I'm not sure what day I received my new member pin (though I could probably find out if I looked hard enough), but I was initiated on October 10, 2008. No other organization in my life has made as significant or long-lasting impact on my life than that of Alpha Chi Omega.

I became a colony member on 1/15/2004. Initiated with chapter installation on 4/3/2004.

May I just say March 15? :D

I can't remember the date, but I know it was sometime in early May of 07.

I dont remember the date I got my big sis other than we had big/lil, initiation, and Homecoming all in the same week and everyone was running around like a chicken with their heads cut off trying to get everything done!

Is Life Loyal like a re-commitment thing for alumnae? I understand if you can't say. Just wondering, because I know I've heard that term before.

No. It is a program/status that gives special perks to alumnae. You have to pay a fee to be Life Loyal and only alumnae are eligible. There are other sororities & fraternities with Life Loyal programs.

my SIGMAversary just passed. November 6. 5 years of awesomeness.

Got my bid and pledged in on September 28, 2008. I had a long pledge period as we were a colony...and a BIG one. I was initiated on March 14, 2009.

Today is my anniversary! 7 years!

October 25 is my date too! just in 2002, not 1998 :)

Pledging happend around September 9-16. I can't remember but I will find out when exactly it happened.
I went through the 1st and 2nd degrees of initiation on November 8th and 9th in 2007.

Oh other fun fact. My first chapter meeting was the 100th meeting of the Epsilon Alpha Chapter of Delta Delta Delta :)

Can't say about Theta, but a number of GLOs use the "Life Loyal" designation to mean what once would have been called Life or Sustaining Alumni/ae membership. In other words, rather than paying yearly alum dues you pay a larger amount up front. Typically, the Life Loyal payments go into an endowment of some kind.

Oh dear....I do remember my initiation date - October 9, 1964....46 years ago!

Lucy I had no idea our pledge dates were in there- thanks for the tip! Although what's listed for mine was bid day, I'm pretty sure we didn't pledge until 1/20. I think my class was part of the shortened pledging period pilot... 8 weeks just didn't work for my school (10 week trimesters) so we always got exceptions before that.

Yes. By becoming a Life Loyal member, I am exempt from paying yearly alumna per capita fees & receive the Theta magazine quarterly for the rest of my life (important because over the next few years they will be phasing in subscription fees for the magazine). There is also a discount program that goes with it as well, as a special pin and membership card.

Yeah, the dates aren't listed if you look up a member's info, but they're under your own stuff for the account section. Mine was pretty long, but we didn't think it was that bad at the time. It was awesome to have so many people there because of Pi Province Meeting.

Wow! That's great! Do you get a special pin for your 50th anniversary? I can't wait to get my 25 year pendant. :)

My 11-year anniversary (Greekiversary? PhiMuversary?) was last Thursday... November 18. I make it a point of wearing my badge every year on that date. :-D

I love the seasoned GLOers (including my Seasoned Sorors) on GC. :) It makes my heart melt.

Yes, I will get a 50 year pin. A gold rose. Founders Day 2014...looking forward to it. Have already put the alum group on notice about it!

And then no national dues!!!!!!!!!!!
