How much are you looking to spend and is there a theme involved?

If I was to get a nice dopp bag with a premium shave set with some high end shaving soap, I'd be in love.

Nose hair trimmer. Every guy needs one, and not one of them want to be caught buying it themselves.

Well, you put the hard wax on two little sticks then you stick 'em up there and let it harden. It's my understanding that from there it's just like ripping off a bandaid.

... No. Just.. no.

IrishLake 10-03-2010 08:26 PM

That is NOT sanitary! All the germs you'd expose your open hair folicles to! Ew!

agzg 10-03-2010 08:41 PM

Not sure, I can't imagine it's any less sanitary than a brazilian bikini wax.

Drolefille 10-03-2010 09:19 PM

You're sticking the wax on/near a mucus membrane in a way you're not with a brazillian. However, I object purely for the "don't put things in your nose" grounds.

Neti pots? Those are big no's too.

knight_shadow 10-03-2010 09:26 PM

Wow.

Thank God I'm naturally good looking. I don't have to worry about these so-called treatments.

So you think......

How are the snot pots (neti) bad for you? My brother swears by them.

I don't know. I don't have to worry about it, though.

One of the joys of being devastatingly good looking.

They're not, AFAIK. (Ask a doctor) But I have a goal of keeping liquids out of my nose, not pouring them in. It makes my eyes water just to think about it.

Or it could be my allergies/cold. But still.

IrishLake 10-03-2010 09:59 PM

that neti pot could help you with your cold ;)

Rob Schneider did it in the Beverly Hillbillies movie. I will not be giving that a try.

I pretty much figure anything Rob Schneider did is something I should NOT do.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Everything about me is right.

A word of advice: don't ever share a small condo with someone who does it on a regular basis. There is no escape from the sound of someone else clearing out his snotways.

As far as the original question...Fraternity men like food. Could you bake him some cookies and stuff that he could share around? Also, depending on your campus traditions, maybe you could get him something like a cap with your letters.

I'd stay away from stuff like photo albums and shit like that...boys don't care about that stuff. Surprise.com is a great site to browse for gift ideas.

DrPhil 10-03-2010 11:42 PM

Boys II Men. And some of us women wouldn't want a damn photo album. :)

(Was it too much to ask that she focus less on what a "fraternity man" would like and focus on what a man and particularly that man would like? She knows men and she knows him, right?)

Well, I think that most of the men on this site are fraternity men, and there are certainly gifts that they'd understand that GDI's may not.

My doctor actually gave me one last year after two sinus infections. She said she didn't want me on antibiotics again, and handed me a lovely red neti.

For two days, I used it and swore at it. Now I swear by it.

That said, I've never met a man who couldn't use a personal hair trimmer.

Slight hijack, but neti pots are fantastic. I use them anytime I have a sinus issue and they work like a champ. I used to get sinus infections several times a year, now when I feel one coming on, I just bring out the neti and use it several times a day and the infection goes away on its own.
