LucyKKG 09-15-2010 01:26 AM

Me too! It's on Tuesdays, right? I hope our alumnae association meetings don't cut into Glee time. :( Haha oops...

MysticCat 09-15-2010 08:45 AM

Has anyone seen the list of some of the guest stars this season? Carol Burnett as Sue Sylvester's mother!

Tulip86 09-15-2010 09:03 AM

Just started watching Glee (season one started broadcasting here last night) and I love it!!!

I don't know about you, but I am beyond excited for Britney Spears. I'm not too big a fan of modern Britney, but when I was 8, Hit Me Baby One More Time was my jam!

Isn't John Stamos on there too?

I'm also excited that Brittany, the cheerleader, will have a bigger role in the series. I think she is hilarious.

I'm pretty worried about this, actually. Part of what makes her such gold is that her lines are so unexpected... if they overdo her, it could get old really fast.

I share that fear a bit. As for Britney Spears being on, she's the one I'm least pumped about seeing. I've never been a fan.

I don't know why, this made me feel old. 8? Sheesh

I really hope so! The best full house episodes were when they did those crazy over-produced Uncle Jesse numbers!

Totally agreed - I love Brittany and I really hope they don't ruin what's so great about her character.

I watched the season finale last night - I can't wait for next Tuesday!

You're in luck. He'll be the dentist that Emma is seeing.

Live-in and I were talking last night about all the guest star appearances and how they could go over the top - but if the list includes John Stamos - be still my heart.

bostongreek 09-15-2010 11:13 AM

I hope they have him sing "Forever" to Emma!

AOIIalum 09-15-2010 08:00 PM

I'm ready for more Glee! Bring on Carol Burnett! Could care less about Britney Spears though.

For some reason I thought Justin Timberlake was also doing a guest shot as Mr. Schue's brother? I'd almost rather see NPH's Bryan Ryan return a few times than Timberlake.

No, HAVE MERCY! ;)

agzg 09-22-2010 01:31 PM

I can't help it, loved last night's episode and I'm looking forward to next week - I know everyone's groaning over Britney but I liked the tribute episodes (Madonna, Lady GaGa) last season and I fully expect to like this one, too.

Plus, Britney's videos have always been kindof awesome.

thetygerlily 09-22-2010 02:50 PM

I loved the beginning interview segment when they addressed all the 80s and showtunes they do. As someone who is not a fan of the 80s, that was awesome.

The Gaga telephone bit was great- I was kind of disappointed in the Gaga tribute last season (felt like they could've gone farther). Although it seemed like Rachel had no sense of personal space as she was singing in Sunshine's ear/hair.

I'm also up for a Britney episode. She's not my favorite by any means but I think she has plenty of material to make up a good episode.

Ellen and Oprah fans might remember Charice Pempengco (Sunshine Corazon) as the 14 year old kid featured on their shows a few years back. Oprah gave Charice her big break and hooked her up with Celine Dion and ultimately David Foster when she was 15.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPbzK...eature=related

The kid grew up in the Philippines with a single mom and used her voice to support her family. What a Cinderella story.

srmom 09-22-2010 03:35 PM

I'm looking forward to watching the show tonight (DVR'd). We missed last night because my husband and I went to the live So You Think You Can Dance Tour show - which was AWESOME!!

Two nights of singing and dancing- What a great way to spend our evenings!

jennyj87 09-23-2010 12:47 PM

People thought I went on vacation but I really spent the summer lost in the sewers.

I laughed SO hard when brittany said that.

So did I. I absolutely LOVE Brittany, and I'm really looking forward to her being featured in next week's Britney/Brittany episode!

Thank you! We rewound it three times and still didn't catch what she said. :)

indygphib 09-23-2010 07:28 PM

I also cracked up when she said, "Stop the violence," while Quinn and Santana were fighting.

Best line! She is my favorite character.

Anyone else a bit annoyed with Rachel? Her character is bugging the heck out of me. Her "I did this because I love you guys so much" was such crap.

Rachel is completely neurotic now. I haven't been able to stand her since halfway through the first season.

kddani 09-28-2010 09:06 PM

Yay for the Britney episode.

Rachel's character is terrible this season. Every gesture of her face is so over-exaggerated it looks like she's going to eat someone.

Also, her new haircut is terrible. And she's gone totally off the deep end. They're exaggerating her too much; she doesn't seem real anymore. NO ONE'S that crazy.

gee_ess 09-28-2010 10:36 PM

I agree with the crazy Rachel comments! And why does she have to cry every time she sings a ballad? It is really just a bit too much.

Did anyone notice the So You Think You Can Dance guy dancing in the Brittany fantasy videos? I can't remember his name right now but he was a pro this season who danced with the contestants... Mark, maybe?

PeppyGPhiB 09-29-2010 12:12 AM

OK, am I the only one who thinks the new football coach is the OLD football coach?

I thought that at first too! Haven't done any investigating as to who the actor(s) are/is though.

Sadly, as someone with a background in music, I can tell you that there really are people that crazy, or at least close to it.

She's something like a professional or champion arm wrestler. And no, I'm not making that up.

Wife and I felt really old last night -- we only recognized one song in the entire show. Obviously, we're not Brittany Spears fans. :o Overall, I thought last night's episode was "eh." But Brittney really can dance. (My wife read that she started out as a choreographer for the show, then they pulled her into the cast.)

Yes - that was Mark Kanemura from SYTYDC Season 4 and he was one of the all stars for season 7. I'm a huge fan!

And I loved the Brittney episode last night!

Yep, they originally brought her in for the Beyonce choreography and then realized she could do a lot more. Smart move! She is a great dancer, you could tell they wanted to build a show all around her- her quips, singing, and dancing all in one.

I didn't recognize all of the songs... or had heard them but very briefly. So you aren't alone.

I don't think Rachel is made for Britney. Granted she isn't my favorite voice on the show, but her singing Britney just seemed wrong. The last song she did at the end was more her.

She actually was one of Beyonce's back up dancers on tour.

Agreed. I love Lea Michele's voice, but it's made for Broadway and the Great American Songbook.

Still BLUTANG 09-29-2010 01:56 PM

i was soooooo impressed with brittany last night. i always thought her quips & 1-liners were cute, but now i am officially a fan. she is an AMAZING dancer!

this ep made me feel a little old, though. i literally remember where i was the first time i saw the "Oops I did it again" video. Britney has had a LONG career!

Tulip86 09-29-2010 04:02 PM

I nearly choked on my food when Santana said: Leave Brittney Alone!

LOLs

ms_gwyn 09-29-2010 04:07 PM

I agree on all accounts...

also Heather Morris (aka Britney) was first on SYTYCD as well, then the beyonce stuff and the glee stuff....and the girl can dance...as a former dancer myself, I was astounded....

Yea, Lea Michele and that song last night made me cringe...

Here is a picture of Dot Jones aka Shannon Beiste aka New Football Coach
