Unreleased Songs
 

Lately we have been talking about artists who have good songs that NEVER get released.

Ideal08 and I are sitting here talking :p about music and stuh.

Some of my picks off the top of my head that should have been released are:

A. Reasons by Faith
B. You Just Don't Understand by Faith
C. Don't Be Afraid by Faith
D. Don't Go by Mary J. Blige
E. The Never You Will Never KNow by Mint Condition
F. Oh Yes by Whitney Houston

I DEFINITELY feel you on the Whitney Houston song "Oh Yes". A few other good ones that don't get released (at least not in my neck of the woods):

*Jill Scott-He Loves Me (Lyzel in E Flat)
*Maxwell- Submerge:Til We Become the Sun (and MANY, MANY more of his songs-the songs on the radio are teasers)
*Carl Thomas-Special Lady, Lady Lay Your Body and Giving You All My Love
*Erykah Badu-YeYo

Actually, the Playa song was a single and a video, as was the D'Angelo song (actually, it might just have been a video, they made a live version and that was on BET, but clearly MTV was not playing a live performance of that song, since it wasn't performed on one of their programs).

I have to agree about Submerge. That was the CUT! Lyzel in E Flat, too. Good one.

Yeah, there was a video for Send it On. The song was played down here too.


awwwwww shucks, there are SOOOOOO many songs out there that should have been released. I can't even think of any.

I kind of like it when my favorite songs go unreleased. Then I can play it in my car and have everyone wondering "what's that? that sounds pretty good!" It's kind of like a little secret between me and the artist.

All of Xscape's UNRELEASED BALLADS especially from Traces of My Lipstick.

I am a ballad person through and through.
Patti LaBelle's CD called Flame had about 6 BALLADS that were blazing.

Karyn White's CD Make Him Do Right had about 5 songs that people slept on.

I really like broken hearted by Brandy, but not the one with Wanya that was released. The regular song on the first album.
I also think all the unreleased songs on Monica's first cd are the shiznit.

You could not TELL me this song wasn't going to be released. Couldn't tell me it wasn't.

I agree with Amel Larrieux. She got str8 slept on. And I'll just add, I'm ticked I lost my CD case to that CD. :mad:

What is the name of Craig David's first CD? I'm a new fan! :D But I've got to get the CD that Woman Trouble & You is on, so I will be on point on December 8th! :D

I have this CD, but I'm thinking that there has to be another one, because the songs that lovelyivy mentioned (Woman Trouble & You) are not on that CD.

Kelly Price's ballads are BLAZING and they always come with the foolishness. I keep meaning to burn all of her ballads on to one CD from both of her music efforts.

I know that the Boogiemonster had a video for that song. However I was saying that sometimes good songs are over looked whether they are released or not.
In many areas songs and videos are released, but we never see them in other areas.
I know when I cams to school in North Carolina I had Cd's and Cassettes that people down here never heard of.
Now the Soul For Real video for If You Want It I have never seen so I can't comment on that. I all I know is that the only time that I have heard the song is when I listen to it myself. And it is on there first album.
As for the INTRO song..The title of the song is Never Again. I have the single staring me dead in my face. I purchased in the spring of 95. It was suppose to be on there second album, but I don't know if it was put on it or not.
Like I said....Most good music, whether released or not, is over looked because of weak marketing.
A lot of songs on my list were released but over looked.
